Forgiveness Is All I Need

Two weeks later...

(At the Fire kingdom)

The prince apologized to Olivia. Olivia then told him that they were just wasting each other's time because there was no use having a pointless conversation.

Carson held her arm. "I won't do it again."

Olivia sighed, "Your highness, I need to clean the kitchen. Please stop bothering me."

"It's been around three weeks. Please forgive me. I don't want you to despise me."

"I don't hate you, your majesty. I just need some time alone."

"Then tell me, when will you be able to forgive me?"

"When I feel like it."

"Any specific date?"

Olivia tried to escape his grip. "None."

The prince smiled. "I'll do anything."

"Why would you even do that just to get my forgiveness?"

"It's because I love you."

"Your highness, please stop."

"I'm serious?"

Olivia then told him that it was difficult to let it go since he's done it a couple of times already and he's just realized his mistake now.

Carson scratched his head. "I thought you were enjoying it."

Olivia folded her arms. "Well now you know I don't, your highness."

"I'm sorry okay? Can we just start over?"

"Perhaps not, your highness."

"Can't you just forget everything? Let's just start as friends."

"I'll think about it, but there aren't any promises, your highness."

"It's fine. I'll come back to you in a few days for your answer. Please do think about it," the prince said.

After the short conversation, while Olivia was on her way to the princess's room, she saw Adam standing in front of the door. She then asked him what he was doing.

Adam sighed, "I'm here to apologize to Kaycee."

Olivia asked, "For what?"

"She wants to break up with me."

"Let me through. I'll talk to her."

When Olivia went in the princess's bedroom, she informed the princess that her fiancé was waiting for her outside her room. The princess then rolled her eyes and told her to let him be.

Olivia sat beside her. "Your highness, why not give him a chance?"

Kaycee folded her arms. "He doesn't deserve it!"

"Your highness, everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect."

"Olive, I just can't okay? How could I love a man who loves another woman? Am I just a backup?"

"Did he say that he still likes me until now?"

The princess was then left speechless. Olivia told her, "See? He never said that."

The princess cried, "He said that he didn't like you anymore just because you rejected him."

"Your highness, isn't that part of courting? If I were a guy, I'd do the same."

"I get what you're trying to say. My point is, he still has you in his heart."

Olivia stood up. "Your highness, I can't explain to you all this because I'm unaware of what's happening in your relationship, so it's better if you talk to him."

A moment later, when Olivia closed the bedroom door, Adam and Kaycee were the only ones left in the room. The princess then told him to get out.

Adam sighed, "Can you stop being childish? At least hear me out."

Kaycee pointed at the door. "I said get out!"

"I'm not."

Kaycee then stood up and went closer to him.

"Leave me alone!" the princess yelled.

"I don't like Olive. That was in the past when I was still courting her," said Adam.

"You expect me to believe that?"

"It's your choice if you choose to believe or not."

"Then tell me, why are you so afraid of losing me? Is it just because you're just after my money?"

Adam hugged her. "That's not true. I'm doing this because I love you."

Kaycee then tried to push him away, but Adam was too strong and he wouldn't let go.

"I won't let go," said Adam.

The princess looked away. "You've already explained. Now go."

"I said I love you."

"I don't believe you."

Adam then pecked her lips. "Will this do then?"

"You—"

"No matter how hard you try to push me away, I'll always come back to you," Adam interrupted.

The princess said, "Stop being so sweet. I hate it."

"Then fine, I'll leave you alone."

When Adam was about to leave, the princess instantaneously hugged him from the back and cried, "Don't leave! I'm sorry okay? I realized that I was too harsh."

Adam looked at her and smirked. "I knew you'd do that."

"Kaycee yelled, "What—"

Before the princess could finish, Adam brought his face closer, his lips covering hers in a long warm kiss that left her short of breath. The princess's heart pounded as she could only focus on how addictive it was. There wasn't even a moment of hesitation. As Adam deepened the kiss, the princess started responding causing her toes to curl. Her mind went black as she broke the kiss to get some air.

Adam smiled. "Looks like you forgive me already."

"No," Kaycee lied.

"Then why did you kiss me back?"

"I just pitied you."

"Is that even a reason?"

"I guess it is."

Adam laughed. "You were just playing hard to get weren't you?"

"No, I wasn't," the princess lied.

"Even though you played hard to get, in the end, I still got you."

"Okay, I forgive you."

"I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings."

"No, I apologize for misunderstanding you. I didn't even listen to your explanation."

"It's fine. I'm glad we've fixed this already."

The princess hugged him. "I love you, Adam."

He smiled. "I love you more, princess."
