Part 22

"Idiot! The hero killer is after me and that kid in the white armor, right? Don't fight back, it'd be better if you ran away!" It's the hero on the floor speaking. Bitch, weren't you just helping us figure out his quirk a few minutes ago. Way to switch it up.

Honestly, if you're not able to fight and you haven't contributed much, don't yell things during battle. Even if it's serious no one's going to take you seriously.

"It doesn't look like he'll give me an opening to do that. Something clearly changed just now. He's flustered." Todoroki says back. I fire off some beams when he dodges to the side, and try to make it hard for Stain to get above the ice floor without getting burnt.

He's fast, dodging in and out, weaving around the place.

I glance back when I hear a weird sound. Looking down I realize it's Iida trying to start up his legs? Do his legs break down like cars? Can he open his legs and work on them? Can things break, would they need to heal or would they need to be fixed? I have so many questions.

"Todoroki, can you regulate temperature?" Iida asks him.

"I'm not used to it with my left yet, why?" He yells back over the sound of his own flames.

"Freeze my legs! Without plugging up the exhausts!" He explains. Suddenly Stain throws a knife and Iida intercepts it. Even without his legs working properly he's still pretty fast. I startle when the flame and such get washed away. Stain's coming down and I can only try to defend these two as they figure out what they're doing.

Hands up, palms forward, I ready a number of beams, wincing when I focus more and make even more beams. The pinpoints are no longer clustered in the air in front of my hands, there's too many for that. They cluster around my hands, a bit spaced out but not too clustered. I'm getting a headache, and the world's kind of turning blue?

I think I've held the beams for too long. Stain's still getting close, but I'm not letting these beams fire until I know he won't be able to dodge and hit us at the last moment. Hearing the now-familiar sound of Iida's leg's charging up, I release the beams, too hazy to think about how many I just used. Quickly stepping back I make way for Iida.

I watch with slightly tired and drooping eyes as Iida launches forward, and then startle a bit when my vision picks up Midoriya launching forward as well. I'm kneeling on the ground, my arms down at my sides but I smile as Todoroki watches as well.

With a kick and punch, I smile and blink slowly watching their hits land. Like watching two pro heroes fight off a big bad villain. I blink slowly as my brain mulls over something before catching a thought that makes me wake up a bit.

The pro heroes are going to be here, and If I'm going to continue my usual tradition of getting souvenirs from dimensions and fights, I'm going to require something of Stains.

I'm completely pulled from that when Stain grabs for one of his swords quickly. Right, fights not over til your enemy gives up and is restrained, or unconscious. He slices for Iida, who flinches back just in time to not get cut. Iida delivers another kick and Todoroki begins to send fire that way. I move from my hunched position and squat with my hands up.

I'm tired, and I don't feel like feeling the blast back that hits me whenever I fire. So I'll stand like this so the blast back forces me into the ground. Todoroki's flames hit and my beams do as well, searing almost tiny pinprick holes in a few places.

When Midoriya and Iida begin falling without anything to catch them, I watch as Todoroki summons a little ice ramp for them. I'm getting ready to start firing rapid-fire again like the beginning of this battle but stop when I notice it. Stain's body is just limp in the ice.

No moving, just limp. I let out a small sigh and put my hand on my mask. Taking it off I give Iida and Todoroki a smile. Todoroki doesn't really react which confirms my earlier thoughts while Iida's eyes widen a little.

"Good grief," I say softly, taking in a few large uncovered breathes before putting it back on. Don't know what we're about to encounter out on the streets.

"Let's restrain him and get out to the street," Todoroki says. I watch as he and Midoriya calmly strike up a conversation about restraining Stain. Backing up and sitting down, I smile in Iida's direction. He looks a little shocked, maybe surprised about the whole Stain thing, but I guess it isn't every day you fight the guy who disabled your brother.

