Chapter 11

"I am very happy to welcome the future of the Kazuma family."

Riyu smiled at him, "I am so happy to hear that."

Goro hadn't said a word his eyes were still at the door that Yunari left through. Shito didn't notice and he continued his conversation with Riyu.

Goro abruptly stood up and mumbled that he wanted to go to the bathroom. The evening was going well and this would benefit both families.

A gunshot ran through the night and the whole house was quiet, Shito ran inside the house. Yoongi and Jin came running to Riyu but she asked a guard to watch them as she followed Shito.

The master bedroom's door was ajar when they entered Goro stood with a gun in his hands and Yunari laid in a pool of blood. "Goro! What have- Riyu call an ambulance!"

Goro ran from the room his clothes stained with blood and Shito was at his wife's side. "Yunari, you'll be alright."

The light was leaving her eyes, "Shito... Please save our Yumei and get her out of this life."

Riyu was screaming at the phone and she turned towards Shito. "They're at the gates-" She saw it too; Yunari wasn't breathing anymore.

The paramedics arrived and tried to revive Yunari but to no avail, the strapped her quickly and pumped chemicals to make sure the baby survives.

Shito was lost and Riyu took his hand, "I am so sorry..."

Shito turned to Riyu, "Sorry will not bring her back!"

Riyu couldn't bear to see him like this and it broke her heart that she knew her husband was in love with Yunari all his life. This was where she made her decision. "Shito, I will help you to raise your daughter."

He turned to her and she saw how devastated he was, he just lost his soulmate and here she was offering to replace her.

"You are willing to leave your children?" His voice was a hoarse whisper.

She wasn't doing this willingly, her children were her everything but this was her way to repay for what her husband had done.

"I have to make amends, Shito."

He turned his back on her and walked out of the room but paired at the door. "Will you be able to live with this secret?"

"Yes..."

"We have to go to the hospital."

Riyu joined him in the car, the estate was a mess the Kazuma family have thrown the Kim family out so that there was no trace of them being there.

Shito's heart was racing when they got to the hospital the doctor welcomed him and took them to the children's ward. The nurse welcomed them and took them to the incubator where his daughter laid with tubes attached.

"She will forever have a weak immune system."

Shito wasn't listening and stuck his hand through the hole and touched her small hand. 'Welcome to the family Yumei.'

A knock at his door brought him from his thoughts and he closed the drawer. "Yes?"

Riyu opened the door. "Shito... I found out that Kim Goro had died a year ago."

'So the bastard finally met his end.'

He looked at Riyu. "I haven't thanked you for your sacrifices Riyu."

Riyu closed the door and stopped in front of him. She never told him that she was in love with him from the first time she and Yunari met them at the arcade back in high school but he only had eyes for Yunari.

"If I had to choose I wouldn't have changed my decision but the only thing I would have changed was to bring both my children with me."

Shito gave her a nod, he knew that was the hardest sacrifice she had to make was to give up her children and by doing that, to raise his and Yunari's.

"At least Yoongi is back in your life."

She gave him a nod but what hurt was that Jin wasn't there with them. He was always the most impressionable child. "I can't thank you enough for-"

Shito shook his head, "No, it is I that should thank you."

When Yoongi and Jimin left the office Riyu was still standing at the foot of the stairs. She hadn't gone up to see if Yumei was okay.

Jimin quickly excused himself and now Yoongi was standing there alone, Riyu looked towards him. "Something wrong, love?"

How could she stand there and still pretend that nothing was wrong with this picture? "Have you checked on Yumei?"

She shook her head, "No. I wanted to see if you were alright."

The truth is he wasn't alright, he was so close to his mother but yet so far from her. "You should check on her, you know how fragile she is."

Riyu lifted an eyebrow. "Do you care for her now?"

Yoongi walked to the stairs, "If you won't do it I will." Yoongi didn't give her a second glance and climbed the stairs.

Riyu looked at Yoongi's back, he still hasn't forgiven her for leaving them and how do you explaining that to your boy? She turned and knocked on Shito's office door.

Yumei was breathing hard, where was did she leave it? It was her safety net and she never went somewhere without it.

She thought back to where she could have left it. She did put it in her bag when they have left this morning and then she sat down in the caf- that was where she left it!

She hoped it would still be there when she goes back tomorrow. There was a soft knock in her bedroom door and she put her empty bag down.

She wasn't in the mood to argue with anyone and she was still angry at her father. He definitely placed Yoongi at the University with her to look after her.

When will he finally let her grow up? She walked to her door and inhaled as she opened it, thinking it was her mother. "Mom, I said I am not hungr-"

She paused it wasn't her mother but Yoongi. "What do you want?"

Yoongi stared at her. "I bought you ice cream today and this is how you treat me?"

Yumei felt her anger rising. "I am not in the mood to play this game with you."

She was about to close her door in his face when he placed his hand against it. "To bad because I want to play."

Yumei tried hard to push her door close but Yoongi didn't budge. "Leave me alone!"

Yoongi was stunned at her tone, it almost felt like she was hurting and that meant something was wrong. "Yumei... What is the matter?"

After the conversation, he had with Mr Kazuma he was still angry at himself, he had turned away from her as she called the person she knew all her life mother, and he couldn't utter a word.

He peered at her face, there were tears in her eyes. 'Shit! What could be wrong?'

Yumei didn't answer him, she didn't want to play this game and Yoongi always had a way to get the truth from her.

"Mei-Mei?"

'Not him too!' She tried with all her might again to close the door but Yoongi put his weight against it. "I am not leaving until you talk to me."

"To bad because I do not want to talk to you."

He entered her bedroom and took the door from her hand and closed it, Yumei looked at up at him. "Just..."

Yoongi looked around and noticed that her bag's contents were all over her bed and that is when it clicked.

"Your book is missing."

She didn't answer him, she just stood there. She was sad that when they were in her father's office he turned away from her and that meant he was hiding something from her.

And here he was trying to her to spill her guts to him but he was still withholding from her.

Yoongi turned to her. "Yumei..." He saw that she averted her gaze from him and he understood that she was frustrated with him.

If only she knew that he had a battle within himself. He wanted to tell her everything, that she was the heir of a notorious Yakuza family, that his father had killed her mother and Riyu was nothing to her.
