Vampor

We had discussed the ball for an hour then I abruptly stood up rubbing my hands together I announced

"we need something to wear let's go shopping" Maya frowned her eyebrows wrinkling "what?" I asked confused Maya stood slowly

"Queen caitlin one, only royalty can go to the royal ball and two you have a royal Tailor you don't need to go shopping" huh that's cool well the second part anyway so I sat down

"ok one I am hostess so you're both invited and two cool my own personal Tailor" I laughed Maya seemed happy too I could tell it was because she was coming to the ball. Half hour later I had contacted the council and told them about the ball that we had decided would take place on Saturday the tailor was due tomorrow the council were also invited and they pointed out that Arimas and Orion wouldn't be there but I didn't care we sent out invites to every planet in the galaxy except the two that wouldn't turn up

The next day the tailor arrived

"hi your majesty I'm Robson the tailor"

"hi nice to meet you" we bowed at each other then Robson took out a pad and paper

"so your majesty, what colour would you like your gown to be?"

"uhh blue?" I stated

"dark blue will look great on you my queen" he smiled he turned to Maya "and you miss Maya?"

"uhh I think.... purple" Maya stated

"lilac will look good ... is that ok?" Maya nodded I shrugged the tailor nodded he wrote something in his pad "so when do you need them for?"

"uhh well the ball is on Saturday so Friday" I asked

"that's fine your majesty it'll be ready by then" he turned and started to leave I was confused

"wait aren't you gonna take measurements"

"I already did" he shrugged as he left I turned to Maya she shrugged

"that's how he always operates" I nodded quite impressed

The ballroom had been set-up for the ball the buffet table held food from around the galaxy there were three jugs of blood for the people of Vampor the blood had been donated by people in the castle including me, the animals, and the crocs who's blood was green hence the three jugs there were also things that looked like stones they even felt like stone everything was ready, I blinked upstairs to get ready myself my dress had arrived the day before I took a shower then got ready my dress was velvet and blue it had a swirled pattern on the chest the sleeves were very short and stayed on the shoulder it was tight fitting at the top to the waist then it flared out like ball hence the name ball gown I looked in the mirror and applied blue eyeshadow and applied lip gloss I did my hair in a bun and put on some doll shoes the dress touched the floor when I walked I turned and walked through the door down the staires and made my way to the ballroom I opened the double doors and made my way in, there were many people here already some had green skin, some had blue skin some had hair and some had spikes for hair some were at the table eating I smiled at that thankful that the food was liked I saw an elderly man wearing a red robe drinking blood his hair was white and he seemed a little chubby he reminded of king Henry the eighth I would laugh if his name was Henry that would be funny.

I walked over to him

"hello I'm queen Caitlin of Enidan"

"ahh the host of this wonderful ball I am king Harold of Vampor" he told me as he bowed I bowed too

"it is a pleasure to meet you your majesty. I trust the food is to your liking?" I asked nervously

"it is splendid queen Caitlin" he answered raising his glass at me he looked over my head "ahh that's my son come on" he stated as he started to walk past I smiled and followed him I gasped when king Harold stopped he had stopped infront of the man from my premo his hair was different it was still dirty blond but it was combed back using gel like a 1930s style "Vlad this is queen Caitlin of Enidan and Caitlin this is my son prince Vlad of Vampor" he stated as he looked at each of us while he spoke

"pleasure" Vlad stated he was bowing

"oh yes of course pleasure" I said as quickly bowed

"nice party" he stated as he looked around

"thanks yes it is mind you I can't take credit the maids made it happen" I told him he looked at me like I had grown an extra head I blushed and looked down "what?" I whispered he shook his head but didn't say anything I said bye and walked away to mingle with other royal I spotted Tony and Maya at the far end but they looked like they needed privacy as Tony was saying something in her ear and she was blushing I sighed wanting that for myself I learnt a lot from other planets it was quiet fascinating I also learnt that most of these people had come here with my maids as most couldn't blink and it would've taken them a few days to get here being royalty they couldn't afford to be away from home that long.

