To lose your powers
When we got back to the castle there was food waiting on the table Bella, one of the kitchen staff, came into view
"ah your majesty you're back dinner is waiting please sit and eat" Bella stated as she bowed then without waiting for us to speak she walked back into the kitchen. After exchanging glances we made our way to the table and sat down to eat there were a few dishes there was a roast chicken, various fish dishes and some vegetable dishes there was also a salad. We all dug in i had lemonade with my food like i normally do the food was amazing we held a light conversation like best friends.
After dinner i retired to my room to read i was currently reading a book called 'The bench' written by one of the Enidanian authors (A/N written by emergency reaction on wattpad good book you should read it) i'd just completed chapter five when there was a knock on my door i propped myself up on my elbow
"enter" i called out Amanda came in
"sorry to disturb you your majesty but Zorif is here" i jumped out of bed
"where is he" I asked excitedly
"wow someones happy, he's right here" she moved and standing behind her was Zorif i bent down hugging the wolf close and just about heard Amanda leaving
"oh i missed you" i told him as i let him go "so how have you been" i asked still smiling he didn't answer "Zorif why aren't you talking, are you angry" my smile was replaced with a frown as zorif still didn't answer "whats going on?" i asked no-one in particular zorif tilted his head to the side probably wondering the same thing i decided to ask Tony "OK lets go to Tony he'll know what to do" i put my hand on zorifs head so that we could blink to his room i was feeling lazy i took a deep breath then blinked when i opened my eyes i was still in my room "what the..." i tried again still nothing "come on zorif looks like we're walking" but instead we ran i held my dress up from the sides and ran down the hall towards Tony's room i knocked on his door then just walked in.
"what's the point of knocking if you're going to just barge in?" he asked eyebrows raised, arms folded across chest but a smile playing on his lips i would've smiled to but wasn't feeling it
"Houston we have a problem" i told him
"who's Houston, and what problem?" i rolled my eyes of course he wouldn't get that
"never mind that, I've lost my abilities"
"what?"
"yeah i can't hear zorif talking to me, i cant blink i can't even make a fire ball" i had tried to make one on my way to Tony's room
"oh no" was his reply "how?" he looked at me expectantly i just shrugged
"maybe I'm not Enidanian" Tony shook his head
"it doesn't work like that you inherited being Enidanian that's like saying my eyes will change colour because I'm not my fathers son anymore" that made sense i walked over to his window not knowing what to do "you can't lose your ability to blink unless you're a criminal" i gasped and turned to him he put his hands up in defence "criminals have to be stripped of their powers before they go to jail otherwise they'll just escape" he told me i turned to the window again letting out a sigh i could see the market stalls from here the merchants selling all kinds of things there were stalls selling fruit, veg, clothes, jewellery. There was a man chopping coconuts making holes at the top and putting straws in them and selling them there was also a man selling sugar cane juice in the distance i could see the meadow and the stream i let out a sigh knowing that if i didn't get my powers back soon i would probably have to leave not only the throne but the planet "it wont come to that, we'll figure something out" i turned to him and smiled softly if anyone could help me it was Tony i heard Zorif whine and turned towards him id forgotten he was still there
"Zorif wants to tell me something i don't know what to do"
"hey its ok" Tony said rubbing my shoulder he turned to Zorif "can you show us what you need to tell us?" Zorif nodded "ok then lead the way" Zorif turned and walked out the door Tony and i followed
"where are you guys going?" Amanda asked
"we're just going with Zorif if anyone wants to see the queen tell them to wait or come back another time we don't know how long we'll be" Tony explained Amanda nodded as we carried on walking we walked out of the castle and towards the forest people greeted us but i couldn't acknowledge them Tony nudged me i looked up at him "they don't know relax" i just hugged myself tighter if they didn't know now they would soon i felt wetness on my cheeks and realized i was crying we entered the forest i saw straight away what the problem was the alpha was hurt and his breathes were very fast i fell to my knees and cried more Tony put his hands on my shoulder to relax me it was comforting but it didn't stop me from crying what could i do the alpha was dying i felt something in my lap i opened my eyes and looked down through my blurry vision i could see Zorif resting his head in my lap trying to tell me it was ok, but it wasn't ok i couldn't heal the wolf and he was going to die
"I'm sorry" i whispered in between sobs 'I'm so sorry" i said a little louder Zorif whined in my lap and all i could do was stroke his head to comfort him although we all knew it wasn't enough i looked at the injured wolf and told him i had lost my powers the animals of the forest had gathered and all were making sounds that told me they were upset i hated mself so much at that moment i was tired, tired of crying tired of the howling i fell to my side and closed my eyes in hopes that when i woke everything would be fine and id have my powers back if not then i wanted the ground to swallow me, before i knew it i was asleep i knew because in-front of me stood my mum "mum" i sobbed she walked over to me pulling me into a hug
"shh its ok everything is ok" she whispered over and over again even though i had never hugged my mum it felt familiar maybe because she smelt of the woods she smelled like the forest after rain she smelled familiar when my crying stopped she held me at arms length I saw that her white dress had a wet patch
