Only a Goodbye

"Sabina, can you hear me?" Dad asked me in a quiet voice.

"Yeah dad, are you okay?"

"I'll be okay, just got shot in the chest by a Brotherhood member. I'm in the Railroad hospital right now, I heard them talking. They say I'm gonna die but I don't believe them."

"Dad! What the hell, I'm coming back there! Tell Dez to send a ship!"

"No, honey I'll be alright. The mission always comes first."

"Dad?-"

"I'll be okay."

"Fine, but the minute I'm done I'm coming back for you."

"I love you, Sabina."

"Love you too, Dad."

I hung up the call with Dad and continued to talk to Dez.

"Hay killer, Dez again, sorry about your old man. Anyway good news, I found a ship that has force jumping so I'll be leaving in just a minute once we get it activated. So goodbye for now, Commander."

I didn't answer Dez I just hung up the call and put BT on auto-walk. My head was spinning and I couldn't think straight. To much information was coming at me too fast and i couldn't cope with anything. My dad was always someone who wouldn't believe something until it happened, so I knew the doctors we correct. I needed to be with him, I needed to hear his voice, and not just through the speaker of some stupid computer. He was going to die and he knew it. This new life I have to live is the worst thing I could've imagined. I just want this to be over and be able to have a normal family, not have to battle monsters and fight off radiation. Was I the only one feeling this much pain? No of course not, some people have it way harder.

I looked back through the glass of BT and saw the snowy place that I landed on. Angel had it worse. She's being abused, I need to help her. I need to help someone. Ever sense I was a kid, helping someone always made me feel better, and sense all this started I've helped so many people, but to me it wasn't enough.
