I walked back to my room to see her lifeless body with the mask that was helping her breath over her nose. What I saw in her journal and Levi’s words hit me so hard. I wanted to get close to her but I was scared she would wake up and see me. 
I didn’t deserve to be close to her after all I’ve done yet I couldn’t stay away from her. 
I went to the bed and feel on my knees, the tears in my eyes had made my vision blur so I blinked to let them flow freely. 
“I’m sorry Elisa,” I mumbled, my eyes on her burnt hand….the same hand I burnt. Looking at it brought all the memories back and I fucking hated myself. I hated myself for everything I had put her through and I just wanted to put a gun to my head and pull the trigger.

With a sense of determination, I selected an outfit that conveyed my readiness to face the past and embrace the future. The clothes I chose were neither too casual nor too formal, striking a balance that reflected my intention to approach this meeting with an open heart.

I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions coursing through me. Excitement, anxiety, and curiosity all vied for my attention, but above all, there was a growing desire to uncover the truth about my past and to find a sense of closure.

Nikolai's presence in the room was a comforting reminder of the love and support that surrounded me. His reassuring smile and the gentle touch of his hand on my shoulder served as a silent encouragement.

"Are you ready, Elisa?" he asked softly.

I took a deep breath and nodded, determined to face this moment head-on. "Yes, I'm ready."
