CHAPTER 26: THE SEARCH PART 3

It has been around 12 minutes since Minaro beat Raskan, Minaro unfreezes his leg and stands up. Raskan slowly opens his eyes and is surprised to see Minaro staring at him.

Raskan: Hey, what the fuck!?

Raskan shakes around and then is kicked in the face by Minaro.

Raskan: Ow! What the fuck is wrong with you.

Minaro: Can't have you ripping the strings.

Raskan: Or what? You'll kill me?

Raskan smugly smiles and laughs with his eyes closed. When they open, 2 rifts are right beside him and he can feel the heat of the ray inside them.

Minaro: I won't kill you, you'll just go through the most pain possible.

Raskan: You're crazy…You just want me to stay in these strings?

Minaro: I also need your help.

Raskan: Huh?

Minaro: I have to find two of my friends, do you have any skills that can help with that?

Raskan: Nope.

Minaro: You sure? It seemed that in our battle you were just gaining skills out of nowhere.

Raskan: Even if I did, I wouldn't tell you. I'm not helping you with anything, you're a certified enemy of mine now.

Minaro: Guess that means I don't need you anymore.

Raskan: Hey… Wait!.. Huh?

The rifts appear beside Minaro, he pulls a drone and batteries out of them.

Raskan stares at him with a confused expression.

Raskan: You're seriously using a drone. You know that you'll just lose sight of it when you're flying it right?

Minaro ignores him.

Minaro finishes putting the batteries in the drone, then he walks towards Raskan.

Raskan: Hey, what are you doing?

Minaro quickly punches Raskan in the face as hard as he can, knocking him out.

Minaro looks back at the drone and then up at the sky which can't even be seen fully because of the large trees.

"He had a point, I'd lose the drone in here, gonna have to think of something else."

Minaro pulls out his phone and calls Doa, Maya answers.

Minaro: So my idea didn't work.

Maya: What was your idea?

Minaro: A drone.

Maya laughs.

Maya: So if that didn't work how are you gonna find us?

Minaro: I'm not sure. Is there anything notable around you?

Maya: Trees… You're never gonna find us.

Minaro: Hold on, just had another idea, go on the phone and check the world map app, find this forest and find a spot we can meet up at…

A few seconds of silence pass.

Maya: Okay, there's a tree that is specifically marked on the map as the Amormi, a little shrine.

Minaro: Okay. I guess I'll start looking for it.

Maya: Doa and I will start heading over there.

Minaro checks his map app and starts running to his left.

…

Rinka runs down the endless void, he looks distraught.

"I don't want to be here anymore! Please!"

Rinka suddenly spots a group of people, he rubs his eyes and realizes he's not hallucinating.

He speedwalks towards them, some of the group turn around and stare at him.

"Hello?"

Rinka: Hi, um.

Rinka then notices someone he recognizes staring at the floor.

Rinka: Imma-ite!?

Imma-Ite looks up and is surprised to see Rinka.

Imma-Ite: Oh shit! What the hell?

Imma-Ite stands up and walks up to Rinka. Rinka places his hands on Imma-ite's shoulder.

Rinka: How did you end up here?

Imma-Ite: You killed me.

Rinka: … What?

Imma-Ite: You woke me up and killed me in my prison cell.

Rinka looks like he's going to tear up.

Rinka: That wasn't me! Someone took over my body!

Imma-ite: What?

Rinka: I randomly woke up here and some dude beat me up and took my body, he's the one who killed you!

Rinka stares at the floor.

Rinka: Do you think the others are dead too? Do you think he's killed any other people?

Imma-Ite: Uh...

Rinka starts crying while staring at the floor.

Rinka: Shit, you're dead forever… And it's my fault! If I had beaten the guy when he had fought me before, he wouldn't have stolen my body! I'm weak! I'm so sorry, Imma-ite!

Imma-Ite: … Hold on, calm down I need you to explain-

Rinka: I've taken everything from you!

Rinka continues crying, Imma-Ite stands there staring at him.

Imma-Ite: Shut the fuck up! And explain what happened to you in full detail.

A few minutes go by...

Rinka and Imma-Ite are sitting on the floor, now away from the group. Rinka just finished informing Imma-Ite of the current situation and what Nunda told him.

Rinka: I need to get back into my body.

