Part 25

I stand on the bottom floor of the agency, holding my briefcase in my hands.

"Thank you for having me," I say to Kamui woods and the others. I smile and wave before hearing someone call my name. "Huntre!"

Looking around, I realize Hibiki is calling me. I cock my head slightly to the side as he runs up to me. He's holding something in his hands. It's the connection I was using when I first got here to make sure the briefcase didn't get left anywhere.

"Oh, thanks! Can you help me with that?" I ask, shifting my case to one hand and offering up my hand. He nods and connects one side to my hand before connecting the other to the handle of the case. Before walking back though, he hands me something.

It's a small piece of paper, with his number on it. "I'd like to get to know you better." He says, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. I smile and nod. "Sure, I'd love to get to know you better as well," I respond, taking the paper and slipping it into my jacket pocket.

I wave bye to them as I begin to walk away. "Make sure to come back and visit!" I hear one of them yell out. I smile wider and wave a bit longer before turning fully and walking out the agency doors.

-------

I sit at a desk, leaning on the edge to watch the others interact. I watch with a smile as everyone falls back into their usual places.

I smile at the sight of Ochako doing small fighting stances and maneuvers where she's standing. Finally, someones taught her how to fight, now I can't wait to see where she'll go from here. I'm leaning against the desk when I look up at the attention brought over.

I hadn't realized how close I was sitting to the other three, I was way too invested in watching the others as they conversed. I watch as the others share concern in our direction. They walk up and I shrink back a bit into my desk, leaving the corner I had been leaning on.

Moving to rest my head and arms on the desk and peaking through my arms, I watch as the other three take a moment before agreeing with them. I wonder if this is going to be a silly story they'll look back on in the future when they're pro heroes. Maybe by then, the real story will have passed around, maybe not in public but at least among the people of this classroom.

I startle when Kaminari mentions the video. I had seen it, I mean, who hasn't seen it by now. I completely understand the video, as it completely shows Stain. He's a person in the gray area of society, and he had good points, but he was just going at it the wrong way.

I shift in my seat as Iida begins to yell for everyone to go back to sitting. It seems pre-stain Iida is back, at least in some form.

_______

I stand with the others as All Might tells out about today's activity.

We're going to be doing a rescue training race, but I'm hesitant from what I can see. There are metal twists and lines everywhere in the area we're about to go in, and while I may move fast, I wasn't made for the metal streets. I can't figure out how I'm going to grip onto those as I run.

Like usual they're probably going to treat this like a serious situation, meaning sinking my claws into a pipe might burst water or something like that and they'll talk about how in a real situation that pipe could've been anything.

Midoriya's fuckin shaking from beside me, dear god is this boy okay. I understand he loves heroes with a passion but I swear one of these days he going to pass out and not wake up for a week.

Field Gamma. A field of industrial factories laid out like a labyrinth. When All Might mentions that we're going to have to keep damage to the buildings at a minimum, everyone turns to Bakugo but I look down at my hands and flex the muscles. My body's rested a lot since the incident, and the skin over my claws has grown back in.

Flexing the hand muscle, I watch as the claws pierce through and break the skin. A bit of blood swells up but it's nothing big. Feeling eyes on me, I turn to see Izuku. He's holding his notebook, and I honestly don't know where he keeps that thing but it's practically always on him.

"You have claws?" He asks. I nod, offering up my hands and flexing them so that the claws come out and go back in. "But your skin had to break to let them through." He mutters.

"It's supposed to keep the claws conspicuous. If the holes were there, you'd be able to see them when I move my hands. This way the claws are only apparent when I want them to be." I say, flexing and watching the claws slide back in.

"You did learn more things at your internship, didn't you?" He asks as I nod. "I've learned a fighting style that's more, me I guess. It's a lot more low to the ground." I explain. He nods, scribbling down something.

I wave my tail a bit, before raising it to swat at his hands as he writes. "Hey, I'm trying to write, come on." He says, trying to lightly push the tail away. I live in his house, he's pretty used to me using my tail. He's especially used to me using it to annoy him.

Letting it fall back down, I curl it around my waist.

_______

I stand with the others as the first group goes. They're muttering about different things and the fact that they think Izuku's at a disadvantage is brought up. I smile slightly and make eye contact with Todoroki before looking back at the screen.

I watch with a wide smile as Sero who was in first gets quickly overtaken by Midoriya, who's sailing through the air at high speeds. He has a hopping style, with goes great with his agility and shows off what Todoroki and I saw during the battle.

My reaction stutters a bit when I realize what the others are starting to realize as well. While I know where he got his style from, and I know it's probably not supposed to be like Bakugo's but actually like Gran Torino's, I and everyone else can see the similarities.

I watch as he jumps but go wide-eyed when he slips. Ah, so that's what it's going to look like when I fail. Understandable.

Sero ends up in first again, and he wins.

When it ends, I walk the quick way to where All Might is standing. There is a quick way, for instruction purposes so the teachers can quickly get into place for the assignment, the students just aren't allowed to use it during the assignment.

I walk over to where Izuku's just laying on the ground, muttering. Giving him arm a little kick, I get him to look up. When he just looks and doesn't do anything, I raise my eyebrow at him before offering my hand and helping him stand.

Sensing All Might getting close, I give Izuku a little pat paired with a small brush off of dust from his shoulder before getting up and walking over to Sero to congratulate him while walking back with them.

______

When it's my turn, it's up against Jirou, Kaminari, Yaoyorozu, and Koda. I'm actually pretty glad I'm not going up against Todoroki, that kid could pull a frozone and make his own path.

