Outside World Stories

When I got to the central plazza of the village there was a carriage with Drakons pushing it and with the reins in hand was an elf, a blonde male elf named Lardo, he is a peddler that came to the village from time to time to buy and sell items, he was a friendly elf that I talked to get more information on this world, as I got close I said to the elf that was using a grey robe and was high enough for my father look up when talking to him.

"Lardo,You are late!"

"A peddler is never late, nor is he early,he arrives precisely when he means to."

And so Lardo, the Grey said, really where do he got that reference?He always do some reference from my old world, one time when I said good morning he said"Mornings are for cofee and contemplation."If I'm not mistaken cofee in this world is only frequentaly used in the south continent that was discovered 15 years ago, it seems that the continent is close to this one but the winds and marine currents made it difficult to go and come back so only one country right now have the means to go to that continent, it seems that they call the south continent Boroa and the continent we are right now is named Leboa.

"Lardo, I want to hear more of your stories, could you tell me some more? I got really interested in the stories of the first king."

The first King of the coutry that I'm in that is called Santo Kingdom, the story that is told is that 300 years ago there was a great invasion of monster in this continent and the first King Santo Lucio I with the hero of the time , the sage and the holy maiden went defeat the unknown being that was called Demon King and defeated it.With the fame , glory and gold that they got each of them went to create the four major countries of this continent, the Santo Kingdom made by the sword saint Santo Lucio I, Holy Empire of Meleia made by the Holy maiden Meleia Dourada, the Magic Kingdom of Magus made by Magus Antony and the Reis Empire made by the Hero Logan Reis, in the tale the hero god of the religion of this village Tamar helped the hero party for some time but he was the king at the time and the monster invasion weakened his country and he needed to go back and lead his people but with time his kingdom couldn't stand anymore and in the final invasion Tamar fought against the ancient legendary dragon Kold, with his tamed beast saving the people while Tamar fought against the dragon but he perished and god raised his soul together with the hero party when they died.The survivors of the dragon attack spreaded across the continent seeking help to the new kings that defeated the demon lord.

"Sure!But first I need to do some business with the villagefolk, okay? Let's see.... today I will tell you the story of how monsters became animals."

"Really?Yay!It's a promisse, okay? We meet at the tavern at the evening after the market close."

I run back to the lake where a left my fishing rod see if anyfish got the bait i left, there was some fish in the line but it was to small to eat so I freed it.I went home to think of ways to meke better use of my mana pool,I got some ideas but well when I tried I ended up puking because of the method, but that meant that worked if I just get used to it.It should be around time the market close so I ran to the village's tavern and look for Lardo.Ah!Found him!

"Oi!Lardo how went the sales?"

"Oh?Ah,hi Alex I got to sold some thing yes but since I arrived a bit late today I didn't got to sell much."

"Hee, didn't you said that a peddler is never late?"

As I said that Lardo got embarassed and ignored my words by drinking his... eto I think it's alcohol but well the type of alcohol is different from my old world because the plants and fruits are different, if I'm not mistaken that is a fermented fruit juice well I never drunk in my past life so I don't know much about alcohol anyway.

"Don't tease your elders, idiot brat."

What are you a tsundere? It would be much better if you were a girl, but it's still kinda.... cute,I think?

"Anyway you were going to tell me about monster and animals, right?"

I try to change topic to what I really came to do here.

"Ah, right I said that so sit that here cames a story"

Again with the refernces I think that only makes sense in my country and that is already old, and just for you to know I'm not going to tell anything about the me in my past life, just know that I'm still a teenager and quite childish,I think.

"In the past there where only monsters, but one day a woman found a hurt monster cub, she then took the monster home and started to feed and raise the cub, the cub growed fast and in just some months the cub became and adult monster, but even when adult when it should had became more agressive the monster was grateful to the woman, but the others villagers were afraid of that the monster might just kill somebody out of nowhere.One day the monster vannished from the village, the villagers were glad that the monster wouldn't come to the village, but they didn't know that the woman's father was sick and the woman didn't have experience in farming, when they found out that the family had been starving for some time they thought that the monster had eaten everything,then the monster came back with monster meat, he was giving it to the family, later on the monster gave birth and her child would be friendly just like the mother, later in time the village became an kingdom where they used monsters as companions and labor, that was the kingdom that later bacame the Beast Kingdom that would end with the hero Tamar."

"And that is a two on one story how the kingdom of Tamar came to be and how monsters became animals."

I see so an animal is just a tamed or domesticated monster,huh.

"That is an interesting story, I would really like a animal to call it mine, like one that come to bacame a companion, right how about you give me one egg of your drakon, it could come in handy."

"Do you know how much it costs a drakon?They are quite expensive you know, do you think I can just give you a drakon egg like that, I need to make a living too y'know?"

A drakon is basically a dinossaur of the size of a velociraptor at the jurassic franchise but it can come in diferent tipes, for exemple the is the one that looks like a big chiken with teeth, then there is some that are like a parassaurolophus, basically they are like dino pets put it simple but they are thing that even high nobilty like to have

"But by the low price of 5 copper I can give you a random moster egg if you take good care of it you can have at the low end a sphinx and at the high end a drakon, but if you don't take care of it you might lose an arm or leg or maybe your life."

Uaa... is he trying to scare me? but a sphinx ,eh?They are cunning and they often make trials to decide if somebody can or not be their master and it's said that their upper body is from a beautiful human woman and lower body of a lion , lucky for me I have 10 copper with me right now,but...

"What is the deal then how did you got hold to that egg, or you just don't want that egg because it's a pain to sell a adult animal or you really don't know what it is and don't want it being born in the middle of the night getting killed by it."

"Saa...What do y'think it is?"

This man sure is hiding something and is hinting it to me, from the references to it's sudden mood change to embaressed to cunning

"Very well, I will fall for your provocation here 5 copper."

Lardo give me an egg with a yellow color, let's see what loyal companion shall be born from this egg.
