IHM-XXVII

ELISA SMITH

The weekend had flown by in a blur of family time and shared moments. It was still dark since it was almost five in the morning, I found myself waking up early, eager to start the day. With a sense of purpose, I quietly slipped out of bed and made my way to the kitchen leaving Nikolai to enjoy a few more moments of peaceful slumber which was rare since he was normally awake before.

The aroma of sizzling bacon and freshly brewed coffee soon filled the air, a comforting and familiar scent that seemed to announce the beginning of another day. I prepared a hearty breakfast, mindful of the preferences of my two little ones, Leandro and Tessa. Their lunches for school were neatly packed, and their school bags sat ready by the door.