I started with the others, on my side and going high speeds. I already knew a number of people here didn't have many advantages, and if I was still acting the way I was before the internship, I wouldn't have an advantage either.

Deciding it might just be best to go all out and put the ones who are traveling normally out of their misery, I bolt forwards.

With a few seconds of slipping as I tried to get higher ground, I'm able to make it up and dart across the area. I aim to land on larger pipes and try to keep from thinner pipes in fear of falling off.

I'm running on all fours, my back legs shifted to be more animal-like as I attempt to keep pace without slipping. After a few minutes of darting from big pipe to big pipe, I see the clearing where All Mights standing, and bolt towards it.

I don't decrease in speed at all, resulting in my touching all limbs to the ground and sliding while turning as if someone had slid me down a hallway on an oversized dinner plate. When I finally stop spinning, I look over to see All Might, where he's just standing there watching me. This guy probably just watched me skid and slide across this little platform.

"Hi," I speak up.

Shaking himself out of his confusion, he lets out a "CONGRATULATIONS. YOU'RE THE FIRST ONE HERE!" and god I've almost forgotten how loud his voice is. "Please, a little quieter," I say, raising my hands up and gripping my ears, my claws making little holes in my ears.

"Sorry, Congratulations You're The First One Here." He says, repeating his sentence at a smaller volume. I nod and scoot so that I'm sitting a bit further from the edge. Moving around a bit, I find a comfortable way of sitting without unshifting my legs, and we wait.

____

I'm standing in the boy's bathroom with the others. I don't necessarily have anything anywhere on my body to signify gender, but I'm just in here cause it's less noisy.

At least, it was less noisy than expected for the first few minutes.

The others are conversing as they change, nothing too loud. Pulling my hoodie off and folding it, I place it down when I hear something being said in my direction.

"You wear fishnet undershirts?" Kaminari's voice grabs my attention. Turning, I give a short nod before pulling off my tight tanktop from over the undershirt. Folding that and putting it away as well, I grab my uniform shirt and start putting it on.

"You just wear it all the time? It's not just for your costume?" Someone else asks. "Yeah, I've kinda always had it, y'know. I wear it all the time. You may not see it but it's always there." I respond, before fully pulling on my uniform shirt.

Adjusting my collar before pressing it down and grabbing my tie, I look down at it. I'm silent before slowly wrapping it around my neck. I hesitantly let go of it before picking the ends of it back up. I know how to tie some ties and bowties, but that's for others. I don't know how to tie it on myself, and usually get help from Izuku's mom.

"Mango, over here." Hearing that I look up to see Midoriya standing a bit far away. Walking over to him he walks up and helps me tie it. "You said you were going to ask her to help you learn." He says as he ties it. I shrug "I never got around to it." He sighs before finishing up the tie and I thank him.

Unwrapping my tail from around my stomach, I let it hang behind me as I tuck in the front of my uniform shirt.

Hearing my phone go off playing Breezeblocks from my locker I walk back over and grab it. Answering the phone, I loosen the tie a bit. "Hello, Huntre Demitrous speaking," I answer into the phone.

"Huntre." The voice says on the other end and I startle. That is the voice of my teacher, and from the sound of it, there are other teachers with them as well.

"Um, yes Mr. Aizawa," I answer. If he needed something I'm sure he could've asked me, school isn't out for a while yet, but he's calling me now. Izuku's standing next to me now, mouthing something about speaker. Oh, he wants me to put it on speaker.

"Still there Huntre?" Aizawa's voice calls out from the phone now on speaker. "Yes sir," I respond. "The principal and the school faculty would like to have a meeting with you after school tomorrow."

"Wh- Why?" I stutter out, surprised by the sudden request. "It has to pertain to the stunt you pulled during the USJ attack, and it has to pertain to two more incidents, one more recent and the other before you joined the school." He explains, and I freeze.

He may not have said the incident specifically but from the look me and Izuku share when we make eye contact, we both know what the incidents are. One of the incidents, is the early Sludge Incident, the other, the Stain Incident.

Fuck, I'm fucked.

"O-Okay sir. I'll be in for the meeting tomorrow evening." I respond before watching as the phone hangs up. Letting out a shaky sigh, I throw on my uniform jacket and tuck my phone into the pocket.

Suddenly our attention is pulled away when Mineta waves Izuku over. There's a hole in the wall, and of course, Mineta would be searching enough to find something like that.

I watch as he begins to bring his face to the small peephole, completely ready to grab him by the back of his shirt and throw him into the wall. I don't get the chance though, because we all watch as a familiar wire reaches through and pokes straight into his eye.

Ah, Jirou's already got this handled.

____

The rest of the day goes as usual, though Izuku stays back after school for a bit.

We're standing outside, and All Might's outside as well. They both seem uncertain about me leaving, which is new, to say the least.

"Well." I start, startling the two out of whatever I'm thinking. "I'm gonna go home now. I'll tell your mom that your gonna be a bit late." I say, beginning to walk away.

Hearing whispering, I glance back to see that the two of them are whispering while looking at each other. Typical Father and Son behavior, which in this situation would make me the sister? I dunno, I was never one for paying attention to family dynamics.

"Do you guys need something?" I ask, stopping and standing straight.

They mutter a bit more before Izuku turns towards me. "I trust you." Is all he says.

"Okay?" I respond, a bit confused.

He hesitates. "If it's something Quirk-wise, maybe you should do this yourself and you can relay the information back to me later. Kay?" I say, giving him a smile. He nods and smiles back and I wave bye to them as they wave back.

And with that, I walk home alone.