Imma-Ite: Okay. I think I understand…That dude Nunda brought you in here using his special void powers and you need to get back into your body.

Rinka: Yeah, so what I think I need to do is, find Nunda and now that he's in my body, I gotta use my void powers to pull him back in here and then beat his ass.

Imma-Ite: Okay, but have you ever considered he might be lying about the info he gave you?

Rinka: It seems like a lot of specific information, I don't think he's lying.

Imma-Ite: … Why would he tell you how to get your body back?

Rinka: I don't know, but it's the only information I have.

Imma-Ite: Well then, we should get searching.

Rinka: Yeah, let's go.

Rinka and Imma-ite stand up and run off into the darkness.

Minaro stares at his phone, the Amormi tree is far away from him. Minaro stumbles onto another massacred village. Some bodies can be seen and blood is all over the floors and houses.

"How many people has Rinka killed? He'll be in a giant amount of trouble, they'll hunt him down and probably sentence him to death! I have to find him."

Minaro suddenly stops as he spots Rinka running in front of him.

"Holy shit, what are the chances?"

Rinka runs past him, Minaro follows after him.

Rinka and Imma-Ite run through the void.

Imma-Ite: So do we really just plan to keep running until something happens?

Rinka: I don't know what else I'm supposed to do!

Imma-Ite: Try something? You have special powers here, don't you?

Rinka: Yeah, but I don't know how to use them.

Imma-Ite: Try thinking of something.

Rinka stops running, he puts his hand on the ground and tries to think of things.

"Show me Nunda's location."

To Rinka's surprise, he immediately senses Exactly where Nunda is in the void. His eyes widen as he can sense the path towards Nunda.

Rinka: I see the dude's location.

Imma-Ite: Really? It was that easy?

Rinka stands up and runs off, Imma-Ite right behind him.

After some more running, Minaro ends up in a part of the forest with tons of bushes. He has also lost sight of Rinka.

Minaro steps out from the bushes to find himself on a huge open cliffside, the sunset right in front of him. He then notices something coming out of the bushes from the opposite side.

Minaro looks serious, Rinka looks around and then smiles when he spots Minaro.

Rinka: Oh, hey. I didn't expect to meet you here

Minaro: What's going on with you, Rinka?

Rinka: Nothing.

Minaro: This isn't like you, dumbass. I know damn well something is going on.

Rinka: If you don't believe me, that's on you.

Minaro: … You're not Rinka.

Minaro sighs.

"... I'm already somewhat tired, thanks to that Guardian. I have no clue if I'm ready to fight again."

Minaro rifts quickly appear beside him, 4 rays, 4 flares, and several rocks shoot out of them at the same time, Rinka runs towards all of it.

From Minaro's perspective, everything is about to hit Rinka but suddenly a black shockwave appears and all the rocks are launched away. The rays and flares pass through Rinka, but Minaro notices Rinka is unharmed due to some black armor on him.

This is Nunda's void armor, armor created using the void which protects him from attacks. It looks like the standard knight's armor just with two pointy horns on its elmet.

Rinka: I thought you would hold back against me! You're a piece of shit.

"This isn't Rinka."

The armor fades.

Rinka appears right in front of Minaro catching him off guard, Rinka quickly tries to slice Minaro's eye, Minaro moves his head and part of his face is cut instead.

Rinka tries to stab Minaro's stomach with his other hand. Minaro grabs his wrist and throws him aside then tries to punch him. Rinka quickly slams the ground with his hand before Minaro's punch can connect and a black shockwave is summoned.

Minaro is pushed back, Rinka lunges towards him, Minaro summons a wave of ice, Rinka slams the ground, ice flies everywhere, Rinka moves and repeatedly swings his knives at Minaro, cutting him several times. Minaro dodges a slash and then tries to punch Rinka, Rinka jumps back.

Rinka and Minaro run towards each other, Rinka swings his knives repeatedly, Minaro dodges, his rifts shootout rays from each direction, void armor appears on Rinka again as the rays hit him, then disappears as the rays pass by.

Rinka dashes to Minaro getting ready to slice him, Minaro barely dodges and his chest is cut instead of his neck. Minaro grabs Rinka's wrist again and tries to punch him, Rinka quickly slams his palm into Minaro's chin. Minaro stumbles back as Rinka slams the ground and a black shockwave hits Minaro.

