Chapter 22: Fantasy Trolling

*Groan*

With a quiet groan, I got up on my feet and stretched my not-so sore limbs.

I turned my head to the side when I heard another groan, seeing Touya also waking up from our blackout.

"Where are we?"

He asked wearily and also stood up and began looking around at our surroundings.

I did the same instead of answering, noticing that it was the same place as it was stated in the Light Novel and shown in the anime.

We're currently under the shade of a huge tree. Looking farther ahead into the distance, I could make out the large mountains and grassy fields, oh, and there's also that dirt road, just a little further from our current place.

"Welp, I see the road. So, what nnow"

I asked, breaking the silence.

"Hm. Well, there doesn't seem to be anything here yet, nor any sort of vehicle that we can hitch a ride with. And, we're still left with a question."

He answered, looking a little unsure himself.

"Yup, it is either left, or right. That, is the question~! Man, I always wanted to say that!"

I said and continued and added one of the nonsense I have always wanted to say.

"Haha. That really is the question right now. But anyway, we didn't get to introduce ourselves properly earlier. So let's take this from the beginning. I'm Mochizuki Touya."

Touya saidbwith a smile and extended his hand.

Looking at his gesture, I smiled. I reached in return and shook it.

"Nice to meet you then. My name is Kross, just Kross. People from my world doesn't really do surnames unless you're nobility."

I said and let go of his hand.

"Hm. I see. But Just curious, you can choose to not answer if it is uncomfortable but, how did you die in your Earth exactly?"

"Well, not at all. And honestly, I don't really know myself. I have kinda stayed in the void for too long and some of my memories got erased."

I said with a wry smile, which he smiled in understanding.

"I see. I'm sorry to hear that. Must have been hard, huh?"

"Well, not really. I did meet a lot of new people and made friends in my new world, after all. So I'm totally contented right now."

I stated with a smile as I slid my hands into my pockets.

"Well, I hope my situation will turn out like yours, Kross."

"Heh. Of course it will! Just wait. Besides, with your nature, I'm sure it wouldn't be long."

"Hahaha. I hope so. Oh, by the way, Kross. How old are you exactly? It's kind of a bit confusing 'cause you look younger yet your body build is already developed beyond your age. I mean, look at you! You look like you're also fifteen with your body!"

"Mm, I'm twelve. And before you asked, people in Terra matures faster, both in body and mind."

"Eh? Now that's... unexpected."

"Yup, it is."

Touya were about to add something when he was interrupted... by a phone call.

*Ring ring~*

*Ring ring~*

"Uh..."

I could only stare as Touya got his phone out of his pocket and looked who the caller was.

"The caller ID says it's God."

"Then it is."

He stared for a moment before answering.

"... Right."

He tapped on the answer button and old man god's voice was immediately heard.

"Ooh! It went through! I see that you two have arrived safely."

"Uhm, yes. We did."

"Mm. Good, good! I'm just going to address something that I have forgot to mention. The maps and compasses and such on both of your phones should be compatible with this world now. I hope they help you out some!"

"Wow, really? That's great timing, actually. We were a bit lost and wondering where we should go."

Touya answered wrily.

"I had assumed so. I could have just as easily dropped you off in the middle of a town, but think of the panic that would ensue. I had thought you two would rather avoid that, so I dropped you where nobody would see you instead. Of course, that brings us to the problem of both of you being lost in the middle of nowhere."

"Haha. You wouldn't say."

I answered with a light chuckle.

"Yup, what he said."

Touya added.

"Ohoho! Young Kross, nice to hear from you! Oh, and once again, I apologise for the trouble. Well, if you follow your map, you should be able to reach the nearest town without incident. Do your best out there. Goodbye now~."

"Will do. Later."

"Later old man."

Then the call ended.

I brought out my phone from my pocket and ran the map application.

Our location was displayed in the very center of the map. A road stretched alongside that point, definitely the dirt road I've seen earlier. Zooming a bit further, I took note of the little dot to the west, marking a single town. And yes, it was the town of Reflet.

Determining our location, I put my smartphone straight to my Inventory.

Wouldn't want to lose it now, after all.

