Ch. 8 Teaching Vance's men

I texted Orlando that I had forgot my bag in his car. He texted me that it'll be at the shop waiting for me.

"Hey, Sheela." I say.

"Where you'd go with Orlando?" She asked.

"Just to his gang." I replied.

"His gang? Why would you go there?!" She says.

"Because I needed to, and besides they wouldn't hurt you." I say.

"What do you mean they wouldn't hurt me?!"

"I told them not to." I say.

"Because you told them not to! They wouldn't listen to you." She says.

I laugh. "I rank higher than their boss." I say.

"You, what?" She says shocked.

"I should take you there." I say.

"No, no, no. I'm fine with not going." She says.

"Anyway, I will go change." I say and go get changed.

I see my bag and smile, I put the bag in my locker and take out my work clothes. I go to the counter after I have my work clothes on. I see Orlando doing his best at trying to help Sheela with the boxes of flowers, he so needs my help. I turn to a customer coming to me.

"Hi, did you find everything?" I smile.

"I was looking for lilacs, could you help me." He said.

"Lilac's there this way." I say, motioning him over to an aisle.

"Is that everything?" I ask.

I go over to the counter and scan the barcode. I say, "Would you like a bag?" He replies no and I tell him the price.

Sheela comes out giggling a little as Orlando is beside her. Orlando jokes about the boxes and she lightly hit him on the arm.

"Sheela, you're working here again!" The customer says surprised.

Sheela looks at him and I see her surprise and hesitation to what to say.

"Cousin, I started working here again." She finally says.

"I thought you weren't." He says.

"I changed my mind since I love the flowers." She says.

As he was going to say something I said, "Sheela we have customers, I would like it if you could end the conversation soon." He looks over to me then back to Sheela.

"I guess I'll go but if you need a ride just call me." He said and left after she nodded.

We continue working through the day. Sheela was zoning out and almost dropped multiple flowers. I didn't have time to ask her what's up as customers came in and I had to run some flowers to places. When we were closing up the place, I asked her.

"Sheela, what's wrong. After you met your cousin you almost drop the flowers in your hands." I say.

"Oh, yeah. I told him that I'm not ever working here again." She says.

"I'm gonna go call him." She said and walks outside with her phone in her hands.

I grab my bag and look inside, I see a note and read it. "By the way, I would love those lessons soon, Orlando." Hmm, looks like he can't wait. I throw the note away as I go outside to look for Sheela. I see her waiting for her cousin.

"Hey, Sheela your cousin coming?" I say.

"Yeah." She replies.

"What's with Orlando? He's different." She says.

"What do you mean?" I say, knowing what she means.

"He's just..." She pauses. "More friendly?" She says.

"He really wanted to help you with boxes." I say.

She giggles and says, "Yeah, do you think he changed?"

"It's up to you, but he really is trying." I say.

"I see but what if-." I interrupt her.

"He doesn't deserve you. If you don't want him." I say.

Before she says anything, her cousin pulls up in his car. He gets out and hugs her she returns the hug.

"I missed you." She said, breaking the hug.

"Me too." He says.

"Who's this?" He says, looking at me.

"My friend." Sheela says.

"Nice to meet you." He says.

"Not like we already met." I say and shake his hand.

"I should get going. Nice meeting you." I say.

"Right, bye." He says.

"Bye." Sheela says.

I go to my car and drive to the gang. I park in the same ally and enter heading to Vance. He's in the same room from last time.

"Hey, Vance you got them?" I say.

"Yeah, let me show you." He says.

He takes me out of the room and leads me upstairs. We go into a room and there's men training.

"Okay, men listen up. This i-." He says before I cut him off.

"I'm Jena who will be training you." I say.

"We will start by showing me how you punch." I say.

I go around and correct them. Showing them how much force, it would need to knock out an average person.

It went on for like an hour until I needed to get home and rest for tomorrow. I went home and went to bed, ready to do Orlando's first lesson.