Minaro is pushed back, he lets go of Rinka's arm. Rinka swings a knife at him, Minaro dodges and tries to punch him, Rinka moves out of the way and appears beside him. Minaro quickly turns in his direction and jumps back.

Minaro pulls 2 dying stars from his rifts for both of his hands, he holds the stars tightly as he throws punches at Rinka, Rinka dodges multiple times but then Minaro crushes the stars in his hand. They blow up and hit Rinka forcing him to close his eyes. Minaro punches Rinka in the stomach and he is pushed back.

Rinka quickly runs towards Minaro, Rinka swings his knife, Minaro tries to punch him, They both dodge each other's attack but then Rinka quickly moves his arm and tries to stab Minaro's neck, Minaro quickly moves and gets his chest stabbed instead. Minaro makes a discomforted face and kicks Rinka on the side of his stomach.

Rinka laughs as he pulls the knife out, he then swings both of his knives, Minaro manages to grab his arms and hold him still, Rinka quickly kicks Minaro in the chin. Minaro lets go, Rinka tries to stab Minaro's neck and chest, 2 rifts appear right beside Minaro, he pulls 2 dying stars from them. Minaro crushes the stars right in front of Rinka but Rinka ducks under his arm and stabs his legs.

Rinka pulls his knives out and he tries to stab Minaro again. But as he looks up, several rays head towards him, his void armor reappears and he jumps back.

Rinka is hit by the rays and as he tries to dash to Minaro, he feels several things grab him.

4 Minaro clones grab Rinka making sure he cannot move, Rinka can't see due to being inside of a passing ray. Rinka tries to escape the grasp of the clones but suddenly the real Minaro appears and punches him in the stomach.

Rinka is slammed into a wall, the rays disappear as Minaro appears beside Rinka and decks him towards the floor.

Rinka catches himself.

Rinka: God, you're unforgiving. This is your friend's body and you're still hitting it as hard as you can.

Minaro looks intrigued and angry.

Minaro: What?.. So you really aren't Rinka, I was right.

Rinka: I thought it was obvious but I guess you don't know your friend well enough.

Minaro: Shut up bitch. What did you do to Rinka? What happened to him!?

Rinka: I'm not telling you.

Minaro looks pissed.

Rinka: … You bore me, so I'm gonna actually try now.

Rinka smiles creepily.

Rinka: I'm gonna kill you.

Rinka drops his knives, rolls up his sleeve, and raises his fist. The void wraps around his shoulders and covers his fists. It waves around like fire.

Rinka: … I've always been better at fighting with my fists.

Minaro runs towards Rinka, but suddenly Rinka appears right in front of Minaro. He grabs Minaro by the hair and pulls him down towards his knee.

Rinka's knee slams into Minaro's face Instantly breaking his nose, blood blasts out of Minaro's noise, he stumbles back. Rinka quickly punches him near the middle of his stomach, breaking some of his ribs. Minaro looks as if he's about to cry, there is an immense feeling of pain that can be seen on his face, Minaro is launched back.

"What the fuck!? Did he get faster, and stronger?"

Minaro quickly stops himself from hitting the floor. He quickly stands up and tries to punch Rinka who dashes towards him. Rinka dodges it and punches Minaro in the face, slamming him to the floor.

Minaro tries to stand up, he's trembling from the punch and some blood falls from his mouth. Minaro looks in Rinka's direction, Rinka is right in front of him.

Rinka slams his fists into Minaro's back and a Shockwave engulfs the area.

Rinka: Die!

Suddenly Minaro stands up and tries to uppercut Rinka. He quickly dodges and punches Minaro in the stomach, Minaro hits the floor.

Rinka: … I'm surprised you were able to get up after that.

Rinka looks down at Minaro, Minaro quickly touches the floor, a giant wave of ice appears and heads towards Rinka.

Rinka slams the ground and the ice is destroyed, it flies everywhere. Rinka can't see due to all the ice.

Minaro appears right in front of Rinka, he is holding a dying star. As Rinka tries to punch him, Minaro crushes the star and it blows up. Rinka punches Minaro as the star explosion hits his face and Minaro disappears, it was a clone.

Rinka looks to his left and spots another clone about to punch him. Rinka dodges and punches the clone.

3 more clones appear around Rinka, he slams the ground and a shockwave appears.

