Tangled mess

After Eric disappeared, I went to the spot where I took my bath and tried to wash the tangled mess on my head, but that merely turned out to be a complete disaster...

"I don't think I've ever done this myself before," I said out loud...

"I mean if I had, even if my memory was lost my body should at least be able to do what it does before right?" I asked no one in particular as I continued to struggle with my poor hair...

I think there's a saying that goes...that body has memories or am I only mixing things up as I've lost part of my memories I thought to myself helplessly, and I continued to battle with my hair.

I was still battling with my hair when I heard footsteps, I knew it was Eric even though I didn't look up.

After a few struggles and unsatisfied messy hair later, I decided I had done enough for today. At least all I had to do now was rinse off the shampoo from my tangled hair...

The question is how do I do that without getting my clothes wet.

My eyes are closed, but I assumed Eric was standing close, probably watching me since I couldn't hear his footsteps anymore...

And my only option was, to take off my clothes and get into the water to rinse the shampoo off my hair...

But I didn't want Eric to watch me do that even though he's seen me naked a couple of times before but hey, those were not intentional... I reassured myself mentally.

I turned in the direction of where I think Eric was standing and asked him to give me some space to finish up, but I received no response. I was beginning to think that he was no longer there.

I was tempted to open my eyes to check, but I didn't want to take chances and have shampoo in my eyes.

I was about to call out his name to be sure if he's still there or not, but then I had his footsteps, so I waited for him to be out of earshot before taking off my clothes but the footsteps were sounding much more closer like he was walking towards me, and not away from me.

He then stopped walking as he came extremely close to me... I could feel his tall frame hovering over my crouched form, so I asked

"What are you doing Eric "I asked skeptically as I was unsure about what he's trying to do coming this close.

"saving your poor hair from its owner" Eric announced firmly...

And I wasn't even done processing what he meant, and the next thing I know is I felt his hands on my hair...

He used his fingers to gently glide through my hair a few times before using his two hands to scoop some water and pour it over my head...

This was so much better than what I had been doing for hours I thought to myself...

It took a while but Eric was finally able to help me rinse out the shampoo from my hair, he then put a small towel on my head and used it to dry it a little...

I used some of the water to rinse off the shampoo from my face before opening my eyes I looked up and saw those mesmerizing aqua blue eyes staring back at me...

I was lost in them for a moment before I broke off the eye contact, with the clearing of my throat...

"Thanks, man" I said to Eric appreciatively, and Eric just nodded and then left.

I tried drying my hair more with the towel, before proceeding to use my hands to extricate the knots in my hair, even though I know it's impossible to get all the tangles out.

After a few moments, I followed Eric into the cave and saw that he was sitting on the rock lost in thoughts.

I wondered if he was thinking about home and the people he left behind maybe he misses them...

The thought of missing someone made me a little jealous and happy at the same time.

I was Jealous because he at least has someone he would like to go back to while am not sure if I do.

I went and hanged the towel where the hooded sweatshirt was then looked back at Eric "are you okay?" I asked him and he just looked up and smiled

"Am fine"

When I looked towards the way out of the cave, it seems like the sun was going down and that made me realize I must have used more than 2 hours for my hair...

Don't blame me, the hair is like a bird's nest and was all over the place plus including the fact that it was extremely long...

I looked back at Eric and said can I ask you something? He just nodded not seemingly intrigued by it.

"How did you get those pieces of pieces of stuff you brought earlier?"

"I got them from the plane," he said

Without even looking the least bit bothered...

"Okay," I said not dwelling on the fact that he said a plane.

"How did you even get here in the first place?" he looked at me,

"By the plane, enough of the questions already."

I still have so much to ask, but the fact that he said he got here by plane just kinda seemed to have taken me aback.

It sounded like he came here of his own will and not lost like me...

I mentally rolled my eyes like seriously Keera you probably got here by plane too.

I must have fallen off the plane or something I said to myself thinking of how I probably got here, but of course, I don't remember any of that.

Eric stood up and said he was going to go fetch some woods for the night, then left and I followed him not wanting to be alone in the cave.

We walked for a while in a different direction from the one we went to pick up fruits.

We both walked in silence since that seemed to be our routine.

Eric ahead, and me following quietly behind him. We later reached where he was going to pick up the woods.

He was picking up woods while I watched him closely, there's just something about him that I'm not sure if I'll be able to figure out but I want to...

"You might as well stop drooling over me and help pick up the woods," Eric said without looking at me.

"You wish, but sorry to smash your bubble man because you are not as drool-worthy as ya think."

And that cracked him up he laughed so hard it was as if he was choking on his laughter...

I know you are probably thinking his laughter was like music to my ears right?

Well, it's not he sounded like a freaking hyena. I was scared at first I thought he was choking to death but later realized he was just laughing.

After Eric stopped laughing, we picked up the woods he gathered and we went back to the cave...
