A Liar

(At the Fire kingdom)

While the princess sat on her chair, she told Julia that she was really worried about her brothers. Julia then smiled and told her that she didn't need to because they are strong.

Kaycee sank onto her chair. "They can be killed any time..."

"Your highness, negativity will bring you nowhere," Julia responded.

"I should've have stop them."

"Your highness, they're not only doing this for the sake of the gem. It's also for the sake of the whole Fire kingdom."

"Who else knows that brother isn't at the castle?"

"It is only Timothy and I, your highness."

Kaycee looked at the ceiling. "What about father then?"

Julia bowed. "He seems to be somewhere in the North, your highness."

"Have you figured out his specific location?"

"No, your highness."

"I really wonder why father left..."

"Your highness, he must've had a reason."

The princess then told her that he just came back a few weeks ago and he leaves without even informing them.

Julia smiled. "Everything will be alright, princess."

Kaycee sighed, "Can you really communicate with mother?"

"Why? Are you skeptical about it?"

"I don't wanna lie, but I actually believe that you've been lying to my brother this whole time."

Julia then explained that she'd never do such a thing because her mother's only wish was to see the princess and her siblings.

Kaycee rolled her eyes. "Your words are really convincing."

Julia chuckled. "I'll take that as a compliment, your highness."

"Tell me the truth."

"Your highness, I never lied about anything."

"You're being frivolous."

"Your highness, please don't make assumptions that quickly."

The princess stood up as she slammed the table. "Stop acting like a meek person."

Julia's smile faded away. "Your highness, I've done nothing wrong."

"Like I said, I suspect you."

"Your highness, I've said everything already. It's up to you to believe me or not."

"For now, I apologize for being frank, but when the time comes that you get exposed, everyone will know you'll be culpable for murder."

A few hours later...

(At the throne room)

Timothy informed the princess that he has already investigated Prince Eric's death.

Prince Eric, Eleanor's twin brother, died many years ago because one of the servants at the Water kingdom killed him because she had a grudge on the queen at that time.

The princess responded, "Tell me what you've got."

Timothy said, "Prince Eric was only six when he was killed by the servant his mother trusted the most. Later on, when the king was informed about it, he immediately ordered her to be beheaded."

"What's the servant's name?"

"Her name's Helen. If she was still alive, she'd probably be around her late forties."

Kaycee put her hand under her chin. "Does she have any children?"

Timothy bowed. "No, only a spouse, your highness."

"Is her spouse still alive? I'd like to have a word with him."

"I'm still uncertain about that, but I'm investigating it, your highness."

Meanwhile...

(At Pali village)

"I heard that King Cameron is working as a servant in the Water kingdom," Jack began.

The man glared. "Who told you that?"

"Licia did."

"What do you come here for?"

Jack then told him that he wanted to talk about the plan, but the man shook his head and told him that he didn't need to know.

Jack clenched his fist. "I'm a part of it."

The man looked at his fingernails. "Convince Jay to use his powers on Eleanor."

"Can't you use it yourself? Aren't you a lot more powerful than him?"

"I don't know when I'll be able to recover yet."

"Then get some rest so that we can start with the procedure at once."

"Don't treat as if I'm the one bringing us down."

"I'm not." Jack smiled.

"Once I get my powers back, I'll be a lot more powerful than you." the man chuckled.

"You think that—"

Before he could continue, Licia suddenly came and told them that the pills they were making were running out. The man's eyes then widened and asked her if other people would be able to notice.

"Don't worry, he already took the extra pill," Licia informed.

"How?" Jack asked.

"Through Jay, of course."

"What do you mean?"

"A few weeks before he was released, Jay added a back up pill in his heart."

"What a prodigious servant." the man smiled.

"You're giving me a vague response," Jack sighed.

Licia sat on a wooden stool. "To sum it all up, he won't be needing any pills anymore. He's got it with him."