As the shockwave passes Rinka is punched in the face, then in the stomach, and finally kicked in the back. Rinka looks around, the Minaro clones made ice walls to protect themselves from his shockwave.

Rinka: Annoying.

All the clones try to hit him, Rinka ducks, dodging every attack then he slams the ground.

As the shockwave passes even more clones appear that shoot rays at Rinka. He's quickly covered in void armor as the rays engulf him.

He slams the ground repeatedly in hopes to stop anything from approaching him as he is in the rays. Suddenly he's kicked in the face by a Minaro clone and then punched. The rays disappear, Rinka opens his eyes.

The real Minaro is behind some ice, he's sweating and laying on the floor.

"Making my rays shoot for more than 2 seconds takes a lot of energy, I can't keep doing that."

"I'm also getting tired much quicker thanks to this guy's strong ass punches. They might even be stronger than my punches at full power."

Rinka punches all the clones and runs towards the ice that Minaro is supposed to be behind.

Rinka checks behind the ice and Minaro isn't there, Minaro dashes from a bush and tries to punch Rinka.

Rinka quickly blocks his fist.

Rinka: …Oh! For a second I thought you ran away!

Ice comes out from the floor forcing Rinka to move back.

Rinka: … Are you sure you can still fight? I don't wanna kill you just yet.

Minaro's angst.

"I have to get used to this guy's speed and strength if I want any chance of beating him."

Rinka dashes towards Minaro and starts throwing several punches, Minaro dodges some but then is hit in the stomach. Minaro coughs up blood but manages to quickly grab onto Rinka's hand so he isn't launched back, this catches Rinka off guard.

Minaro punches Rinka in the face, Rinka is hit and then he quickly turns his back towards Minaro. Rinka gets into a pushup position and then tries to kick Minaro in the stomach with both of his legs.

Minaro blocks the kick, Rinka quickly spins around and kicks Minaro at the side of his stomach then punches him in the face. Blood flies out of Minaro's mouth as he stumbles back and Rinka grabs his hair.

Rinka: You should cut your hair, you look like a woman, and it makes you easier to grab.

Rinka tries to slam his fist into Minaro's back. Suddenly a Minaro clone appears right in front of him. Rinka is uppercutted and Minaro quickly gets up and jumps away.

"... What do I do? I can't run away, I have to fight for Rinka."

Minaro raises his fist and stares at Rinka, he looks extremely concentrated.

"Get used to his attacks, his speed."

Rinka tries to punch Minaro, Minaro blocks it and feels his bones rattle.

"Holy shit, if I keep blocking he'll break my arm."

Minaro tries to kick Rinka. Rinka grabs his foot, Minaro tries to punch Rinka with his other hand. Rinka catches his fist and lets go of his leg.

As Minaro tries to punch him again, Rinka lets go of his fist. Rinka then lifts his own arm up and pushes Minaro's arm up, basically deflecting the punch.

Rinka tries to punch Minaro, his punch is stopped by Minaro kneeing his hand away. Rinka jumps back, he looks bored.

"... I'm starting to get used to his strength."

Rinka: … Well this is no fun.

Rinka runs towards Minaro, Minaro and Rinka start throwing punches at each other. Minaro blocks most of them, some hit him because Minaro's arm starts to hurt from being hit repeatedly. Minaro starts to throw punches back at Rinka, he laughs and starts blocking and throwing even faster punches.

"My whole body hurts, fuck, fuck!"

Minaro yells, he's in immense pain, he starts to throw faster punches. Rinka smiles at him smugly.

Rinka: Is something wrong?

Rinka and Minaro are staring into each other's eyes, they are so focused, that Rinka doesn't notice a Minaro clone about to punch him until it's too late.

The clone punches Rinka in the stomach and pushes him back. Rinka glances angrily at the clone, he then glances back at Minaro who kicks him in the face. Rinka quickly tries to slam the ground, the clone grabs his hands, and Minaro punches Rinka in the face as hard as he can, launching him back.

Rinka hits the floor and quickly stands up.

Rinka: Okay! You got a good hit on me.

Rinka runs towards Minaro, Minaro summons a giant wave of ice that heads to Rinka, Rinka slams the ground and the ice is destroyed. Several clones appear all with rifts beside them after the wave.

