Hot And Dangerous

CHAPTER 11

"Hey, Xander!"

Rather than answering his friend Jay, Xander pressed a button in the car, further ignoring his friend.

"Stop the car." His deep voice rang out and the driver immediately pulled over at his command.

"Xan, what's wrong? What's going on?" Sky suddenly asked, peeling his eyes away from his phone to look at his friend.

Xander still didn't answer them and just peered out the window.

"What is he looking at?" Sky asked out loud, his interest suddenly piqued by his friend's weird behaviour.

It was not like Xander to get attracted by anything so easily not to speak of it making him behave in this manner. So to the two friends, his behaviour was quite strange.

"Want to bet it's a girl?" Jay jokingly asked Sky, moving his eyebrows up and down as a smile broke out on his lips.

"Be serious for once, Jay."

"Hey, I am serious!"

"Whatever, let's take a look as well."

Quickly both of them scooted over towards where Xander was seated, following the line of his gaze, they peered out the window together.

Right at the side of the busy street of Star Cross City was a lady clad in tight black trousers, a red off-shoulder crop top with red heels to match, a pair black sunshades and a black backpack.

In her simple outfit, coupled with her waist-length brown hair, she looked particularly stunning.

What had caught their attention was the way she raised her leg and kneed a guy in the gut before kicking him away.

Without wasting time, she moved over and grabbed the silver handbag on the ground lying next to him and headed towards a lady wearing a black knee-length pencil gown.

On the other hand, the lady was stupefied and looked like someone who had seen a ghost with her gaze locked on the lady that approached her.

The stunning lady handed over the bag to its owner and then walked away.

"Damn, she's hot!" Jay exclaimed from behind Sky.

"Really? Did you have to scream that out in my ears?" Sky complained. His eyes held a look of irritation when he turned his head to look at his noisy friend.

"Well, she is hot. Just the kind of lady I like."

"Hot and dangerous. Do not forget that fact," Sky reminded him.

"Yikes. True, I was captivated by her beauty and sexy look just now that I almost forgot how she dealt with that guy. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes if you ask me."

"No one asked you, Jay. But on the contrary, she seemed to have piqued someone's interest, don't you think?"

At the same time, both of them turned their heads to face Xander who had remained quiet till now, save for the smirk plastered on his face.

They turned their heads to look at each other and then turned back to look at their friend, then followed his line of gaze again.

He was still staring intently at the wild beauty. They watched as she pulled up a taxi and entered, then left before they all settled back down on their seats.

"What just happened?" Jay leaned in close and whispered to Sky, his eyes still glued on his friend, Xander as though he was not normal.

"I am not quite sure myself, but it seems Xander has finally found a girl he is interested in," Sky whispered back, with his hands over his mouth.

"Why are we whispering?"

"I am not sure. I should be asking you that, you started it," Sky complained, his eyes darting every now and then between Xander and Jay.

"Did you two idiots think I did not hear you?"

Quickly both men sat apart and straightened themselves on their seats.

"Ahem!"

"What are you talking about, Xan?" Jay tried to feign innocence when he was clearly caught red-handed.

"Drive," Xander said to the driver before fixing his cold gaze on his too mischievous friends.

He needn't ask what they were talking about or thinking for that matter as it was clearly written on their faces.

"Spill, you like her Xan, don't you?"

It was Sky who spoke up first, his face turned serious all of a sudden, with a hint of laughter as the corners of his eyes cringed, clearly unaffected by his friend's cold gaze.

'This sly fox, he is worse than Jay. Pretending to be serious and uninterested, whereas he is mega interested.'

"It's not like you are a saint or anyone is holding it against you if you did, just confess it."

"What does it matter to you two?"

"It matters because, you, my friend, you need a woman in your life."

"Pff, you wish. I do not need one," he refuted Jay's statement.

"Admit it. The mighty Xander Warner asked the driver to pull over just to see an almost theft incident. Come on, who do you think would believe that? It is not today we see theft cases, you have never been interested before, but today you were."

"What baffles me is that, if it is a fierce woman, Xander has seen them but never had much interest in any unlike her, why?"

'At least one question that makes sense,' Xander thought to himself.

"Pff, what do you mean by them, Sky? Most of the girls chasing after him are all weak and lovey-dovey, wanting to be pampered and spoiled. All except Caroline, she, on the other hand, is a dominator."

"I do not know, Sky. There was something different about her, something intriguing in his own way," Xander finally confessed to his friends.

He couldn't explain it himself, but he felt his heartbeat increase upon seeing her. Never has he felt that way for anyone, not even the so-called Caroline.

It was a different feeling entirely, one that awoke something inside him.

"Hmm, if it's the wild type you like, I can get some up in our private suite at the club, all that is left would be your presence. What say you? Are you game?" Jay arched his brow at him, showing his white teeth in a grin as he awaited his response.

"No. I've got things to look into."

"Oh, come on! You guys love ditching me!" Jay complained, raising his hands in the air.

"If you do not behave, I would send you to Antarctica or the desert for a month."

Hearing his friend threaten him, Jay comported himself and sulked to himself in his seat.
