ONE

Another school year. Another first day. She walked through the hallway like a queen. Head held high, with a blank face. It was her signature cold and emotionless expression. Everyone stared at her in awe. They called her the 'Queen Bee' of the school. But that wasn't her only nickname. They also called her The Troublemaker of Princeton High. Her reign was ruthless. She was the daughter of Jeremy Simpson, the CEO slash owner of Simpson & Co. and also the heir of her family. She would be the next CEO of the company once her father retired. She was Claire Simpson.

Some envied Claire. Some thought she was great. But one thought she was a rival. When everyone praised Claire, that one person bad mouthed about her. Jessi Scott loathed Claire because Claire was an 'Impossible to Overcome' obstacle between her and her only goal.

While all students stared at Claire in awe, one new student stared at get her in surprise. On a hot and humid day, she was wearing a full sleeved T-shirt and ankle-length denims. The student was so shocked, he patted on a boy's back who was busy looking at Claire with his group of friends.

"Why is that girl wearing full sleeves? Isn't it blazing hot today?" the new student asked.

"Does it even matter? Look at how pretty she looks." the boy was looking at her admiringly.

"She does. But could you tell me where the administration office is? I'm new here."

"Oh, Hi! I'm Cole. You can join us y'know." the boy pointed at his other friends. They all smiled at the new friend warmly.

"Hi, I'm Alex." he smiled back.

"Let's go to the administration office then." Antony said. He was one of Cole's friends. They all led Alex to the administration office where he collected his schedule, homeroom number, locker number and student ID Card. Coincidentally, he was in the same homeroom as Cole and their schedules matched as well. The others were in other homerooms and shared a few classes with Alex and Cole.

"Did you see all of 'em? They were all starin'at that bitch." Amelia complained. She was Jessi's best friend. Jessi, Amelia and another girl named Bethany had been friends since middle school. Jessi and Amelia were best friends but Bethany was more like a follower. She wasn't left out because she shared some personality traits with Jessi. She always wanted popularity, she was mean and she knew how to beef with anyone's reputation for her benefits.

"Yeah! I wish they hated her." Bethany said. As usual, she was walking behind Jessi and Amelia like the follower she was. Sometimes, she got on their nerves, but she was of great help.

"Let's not spread negative energy on the very first day, shall we? I know you hate her, even I do, but not now. Okay?" Jessi said calmly. She had her resting bitch face on.

As the three girls entered their allotted classroom, they saw Claire entering before them. All of them realized that she had been walking ahead of them all along and that she had heard them bad mouth about her the whole way.

The first period was History. Who liked to have History as their first period, on a Monday? Of course no one. Frustrated, Claire took a seat at the back of the classroom. It wasn't only the subject that annoyed her. All the bad mouthing she had just heard, also irked her. She couldn't wait to shower all her anger somehow. Claire had tons of hatred and anger for Jessi bottled up. Now that she was the Queen Bee, a lot of things were in her hands. As all students took their seats, a new teacher took a step inside the room leaving a fair, brunet boy on the for step.

The teacher greeted all the students and they all stood up to greet him back. Claire, unlike the others, was so uninterested that she didn't bother to stand up. An annoyed look smeared on her blank face. He was a new teacher and not being greeted by one of the students, for sure offended him. So, he pointed a finger at Claire and asked, "Hey, you. Don't you think it's disrespectful to not greet the teacher?"

Claire looked up at him with a raised brow and scoffed. She got up from her seat, grabbed her supplies and walked towards the teacher. She stopped right in front of him. He received an intense glare from Claire. If looks could kill, he would have been dead by then.

"Listen up, nerd. If you don't wanna be fired, let me be." Claire left, leaving the teacher and the new student dumbfounded. As for the other students, they had seen much worse.

The teacher looked at a student sitting in the front row with a questioning look plastered on his face. The girl soon realized and said, "Her father is the owner of our school and being the successor of the family, she is responsible for hiring and firing the staff."

He nodded as he understood the situation. "Anyways," the teacher continued, looking at the boy kindly, "Could you please introduce yourself?"

"Hello. My name is Alex Wembley. Nice to meet y'all. I hope we get along." his handsome face and sweet voice lured everyone's attention. But, one got lost seeing him. He swept her of her feet.