"Well, I guess that's we're we're headed."

He stated and fired a simple compass app before keeping his phone in his pocket.

I nodded in agreement as he made our way over to the dirt road, heading west.

"Oh, just one more thing. How do we go from here exactly?"

Touya suddenly asked as we walked.

"Hm?"

I stared at him and raised an eyebrow, prompting him to continue.

"I mean, we're in a new world and I doubt that the money on my wallet that I somehow got to keep would be of any use, you know?"

"Mm, that certainly is a problem. I don't think it will be hard in the later date though as I'm sure that there's a guild here, just like in my world. But the problem is how we would start."

"Exactly."

"Hm, let's see. I do have some of the money from my world in my Inventory, and also some of the magic beast materials from my earlier hunt, maybe we could use those as a starting income."

I thought with a hand held on my chin.

"Oh, that would help, hopefully. But I think it would be unfair to you, you know?"

"Heh. What are you saying? We're in a new world and currently have zero acquaintances aside from each other, so it's only right to share in this situation. Besides, old man god did asked me to accompany you in your travels."

"Yeah, you're right. But still..."

He said, with his hesitant tone.

"Hm? What's that noise?"

I asked as my ears suddenly picked up a sound from the distance.

And if my guess is right, then this should be the designer arriving.

"Eh? What do you mean?"

"There's some noise coming from the distance, wait... Let me chech it."

I said as Touya looked on with curiousity.

I walked a little away from him and summoned a pair of wings on my back, much to Touya's surprise and immediately shot up through the air and looked in the distance.

And just as I have guessed, there's a carriage heading heading our way, and it's coming fast.

I floated gently to the ground and retracted my wings.

"It seems that there's a carriage heading our way. Maybe we could hitch a ride with them? What do you think? Though,"

I stated and also suggested him some possible plans that may hasten our travels, but then I paused when I saw the looks he's giving me.

"H-how did you that?! You just sprouted a pair of wings and flew!"

He exclaimed.

Realizing where he's coming from, I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly.

I actually forgot to tell him that... Teehee?

"I forgot to tell you. Actually, I'm not fully human. In my world, my kind is known as a Dragon born, though I'm still rare even there. Not to mention that I'm still a little bit special even from my own race."

Hm, yeah. Told him about my true race. Well, we're in another world and this world's system is a lot lighter than in my world. So LESS f*cking and stupid nobles.

"Wait, dragonborn? As in a Dovahkin? Now that sounds cool."

"Yup, it is. But it comes with a weakness too, a weakness of every one with a dragon's blood running in their veins carries..."

"And that is?"

Touya asked with curiosity and raised an eyebrow in wonder.

But before I could answer him, the sound of the carriage approaching got our attention.

Looking towards the carriage that is fast approaching, I groaned, remembering Reah's and the two other dragons' words. And I rather not take the chances on proving it myself, considering the effects it would cause on me.

"Motion sickness. Meaning that we, the dragon kind, and vehicles that runs directly on the ground ain't compatible, at all."

I continued from where I left off, which got an incredulous look from Touya as his eyes widened.

"Wait, seriously?"

I only nodded and looked at the carriage that's getting closer and closer.

"That, sounds like it kinda sucks."

"It does. But anyway. Wanna bet?"

"Bet on what exactly?"

He asked.

"I bet that carriage will stop for us, one way or another."

"Heh~. You wouldn't say. Then I bet that it won't and just pass us by."

We continued to walked until the carriage ran past us.

"Heh, told y-"

Touya said with a slight smirk, but before he could even finish, the carriage halted in a screech.

"You were saying?"

I asked, sarcastically as I watched a short man stumble out of the said carriage as he made a beeline straight at Touya.

"You! Yes, you there! The two young men!"

The short man shouted as he barrelled his way through, and the next second,

*Bam!*

Looking closely, it was older gentleman with graying hair and a splendid mustache. He wore a splendid scarf over a mantle, and rose brooche shone on his chest.

" Uhm, y-yes? W-what is it? And please stop shaking me!"

Touya asked as he stuttered with the man shaking him excited and with Touya trying to push him away.

