Chapter 26.5 - Objective

As Takashi was sent back to his body, Eros and Anteros stayed quiet for a few moments, until finally a third voice appeared.

"So, how is he doing?"

That voice had a gentle, like that of a caring mother talking with her child.

"His life until now don't seemed to have many complications, and he also activate the aspect of his system" said Anteros.

"Doesn't mean he won't do anything wrong. If he continue to be this passive, it's only a matter of time until someone is either taken or abandon him" said Eros in an annoyed tone.

"It's his own choices Eros. Whatever the consequences, we can only intervene if his life might be in danger. He must live with the results of anything else" reproached Anteros.

"Doesn't mean that I can't be frustrated. He should be more active, go after what he wants with more vigor, not wait around like an idiot. I'm a representation of Lust, not Loss. I don't like the idea of someone I have chosen to get cucked!" said Eros in frustration.

"I don't like the idea as well, Eros. I'm a protector of relationships, so anything that might threaten them are things that I despise, but is against the regulations to meddle too much with the mortal lives. It was already a stretch to bring someone to this world when it doesn't a savior or destroyer, so we must be careful" said Anteros in resignation.

The both were obviously discussing how Takashi had lives his life until this moment. Despite their different nature, there were times that they could see eye to eye abut certain aspects and situations in the mortal world, although rarely.

"Now, both of you, that's enough" said the third person.

That voice was still gentle, but this time carried a hint of authority as well, making it clear that person wouldn't take a no for an answer.

Hearing that voice both Eros and Anteros stopped discussing and looked back to it's source.

"If he is safe and alive then is enough. As long as he is able to reach a moment were he will day naturally, like all mortals eventually do, them there's nothing else either of you need to do"

Both Eros and Anteros nodded at her words. Their duty towards Takashi was to protect him from possible threats, not to prevent him from dying.

"As for his choices, we all new that granting a mortal a system is always a gamble. There is never a way to know what will happen after they received it. If they are able to make full use of it, there's no way to tell"

Both of them knew what was said was right, but that doesn't that they were able to accept the situation.

Despite what they said to Takashi before sending him to his new life, they actually had an objective in giving him the system. But the restrictions that were imposed on them make it impossible to a more direct interference.

The could only trying their best in giving him small hints, life their previous fight, and monitor his situation.

"Now that's settled, did you give him that Anteros?" asked the third person.

"Yes. While correcting the 'mistake' I made, I did as you instructed and added a new skill into his system, that if bought, will appear again in the if he meet the right condition" replied Anteros.

"Still, what's the necessity of all this duplicity? If we want that, why not just do it anyway?" asked Eros in exasperation.

"This kind of situation can only occur in certain types of worlds, and none of them are under our wing of protection, or a god that would be willing to help us. Not only that but, despite being reincarnated, he still is considered an outworlder since he recovered his memories, and we are not suppose to create this possibilities for them. The system was a loophole, but we still need to be careful to do not be discovered" said the third person in exasperation.

Eros of course new what about the situation, but it never was one to simply accept situations that involved to remain passive like this one.

It was the representation of the desire that all creatures have to go after what brought pleasure, disregarding any kind of rule, moral or consequence.

"If he's able to achieve what we want them that's great, but even if he doesn't, his actions will still benefit us, although not as much. His ideas, objectives and consequences still are under my dominion, so we still can gain something"

As their discussion came to an end, all three gods looked back at the world that Takashi was currently living.

Eros in frustration.

Anteros in preoccupation.

And the third god in anticipation.

"We can only hop that out little gamble will work this time"