I was dancing with Vlad who was telling me about his home how it rained blood so their rivers were red the blood was cleaned so when they took a shower it was water cool huh

a butler burst through the door and everyone froze

"your majesty" he huffed he came to me and bent down trying to get his breath back I just stood there he stood and fanned himself

"what is it" I asked terrified at what his answer might be

"ahh maid.... she fell hurt her leg" I cursed under my breath and signalled for him to show me where he led me out as I shouted excuse me to people who were looking we ran upstairs to the maid and butler wing he opened the third door on the right "she has the ability to heel but it may take long" I nodded as I saw the sleeping maid "how long" the butler shrug

"it could take hours days weeks" I nodded again "there is another problem I looked at him worried she wasn't going to die was she "Amy was the maid that brought the Vampeens here"

"Vampeens who are they?"

"the people from Vampor"

"oh..... It's ok I'll take them .....if Amy hasn't woken yet" the butler nodded and we left the room I went back to the ball "everything is fine" I stated as I noticed all eyes were on me everyone smiled as I made my way over to king Harold

"ahh is everything alright?" He asked as I got closer

"everything is fine king Harold but we do have a slight problem" I rubbed my hands together prince Vlad had also joined us

"what is it?" King Harold sounded scared I looked up at him

"the maid that got injured is the same maid that bought you here" I told him he looked upset looking down so I quickly finished "but It's ok I shall blink you home" he looked up pleased with that "of course if that's ok" I added as an after thought the king smiled stating it would be ok for him.

We all danced and mingled for another two hours then people started to leave after saying goodbye to me soon the Vampeens were the only royalty left

"right would you like me to escort you home now"

"Yes thank-you queen caitlin" I smiled and put my hands out to them both I tried to ignore the sparks I felt holding Vlads hand

"ok close your eyes and think of your planet and I'll use that to take you home" I read there mind and saw a river a red river "ok take a deep breath and hold it" I heard them take a breath and I blinked I heard the whoosh knowing we were there "you can open your eyes now" I stated as I took in the scenery I let go of there hands and walked forward we were in a meadow I could see the river and I could also see the red grass and red leaves in the tree the trunk to the tree was blue the sky was orange the sun wasn't yellow but red "it's beautiful" I whispered before I could stop myself I walked to the river it didn't seem as thick as normal blood but it was just as red

"come on to the castle" king Harold whispered so not to scare me I turned to face them and smiled "we'll walk" king Harold stated they turned and started I followed closely then caught to them and walked with them they smiled down at me.

We had walked for about five minutes when I saw the most amazing building ever it was shiny and it sparkled it was the castle I thought it was made of glass but on further inspection I found it was made of diamonds

"wow" was all I could say the king and prince laughed at me and walked in I quickly followed not wanting to be left behind it was just as amazing inside as it was outside the floor was dark red but not maroon and it sparkled like glitter but I knew it was diamonds the walls were white and they had pictures carved into the walls it was breathtakingly amazing

"come on let's have tour" king Harold announced as he led me into different rooms all were amazing, there was a room that had a great view of these mountains made of diamond that's right diamonds they built everything out of diamonds they were not as expensive as they are on earth apparently if you dug far enough in your own back yard you will soon come across diamonds.

