Histoire was home fifteen minutes before Jotham's expected return. The sun had secluded itself and the darkness had just begun to envelope the sky; a few minutes past sunset. The photo shoot took hours and consumed much of her energy. What depleted the last vestige of the vigorous exhilaration was that she was denied what she had anticipated earlier; meeting Oliver Swanson.
While the photo session took a number of hours, she left the set an hour before she returned to the mansion and spent the free time in a café-bookshop meditating on that morning's colloquy. An exiguous amount of compression around her head indicated a headache, and that was Histoire's queue to acknowledge that it was time to desist the overthinking and head for home.