The rifts start to shoot out rays in each direction around Rinka and Minaro. Rinka's void armor appears and Minaro and his clones throw punches at Rinka while he dodges and strikes back. Some of Minaro's punches hit him.

Minaro suddenly tries to kick Rinka, his leg is grabbed and he's spun and hits the clones approaching. Rinka throws Minaro and dashes towards him, he tries to punch him, Minaro dodges and tries to punch Rinka.

Rinka grabs his arm, swings him, and slams him into a wall.

Rinka: You look tired.

Minaro tries to punch him, Rinka ducks and slams the ground. Minaro is hit, Rinka appears right in front of him and punches him in the face.

Minaro falls, Rinka grabs his hair.

Rinka's smile widens, he pulls Minaro up and punches him in the chest, Minaro coughs up a lot of blood as he's launched.

Minaro hits the ground and as he tries to stand up, he's punched in the face. Rinka is about to slam his fist into Minaro when a big wave of ice is summoned, pushing Rinka back.

Minaro tries to stand up, he's shaking and exhausted.

"I can barely stand, what do I do? He doesn't look tired at all."

Rinka walks up to Minaro after destroying the ice.

Rinka: Well, guess it's over for you, huh?

Minaro collapses onto the floor.

…

In the void, Rinka and Imma-Ite finally spot someone standing still in the distance.

Rinka's eyes broaden.

Rinka: That's him, that's the guy!

Imma-Ite: Why's he just standing there?

Rinka and Imma-Ite slowly approach Nunda, his eyes are closed, and his arms are crossed.

…

Back with Minaro, Rinka looks down at him, Rinka suddenly senses something within him and he closes his eyes.

…

Back in the void.

Imma-Ite: This guy looks like a watermelon.

Rinka looks at him.

Rinka: What?

Imma-Ite: Like a cartoon watermelon, Pink and green.

Rinka laughs.

Rinka: Yeah, I kind of see it.

Suddenly Nunda's eyes shoot open, which startles both of them.

Nunda smiles.

Nunda: Oh hey, Rinka. I didn't expect you to actually find me, and so fast too...You also brought company.

Rinka: Give me my body back!

Rinka tries to punch Nunda, Nunda moves back.

Nunda: Hey! Calm down, we just reunited!

Imma-Ite: Shut up and give him back his body, asshole!

Nunda: … I thought you would have known this by our latest fight but I guess not, I'll remind you, you can't beat me!

Nunda punches Rinka in the face and then in the stomach. Imma-Ite tries to punch Nunda, Nunda ducks under his punch and uppercuts him.

Rinka and Imma-Ite throw several punches and kicks at Nunda, but he blocks and dodges everything, Nunda however is able to land multiple hits on them.

Nunda: What did I tell you!

Nunda suddenly senses something again.

…

Nunda and any void user can be in both the void and on the earth in a body simultaneously. Just that it is harder for them to focus on one thing when they are both in the void as a soul and possessing the body of someone on earth.

…

As Nunda enters Rinka's body on earth, Minaro punches him in the stomach.

Rinka hits the floor, he stands up.

Rinka: … I thought you couldn't move.

"I have to deal with those two idiots in the void and this long-haired bitch up here, this situation is very annoying."

In the void, Nunda continues to dodge, hit and block Imma-Ite and Rinka.

Back with Minaro...

"Why did he let me punch him, why were his eyes closed? What the hell?"

Minaro is still shaking from exhaustion, Rinka runs towards him.

"Shit, I still can't move that much."

Minaro and Rinka throw punches at each other, Rinka is now only using one hand to punch and block, that is because in the void he is also using one hand.

In the void, Rinka starts throwing punches faster, Imma-Ite starts using different fighting styles.

Nunda: What the hell are you guys doing?

Suddenly one of Imma-ite's moves catches Nunda off guard and Rinka manages to punch him.

Back with Minaro, Rinka throws a punch, Minaro dodges and kicks the side of his stomach.

In the void, Imma-ite starts to punch faster, Nunda blocks and dodges but then Rinka tries to punch him forcing him to dodge even more.

Nunda dodges too prematurely and is kicked in the stomach by Imma-ite.

Back with Minaro, Minaro is on the verge of collapsing again but he continues fighting. Rinka punches him in the face.