We soon came to a room that had portraits of, what I assumed, past royals there was one picture that caught my eye it was of a women in her forties maybe her skin was very white like light and her hair was black like the night she was wearing a black gown and a red robe similar to king Harold

"who's that?" I asked the men pointing at the picture they turned around to face me as they had been walking ahead

"that was my wife Hillary" the king said proudly but I could sense sadness in voice

"was?" I asked king Harold nodded

"she died when Vlad here was seven" his voice cracked a little "she's in heaven or six feet under" he turned to me then asked "where do you think she is?" I was taken by surprise but then remembered a moment Luke and I had shared when I was ten

"Neither" I answered the king and prince frowned I smiled and went on to explain "you see I don't think she's in heaven or six feet under .... I think she's in your hearts and in the memories of all the people that knew her .... every time you think of her she's alive" I shrugged looking at the portrait again

"is that what you think of your mum?" Prince Vlad asked I nodded

"yes I was about ten I was upset because I had an assembly in school all my friends mothers were gonna be there but not mine Luke sat me down when he found me crying and told me that my mum was always there, when I said my first word when I took my first step, on my first day of school on my last day school she was always there whenever I thought of her whenever I needed her she was there and in the future she would be there" I looked at king Harold in the eye "and I believe that with all my heart" Vlad wiped a tear away from his cheek I laughed quietly "I should get going they'll call a search party" I said my goodbye before blinking back to Enidan

"where the hell have you been" Tony shouted as he saw me

"I was on Vampor?" I told him but it came out more as a question Tony let out a sigh he pinched the bridge of his nose

"what am I going to do with you?" He looked at me again he put his hands on my shoulder "Caitlin, there are people out there who want to hurt you and they will do anything to kill you, you have to be careful you got that you can't trust anyone" I was scared and shocked I had never seen Tony like this before

"I promise I'll be more careful" I told him truthfully he nodded he let me go

"so how was it?" I was shocked at that

"uh good?" I told him still in shock he nodded then smiled he patted my head and walked away I shook my head and laughed I went into the ballroom and saw that the maids were cleaning and the room looked good I spotted the butler that had told me about the injured maid Amanda I stopped him

"hi how's Amanda?"

"oh she's fine your majesty she's still sleeping though" I nodded

"i'm sure she'll be fine" the butler smiled but the smile didn't reach his eyes I left the ballroom to go to the kitchen I wanted something to eat I heard voices so I stood to listen

"....and she's still asleep. seriously I'm sure she's lying I mean how thick can the queen get for thinking that she's injured I mean now we have to do her chores I mean who does that stupid queen think she is, king Richard wouldn't have stood for this why do we have to do her chores" I was angry and I could feel my flames rising this was not good I stepped Into the kitchen and the maid stopped talking she gulped and looked pale I didn't need to read her mind to know she was scared

"what's going on?"

"uh...nothing we were just..... talking" another maid spoke

"about what?" 'she can read my mind what do I say?' the maid spoke in her head I folded my arms across my chest and turned to the maid who had been talking before I entered "come with me" without waiting for her I turned around put my arms down and started walking I went up the stairs to the maids quarters and my super hearing told me that she was following with a very fast heartbeat It's good to be scared I opened the door to Amanda's room and walked in "come on in" I told her she came in and I shut the door I pointed at Amanda "does she look like she's faking it?" I asked her in a low voice I was so angry at her I could set the planet alight

"nnno?" She answered but it sounded more like a question I laughed without humor and started pacing the room with one arm folded across my chest and a fist of the other under my chin

"so you think it would be better if king Richard was here?" I stopped pacing and faced her "what would he do in this situation?" I asked and waited she seemed to be in shock with my question "WHAT WOULD HE DO?" I shouted taking a step towards her as she took a step back as she flinched and in almost a whisper she answered

"he would've killed her" I smiled and took a step back

"he would've killed her" I confirmed she nodded "so who would've done her chores if she was dead"

"I guess it would've been us" I nodded

"you" I walked over to the door then turned back to her "you can think what you like but gossip whilst you're working and my wrath will be worse than that of king Richard" I told her in a low voice I opened the door and told her to get out when she left I looked at Amanda and instantly started to calm down I laughed I didn't even know her didn't know what she sounded like and yet she calmed me down I touched her head and stroked her "get well soon" I whispered and with that I left her room realising I didn't get anything to eat I quickly made my way to the kitchen
