Blood. Blood was dripping from my forehead. Panting, I tried to catch my breath. For a minute, I was tempted to look back and see if the Japanese Yakuza was chasing after me.

I muttered a curse, trudging through the quiet street, making sure to hide in the shadows, avoiding all streetlights.

Stupid Japanese Mafia Boss and his claim to rule the mafia world.

But I will never let him.

Not after killing my entire family.

Thinking about them, a brief flashback of my father screaming for me to flee before a bullet passed through his head, instantly ending his life, appeared in my line of vision.

I clenched my hands into fists, sadness and fury burning inside me.

I will make sure that the Japanese Mafia will pay for what they did. 

I will avenge my father. My family.

From this day forward, they have declared war.

And war they shall have.

Blades & Roses

In three shots, two out of three of Takahashi's men fell on the ground, groaning as they clutched their wounded legs.

Bullets fired in my direction as the other one started to flee, leaving his companions behind while Nico pulled the trigger in quick succession, ridding the other two goons of their weapon.

"Weak," Astherielle whispered, teasing Nico.

"Very funny Elle," Nico countered.

"Less talking, more shooting," I warned Nico.

"You heard the Boss, Elle. Now, shut up."

"Whatever," Astherielle replied nonchalantly.

I could imagine her rolling her eyes, sitting back, and smirking while waiting for the end game of what we were doing.

"P-please spare us," One of Takahashi's men begged, his lips quivering while the other one glared in my direction as Nico pointed a gun on his head.

"Oh, don't worry, we shot you at a safe place for a reason."