In the void, Nunda starts to move and attack quicker, Rinka and Imma-Ite block his attacks as well as they can. Nunda manages to punch Rinka in the face and then punch Imma-Ite in the stomach.

Back with Minaro, Rinka grabs Minaro's arm and gets ready to punch him, when Minaro suddenly collapses.

Rinka: Finally!

Rinka lets go of Minaro's arm, Minaro hits the floor face first. Rinka rolls him over and squats down next to him. Minaro stares at the sky, he's very tired.

Rinka grins and then laughs. The void disappears off his shoulder and fists.

Rinka: What should I do to you before I kill you?

Rinka quickly slams his fist into Minaro's stomach, no shockwave appears this time. blood comes out of Minaro's mouth.

Rinka then lifts Minaro's hand, grabs his index finger, and pulls it back. Minaro's finger is broken, his eyes open wide.

In the void, Rinka is uppercutted by Nunda.

"Fuck! We can't beat him! What do we do?"

Nunda starts using his other hand, he catches Imma-Ite off guard and grabs Imma-Ite's hair, and punches him in the face.

"He started using both of his hands!"

Rinka watches as Imma-Ite is repeatedly punched, Imma-Ite soon collapses and tries to stand up but can't, Nunda smiles at Rinka.

Nunda: … You cannot win. Get that through your smooth brains.

Nunda dashes towards him and starts throwing strong punches, Rinka blocks as well as he can. But he's overwhelmed, Rinka then grabs Nunda's arm and holds it tightly.

Imma-Ite quickly stands up with his last bit of energy and wraps his arms around Nunda's stomach.

Suddenly Rinka hears his own voice, one thing repeats in his head, his eyes widen.

"Try to get back into your body without defeating him."

Nunda tries his best to escape and he elbows Imma-Ite in the face multiple times. Rinka tries to punch Nunda, Nunda blocks.

Rinka lets go of his arm and runs past them.

Rinka: Imma-Ite! Hold on to him for as long as you can!

Imma-ite: Okay! I'll try my best!

Rinka looks around, he starts to imagine himself repossessing his body. Suddenly he starts to levitate.

Rinka is surprised, he floats higher and higher into the darkness of the void.

Nunda keeps trying to escape from Imma-Ite, but Imma-ite now wraps his legs around him And brings him down to the floor.

As Rinka floats higher and higher, the void seems to slowly disappear as he can now see the blue sky.

Rinka blinks and he's now in his body, Rinka quickly looks around.

Rinka then notices Minaro on the ground with his eyes closed, he starts crying. Rinka starts shaking Minaro.

Rinka: Minaro! Minaro!

Minaro slowly opens his eyes.

Minaro: Rinka?

Rinka: Yes! It's me! Are you okay!?

Minaro: Wait? Is it actually you?

Rinka: Yes man, It's me! I don't think I have too much time here, so I need you to listen… How do I tell you this?

Rinka: … Basically when we got arrested, I found myself in a place called the void, it's where the souls of the dead go. In there, some dude beat the shit out of me and possessed my body.

Minaro looks confused.

Minaro: What the fuck?

Rinka: Me and Imma-ite just fought the dude who beat the shit out of me in the void and currently in the void, Imma-ite is holding him down, this is why my time is limited. Imma-ite can't hold him down forever!

Minaro: … I think I understand. But I have a lot of questions.

Rinka stands up, Minaro tries to as well but can't. Rinka extends his hand and pulls Minaro up.

Rinka: You're covered in blood, what happened to you?

Minaro: I was fighting you actually… I was about to die and then you got here.

Rinka looks sad and worried.

Rinka: Oh god, You were about to die? I almost lost you?

Minaro: Nah, I'm Just kidding, I'm just tired. I have some injuries too but they can probably be healed.

Rinka looks nervous.

Rinka: … Hey? What happened while I wasn't in my body?

Minaro: … You really want to know?

Rinka: Is it that bad?

Minaro: Yeah, I'd say it's pretty bad.

Rinka: … Just tell me.

Minaro: A lot of random people have died. You've been on a killing spree.

Rinka looks horrified.

Rinka: a lot? How many is a lot?

Minaro: Can't really say, but from news reports, I'd say like around 180. That number may have increased.

Rinka: 182!?

Rinka starts to cry.

Rinka: Fuck! I'm a mass murderer! I can't show my face anywhere! I can't live a normal life anymore!