I kinda wanna go see how the main streets are doing, what with all the nomu's and fire all over the place from the news. But I'm also super tired, and today's not the day to over-exert myself being a vigilante.

~~~~
I sit next to the tied-up Stain, occasionally glancing from the others to Stain. Iida makes confused eye contact with me and I give him a hesitant smile. We're quiet before I let out a breath.
"I'm taking his shoes," I say simply. Iida jolts back at the sudden sentence while Todoroki just looks at me. "Wh-What?" Iida stutters out.
"I'm taking his shoes. I take something from every battle. His shoes are now mine." I say simply, rubbing my hands together.
"But, but why?" Iida asks, giving me a concern-filled glance. "Why not?" I respond, turning a bit to look up at him. He goes silent and I take the chance. Taking Stain's shoes, I hold them in my hands. They're mine now. This bitch could break out of prison and hunt me down but he's not getting them back.
I smirk and stand up, the shoes tucked under my arm. Mine now bitch, this is what you get for being a bitch Stain.
I turn to see the hero helping to carry Deku. That's nice. I walk up beside them and smile.
"So you're the fox vigilante of the sludge incident." The hero says. I give him a shrug. "I wasn't expecting someone so young. Since you helped save me, I won't say anything about it. Just stay out of trouble." He says before turning back. I guess I hadn't really thought about him seeing my face when I took my little breather.
I turn back and watch as Todoroki begins pulling Stains body out to the main road. Walking up to Iida, I hold up my hand. "Your arms pretty funky huh?" I say. He gives me a look, probably cause of the shoe thing but then sighs and nods a yes. Placing my hand on his arm, I leave it there for a second before taking it back.
"Speaking of things being mine now, your pain is mine now too," I say simply. He gives me another look and I just stick my tongue out at him. I'm way too tired to heal him, but I never really sustained any injuries, so I'll just be taking that pain, thank you.
Walking a bit forwards I quickly tap the other three on the shoulders as well. Now they should feel better. Doesn't mean Midoriya will be able to walk or anything, he just can't feel his legs at the moment. We begin walking out, and I decide to stay quiet and just listen to them speak.
I'm too tired to really do anything else.
I watch with amusement as the moment we get out to the street Midoriya gets kicked in the face by a small old man. Listening in, I figure out this is the person Midoriya's interning with. I can actually tell a bit, from the way the man launched himself forward and landed the kick to Midoriya's face, I can see where Midoriya's learned to jump around at high speeds from.
My eyes widen a bit when I hear more people arrive and speaking. Turning with the rest I watch as more pro heroes show up. I raise my hand and shift my mask a bit. I sit still and watch as they approach and assess the situation.
One goes off to call the ambulance and the police and I just stand a bit slumped. I end up standing next to Midoriya and Todoroki as they go over injuries and such.
"And you?" One of the heroes speaks up. They're behind me and I turn around tiredly. "Just a bit tired." I startle when I make eye contact. I don't know this dude, but they clearly know me from the looks of it. Or they at least know my mask.
"A-Are you Kitsune?" They ask, their voice shaky. I squint at them in confusion. I'm silent for a second, just looking at them trying to figure out what the fuck is going on.
"Yea-Yes. I think." I respond hesitantly, the names new and it probably going to be a bit before I respond immediately. They seem to get excited and for a second I realize that I'm in the presence of someone with the same aura as Izuku when he has his notebook. Y'know, I almost didn't think there were other people like him in the world, but then again that's a stupid thought.
We're cut from whatever conversation was about to happen when a winged Nomu comes flying at us. "Get down!" Someone yells and I immediately duck, my instinct too used to reacting quickly to danger. It's coming at us, and my eyes widen as I watch in something akin to slow motion as Izuku gets picked up by it.
He taken up into the air before anyone can react. Everyone's yelling for him, but no sound comes from me. There's this underlying fear, just, pooling. I haven't gotten close to many of the people here, but I have gotten close to Izuku. I practically consider him a little brother.
What if it drops him? What if it drops him and no one has time to react, and he slams headfirst into the concrete ground? What if that's the way this aspiring hero dies. There's blood from the Nomu splattering everywhere, but I'm too focused on it getting away.
Suddenly there's movement among our group. With a quick glance, I see what looks to be the silhouette of Stain. It rushes forwards towards the Nomu which is now falling out of the air. He practically takes it out of the sky with the force of him hitting it down, and I wince for a second. That was not an easy landing for any of those three over there.
It's dead, at least it seems to be dead. I watch, crouched down still as he twists and removes the knife from the Nomu's head. Everyone's frozen, unsure as to what they're seeing. He's saved Izuku and we're glad for that, but at what cost. What is he planning next, what are we about to see?
There's muttered arguing among the heros. Everyone's on guard getting into fighting positions when there's yelling from behind us. I barely glance back to see the figure of the number two hero. His flames are bright against the city street but I immediately turn back to look at Stain.
They're chatting but my gaze is honed in on Stain. I could be about to lose a younger sibling figure. Izuku's struggling underneath his grasp. His breaths are loud and raspy, I can even hear them from here. Stain's eyes are bloodshot (though they always seem to be) when he glances back.
"Endeavor" Is the only word that comes out of his mouth as he gets up. Endeavor responds with a "Hero-Killer!" as his arms flame up. What kind of idiot. I'm glad for the old man getting him to chill out, cause if he didn't and ended up greatly hurting Izuku because of his stupidity, I'd personally find him in his agency to break his wrists.
Stain's mask falls off to reveal a horrifying face. His nose reminds me greatly of Voldemort.
"You fake.. I must make things right... Someone must be dyed in blood.. I must take back what it means to be a hero!" He says as he slowly walks towards us. His aura is suffocating. Paired with the pure horror of this man walking when he should be too weak too, his aura is at its peak, engulfing the entire street and washing it in a red tone. The moon glistens red with the street at the will of his aura, and it paints a horrifying picture.
Especially when you remember that his name is Hero-Killer for a reason.
He stomps a boot-covered foot into the ground. "Come! Try and get me, you fakes!"
I almost double back when I realize that he just stomped his foot into the ground. I mean, it's still threatening, even in the black boots I had been wearing earlier but those are not his usual boots and I'm surprised he hasn't realized that yet. I'm literally standing here, wearing his shoes in front of him.
"The only one I'll let kill me is the true hero! All Might!" I stumble back and fall along with a few others. His aura's probably suffocating an entire square of the city, with how it blocks out most of my sight and steals the air from my lungs. If this goes on for any longer, I'll have a hard time breathing. It's like smoke, thick and wrapping around the entire area. It hazes out my view and strangles my lungs.
Suddenly it's broken with a sound that reminds me of a pin drop. His knife falls to the ground, making a small metallic clang as it hits. There are no pupils to his eyes, just whites. And his aura has completely disappeared into who knows where. It's like the peace of after a major storm, but everyone's uncertain about moving.
"He's.. He's unconscious." Endeavor's voice breaks us out of our frozen states. Hesitantly, I shakingly bring myself up from off the ground. I mean. Are they sure? We thought he was unconscious earlier and we had the time to check, but how can we know from this far away?
No one else moves as the area completely stills, our eyes still on him. He doesn't move, and after a few seconds, I realize he really is out of it.
