Revolt!

It had been 10 minutes since heavy gunfire went through their ways. The shields, although robust, could still succumb to being pierced by a bullet here and there. No worries for the formal army though, the flying bullet would be blocked by the sack of flesh called meatshields.

That way, the soldiers could comfortably fire without much risk of being shot. In the battle, the kill to death ratio was around 5:1, excluding the meatshields' lives.

In another word, it was decisive. The enemy did not have mobile shields or cover and in a battle of firearms, a prepared defender will have the advantage.

Even then, they weren't in great shape. Neither was Tang Ling.

He had been struck by three stray bullets which had managed to pierce the thick shield. He could thank his lucky stars that the third bullet split in half when it smacked the corner of the shield's hole. It would have been a direct hit otherwise.