"im sorry" i hiccupped as i wiped away the remainder of my tears she looked down and smiled
"don't worry about it" she dismissed it with a wave of her hand "come" she said as she put out a hand for me to take i took her hand and we blinked to the kitchen of the castle we were standing near the dining table watching Maya, Tony, and myself eating "this is earlier this afternoon" i nodded "lets go further back" she told me as she took my hand i felt like i was watching a movie as i could see things rewinding, off the dining table Maya, Tony and i disappeared i assumed to his mothers house the 'movie' stopped then 'played' i saw a maid i recognised she was the maid that had bad mouthed Amy the one i had threatened she had a vile in her hand and glass of what looked like juice, the same one i had drunk she put in a few drops then i heard footsteps behind me i turned to see Bella she walked past us into the kitchen
"what are you doing Valerie"
"nothing just checking to see if everything is ok, don't want the queen to get upset if everything isn't to her liking, she might get angry" she laughed at the end Bella shook her head
"the queen never gets angry not like king Richard shes nice just because she got angry at you doesn't mean she'll get angry with me even if the preparations are not to her liking now leave before i throw you out" she said the last part whilst moving towards Valerie, Valerie gulped and ran past us smiling when Bella couldn't see her she took the glass of juice and smelt it she put it back down and started to prepare that's when i heard talking behind us it was Maya, Tony and me Bella walked out of the kitchen and ushered us to the table where she gave us the food she put the spiked juice in-front of me the dining room vanished and we were back in the forest
"wake-up my love there is still a chance to save the wolf if you wake-up" she told me as she disappeared i woke to see animals around me Tony was next to me
"hey there you ok?"
"what happened"
"i think you fainted you were out for five minutes, are you ok"
"yeah" i remembered the dream and sat up "i saw my mum i know what happened, that maid she spiked my juice"
"what maid, what juice and how do you know?"
"uh Valerie, the juice i drunk when we came back from your mums place and i was shown by my mother" he looked shocked "we have to find her and find out what she did if i have a chance of saving the alphas life we looked towards the wolf he looked worse but i trusted we could save him i had to, i stood up and announced we shall be back Tony held my hand as we blinked
We were in a room there was a bed at one wall next to a window there was a wardrobe and a bookshelf there was also a dresser with a mirror and chair sitting at the chair was Valerie i walked over to her in three huge steps taking out my sword i touched it at her throat she looked at me through the mirror
"your majesty what brings you here?"
"you know damn well what brings me here" i said menacingly "you spiked my drink and i want to know what you spiked it with"
"i don't know what you're talking about"
"damn it" i heard Tony curse i turned towards him in the mirror "i read her mind she used bilat herbs"
"whats that?" i asked she laughed, i knew i should of spiked yours as well oh well i'll just kill you, be done with both of you" i pressed the sword deeper
"keep talking" i whispered close to her ear give me a reason to kill you"
"now's not the time" Tony let me know as he took my hand and blinked
"what are you doing shes going to escape" i shouted trying to go back
"Caitlin you need to get your priorities straight we need to reverse what shes done, heal the wolf then go back and kill her i wont stop you but we can't waste time" i nodded then looked around we were in what looked like a shop there were herbs everywhere there were pot plats of different colours so many colors "doctor Noble" Tony shouted there were sounds coming from the back then a man appeared he looked th be in his thirties he had grey hair and was wearing a blue doctors coat
"ahh Tony your majesty" he bowed "how may i be of assistance?"
"we need a reversal of bilat herbs can you help?" the doctor frowned "the queen has been spiked"
"spiked? who by?"
"one of the maids Valerie" the doctor cursed under his breath and rubbed a hand over his face "whats wrong doc?"
"it was me, i gave her the herb" Tony got angry "hear me out she told me her boyfriend was being abusive and using his powers to hurt her she said she wanted to run away but didn't want him following her i didn't know she was going to use it on the queen" he turned to me "please forgive me your majesty i didn't know"
"its ok doc just help us please theres a wolf that needs me" the doctor nodded he walked to a shelf behind me and picked at a plant that had black leaves with a silver outline he picked a few leaves and went to the counter he got a little paper bag and put them in then handed the bag to me
"how much doc?" the doctor shook his head
"its on the house its the least i could do" we nodded Tony blinked us back to the kitchen he took a glass from the counter, went to the fridge and took out a carton of apple juice he crushed the leaves between his palms before letting them fall into the glass he shook the glass and waited till the leaves disappeared then he bought the glass to me
"drink" he commanded, i took the glass from him and chugged it down like i hadn't drank in a century i put the glass down on the work top
"i don't feel different it didn't work" i started to panic
"relax it'll take time, come on" he blinked us to the forest right next to the injured alpha. "do your thing" Tony announced as he took a step back i fell to my knees and put my hands hoping against hope that this would work.
ooh Cliff hanger what will happen? the market i explained was a typical market from the country i have described any ideas?
