I Said I'll Let You Live... I Lied.

Three comrades are dead, and their target is still unharmed. This is indeed very degrading, especially since their opponent is just one kid.

"An element bender?!" the leader exclaimed.

"Who sent you?" Ambrose asked with an expression that says; 'I'm not joking around.'

Being an element bender puts his foes on high alert, and with how he dealt with two of his men, the captain needed to take this one himself no matter how unfair that may seem (since he is stronger).

Ambrose strode towards the dead assassin and pulled out two daggers from its pockets...

"Alright, let's begin, shall we?" he said, revealing a sinister smile on his lips.

"Tsk!" the leader snorted. This kid is, without a doubt, looking down on him. Veins popped out of his forehead, which, of course, indicates anger. That, however, did not stop Ambrose from attacking.

Once he got very close, the assassin abruptly duplicated himself in two places, with one of them moving away with precision.

Noting his opponent's plan, Ambrose halted his movement and stepped on the face of the duplicated foe, backflipping with a powerful kick concentrated with mana.

*KaBam!!*

The assassin pushed backward and avoided a probably fatal hit, and the duplicated version of himself dissipated.

Ambrose's feet crushed the ground due to missing his target. This could have been someone's head getting smashed.

'How did he know I was the original one?' that's the thought the assassin had in mind as he kept a safe distance.

"Retreating already?"

This provoked his foe just as he wanted…

"I'll make you eat your words,"

"My thoughts exactly," Ambrose sped up towards his opponent once again and evaded any incoming attacks while at it.

*Slash!*

Part of the assassin's shoulder got slit, which could have been lethal if he hadn't shifted his body position right on time.

Ambrose's non-hesitant will to cut a person down brought shivers down his spine. This kid is the devil himself.

*Clank! kanck!! Clank!!*

"This is..."

The young boy had such a detailed body movement, just like the leader, and for an unknown reason, he seemed to be improving with every clash.

In actuality, Ambrose isn't a master martial artist nor does he have any experience in sword fights. However, with his superior sense of sight, he could follow every movement from his opponent and come up with tactics to evade, and yes, the longer the fight continues, the better Ambrose became, especially with anticipating his opponent's next motions.

"This is unacceptable!!" says the leader in disbelief. Increasing his power output, he swung his blade at high speed...

*CLANK!!*

Both blades clash, but Ambrose was pushed backward and one of his blades got damaged.

'This is my chance,'

A very murderous intention enveloped young Ambrose as one assassin tried to slay him down from the back.

*Pow!! CRACK!!*

With an unrivaled reflex, Ambrose made a precise turn, smacking the assaulter right in the face. The poor assassin's neck broke in an instant, sending the dead guy crashing multiple times until it came to a stop.

"Was this part of the plan?" Ambrose questioned. "I am getting bored with this,"

His demeanor changes as he confidently walked closer to the leader, not bothered with hiding his killing intent.

"You can at least tell me who sent you?"

'Is he just a kid? This is hard to accept,' the leader assassin thought to himself.

He felt ashamed for having this fear enveloping him.

"So what do you say? Tell me who is behind this and I will make sure you don't die alone,"

Two other assassins appeared right next to Ambrose with a stern expression as they skillfully went for the kill.

*Shunk!! Plork!!*

Solidified body of water pulled out from the ground and crucified both of them, killing them on the spot.

"One way or the other, you're going to tell me the truth. Anyone coming after me or my family will never see the light of a new day. That's a promise I can give,"

The leader created more copies of himself, and they all went for Ambrose. Each of them had blades in their possession. However, with ease, Ambrose evaded all their assaults while closing the distance between himself and his prey.

An assassin blocked his path; "You're going no further," he said and enchanted using multiple hand-signs.

As a result, boulders with a sharp edge pull out from the ground to pierce the young Ambrose.

He flipped over while placing his hands on the piercing rock and smacked his opponent using his feet. He lost balance, which then resulted in a follow-up blow from Ambrose that buried the poor lad's face to the ground.

His skillful display is a wake-up call not to underestimate him for his size, and they, in turn, did not hold back anymore as all four remaining assassins attacked all at once. This also includes the leader.

Ambrose flung the dagger that's in his possession, and it pierced through the throat of one of his foes. Catching up to the dead guy, he pulled out his dagger from his throat before the dead guy could fall to the ground and slashed the next opponent in the eye, destroying his eyesight.

The third opponent got trapped in a body of water and he choked. This led to his death.

*DAMN IT!*

The leader cursed in boiling anger; he released everything in his next attack. He focused all his energy on his sword, which gave it a very uneasy sensation. His blade could cut anything it comes in contact with... Well, except for the fact that he had already lost his arm just when he was about to attack.

"What_" this realization filled him in dread.

"I'll ask one last time. Who sent you?"

"I suggest you choose your words carefully. I'll inflict immense pain on you to get what I want," Ambrose added.

The leader fell on his knees and said; "Of what use will that be? I'll die by your hands at the end,"

"No, you won't," Ambrose replied. "If you had given me the answers I needed in the first place, your comrades would still be alive,"

The leader felt very regretful at his irrational actions, all of which had led to his pitiful condition...

"Ms. Nevaeh, she sent us," he admitted.

"Ms. Nevaeh? who the hell is that?" Ambrose wondered. He remembers no one with that name; "Oh, hold on a sec,"

A calm smile appeared on his lips. It all made sense now...

"Why does she want me dead?"

"We do not ask questions?" says the assassin in reply.

"Well, you should have. Now look at your condition,"

You might think our innocent boy is regretful for what he had done... you will be wrong.

The assassin had nothing to say in reply... Well, thankfully, he won't be losing his life, not today at least.

"I said I'll let you live... that was a lie,"

Multiple ice shards stabbed and killed the last opponent on the spot...

With no way of disposing of the body, Ambrose took his pet with him and left.

The scene he left behind is um... well, it's not child friendly, but who cares? They brought this upon themselves.

Ambrose doesn't have a problem letting them live, however, to prevent anyone from finding out what he had done or can do. Killing them off was the better option. Plus, he wouldn't want anyone else, especially their comrades coming after him or his family, all in the name of revenge.

"Ambrose, what happened to your clothes?" Blythe sounded anxious.

Ambrose had forgotten he should have been more careful when returning home. Now, what excuse does he have?

"I fell," he said.

"Was it that hard?" she also noticed a few traces of red stains on Ambrose. "I should take you to an alchemist,"

Her anxiety grew stronger just imagining how hard her son must have fallen...

"I don't need it,"

"You do not have a say in this one,"

"I won't go to an alchemist no matter how hard you force me,"

An alchemist might just expose what he had done, so no, thank you.

"Ok, fine... at least let me treat you myself," Blythe still couldn't let it go.

"Fine,"
