The Wedding Traitor

IT was a week now since that incident took place. Eunice could control herself now but at times the cry came. She couldn't stand the sight of Jimmy,yet alone meet him at his office. The normal routine started all over again. Jimmy on the other hand, noticed she disliked him and kept to his own business to avoid any trouble.


Yesterday, was her mother's death anniversary,27th of July. She visited her mother's elder sister, Aunt Mona and sympathized with her.


"No matter what Eunice, always know your mother, Theresa,is always and would always be there for you" Aunt Mona learned about Eunice's agony with Jimmy and sympathized with her also. "Remember you promised me Jimmy won't win?" she smiled at Eunice. "Well a promise cannot be broken. Except you two win together. I'm not saying you should back down and reconcile with him but I'm only telling you to keep the pact of your promise" Aunt Mona said.


Those were the words that gave Eunice strenght. Still going to work and seeing Jimmy everyday, those words of Aunt Mona.


As she approached Jimmy's office,she heard sounds inside and quickly opened the door to see Delilah.


"Oh hey..." She shivered on seeing the door open that fast.


"What are you doing here?" Eunice gave her those inquisitive eyes.


"What kind of question is that? Of course I'm in my husband's office. Is anything wrong with that?" Delilah asked.


Eunice hated her immediately. "And he's my boss" she said.


"Why are you acting rude towards me?" Delilah asked.


"Never mind" Eunice said and continued immediately; "when did you meet Jimmy for the first time?"


"More like when did he meet me" Delilah giggled.


"I was lost, wretched. He was really like a God sent angel. I was an orphan who was thrown away from my own family and as soon as he set his eyes on me in the beach..." She paused; "wait-- why are you asking me this question?" She asked feeling suspicious.


Eunice knew if she wanted to get what she wanted, she needed to act cool and nice to Delilah. "Oh nothing. It was just sudden you know,he was my old friend and when I found out he was married it looked so soon. Anyway you were saying..."


"Oh yes. He took me from the beach and he fell in love with me instantly and the next thing you know,we got married" she said.


Something wasn't right, Eunice knew. It all sounded fishy,she was highly suspicious. "Wow" she continued,she had to know the date; "when did he find you?"


Eunice felt disgusted,why should he come in now?


"Oh darling,we were just having a nice chat before you walked in" Delilah said.


"Really...?" Jimmy said and they kissed. It made Eunice angry the more.


"Oh I must go now darling,your food is in the drawer" she smiled and bade Eunice goodbye.


"Maybe we can continue our chat another time..." Eunice said as she left.


"I just came to tell you that those family has paid their money" she said and left.


Jimmy shrugged,so the argument wasn't over? He thought.