It was an amusing sight, so I couldn't help but snicker a bit.

"Oh? Uhm, my apologies. But onto the more important matter, where in the world did you get these clothes?!"

He said as he stepped back a little before immediately asking with stars shining in his eyes as he he'd both of our clothes, running his eyes from mine and Touya's.

"... Sorry?"

Touya voiced out, clearly still a bit confused.

Alright, this feels a little creepy. I know Zanac is a fashion designer, so I understand his enthusiasm, but no way in hell I'll sell him my clothes!

Besides, these ones are my favorites...

He shot forward but I immediately stepped back so he instead caught Touya and began his inspections.

"I've never seen a design such as this. And the way this was sewn... How could this have been made...? Hrmm... Oh! And that one too! Could I also-"

"No thank you."

Zanac said as he excitedly ran his hand on the public before shifting his eyes towards me, and was about to ask before I immediately turned him down.

"I see. Well that's a shame. But anyway. Could perhaps sell me those clothes?!"

Zanac suddenly asked as he put on a hopeful look.

Touya looked lost for a bit before a hint of mischief shone in his eyes as he let out a cunning smirk.

Haha, guess I'll be witnessing the first troll in the history of a fantasy world that have started it all, if you know what I mean.

He gave be a look before I sent him a thumbs up, adopting the same smirk.

"I would love to, but you see... I have acquired these clothes from a traveling merchant. If you would rather have them, I don't mind handing them over. However, that puts me at a loss, as I'd have nothing to wear, and I doubt that my friend over there have some extra on him. If you might kindly take us into town and help me find a new set of clothes, we would be very grateful."

Man~! This guy's unnatural!

"Very well! Step aboard and accompany me to town! I shall have new clothes prepared for you on the double. You may sell your current garments once that is taken care of, and you there, friend. Would you-"

He gleefully agreed without hesitation and even offered a ride before turning to me, but I once again turned him down, much to his disappointment.

"I would have to say no to that too, sorry. These clothes are a gift from someone, so it holds a lot of sentimental values for me, I hope you understand."

"I see. Then I wouldn't impose further. I'm just glad I at least acquired one fine set! Now come along! Let's get you two into town!"

"It's a deal."

Touya immediately answered before following Zanac into his carriage, but I remained behind which caught Zanac's attention.

"Hm, what's wrong? You don't like my carriage?"

He asked.

"Ah, no. It's not that. It's just that carriages and me don't go too well together."

"Mm. Well you, my friend here has an awful case of motion sickness."

Touya backed up.

"I see, that really does sound awful. But then, how are you going to get to town? It's still a bit of a distance from here after all?"

"Well, I could fly. Or maybe I'll just stay on top of the carriage, that way the view on the horizon will keep my mind away from the motion, which will hopefully lessen the effect of the sickness."

"Oh! Now that is interesting! Please do as you see fit! I could vouch for you when we are at the gate of the town so that you can get a fast entry!"

"I see! Thank you!"

And with that, they boarded the carriage with Touya sending me a nod and I also did in return.

As for how I'm going to do this?

Heck. I'll fly, obviously. No way I'll try my BS of "staring onto the horizon and hope for the lessened effect".

If I somehow got a skill that allows me levitation even without my wings, then I would have considered so, and would even try to ride inside, but that'll only be IF, I acquired one. But wait, if I remember correctly, I think I have the skill [Flight], but I doubt that I could still even go on my normal speed I could go with my wings... Hrmmm. Gotta test this later...

And with that, the journey passed with Touya and Zanac having their conversations and introduction, and Touya even introduced me!

Which required me to fly low alongside the window of the carriage, much to Zanac's and his coachman's surprise when they saw my wings, and to Touya's amusement.

Well, I'm just glad that I didn't frighten the horses.

-fin.

[Author's rants: Yoh!

Well, this chap is a bit plain, aye? But don't worry, we're still in the beginning and there'll be much more later that you may find amusing! Oh! And especially that one! And the other one too! Ohhh~! And I can also do something on that event!

... You don't really understand what I'm referring to, do you?

So be patient and just wait!😜😆😜]
