CHAPTER 46: PATHETIC CITY

Back when the guardians arrived in the city and all of them began chasing a skiller, one Skiller went unnoticed and was hiding and never chased.

Kadosha is in an alleyway filled with trash, hugging the orb piece and admiring it.

"It's really pretty."

He looks around.

"... I'm surprised this spot is actually working, no one has found me! What a bunch of fools."

In the same alleyway, behind a big box, is Zizin hiding nervously. He peeks out a little, focusing on the orb piece.

"Oh goddammit, that's the piece everyone is after, and that's gotta be a skiller! Why did he have to be here!?"

Kadosha moves his foot around, he's bored. A portal opens up near him and he joyfully observes it.

"Oh! That's for me!"

Zizin worries.

"He's gonna leave!" What the hell do I do!? This could be the only chance we have to get that piece and it's up to me! I need to stop him, but how? I can't do anything! But I need to! He doesn't look too strong but he must be if they trusted him with that piece! MAN! What do I do? I can't fight him!.. Okay, I'll just distract him and wait for someone else to get here! But I don't want to! What if he just fucking kills me!?"

Zizin suddenly slips on a pebble, Kadosha turns and stares at him, confused.

Kadosha: Are you a guardian?

Zizin sweats, he is very nervous.

Zizin: No, what is that, I don't know them.

Kadosha: You're a freakin guardian… I'm gonna kill ya.

Kadosha walks towards him.

Zizin: I'm not a guardian! I swear on my mother! On my future children!

Kadosha: Don't lie! Lying is bad!

The portal behind Kadosha disappears, Zizin stands and backs away.

"Fuck. What do I do!?"

Yutsu is back in the red room, speaking to a kamu.

"Remove that portal, a guardian has appeared before Kadosha and I want to see this interaction."

Yutsu: Which guardian?

"Guardian Zizin."

Yutsu: Okay, Kadosha will be fine.

Kadosha stops moving.

Kadosha: Maybe you're not a guardian, a guardian would be fighting me right now.

Zizin: I told you I'm not one!

Kadosha: I'm… still gonna kill ya, no witness allowed.

"Are you fucking kidding me!?"

2 flat steel barricades quickly rise from the ground, blocking the exits of the alleyway. Zizin looks around and panics even more.

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!?"

Zizin: Please! Don't kill me!

Kadosha laughs.

Kadosha: You definitely aren't a guardian! They wouldn't beg for their life!

He presents his palm and a large durian forms onto it then he places the orb piece on the ground and pushes it with his foot to behind some trash.

"This asshole isn't gonna let me leave, I don't know how to fight! Can I beat him? No! I can't! I don't know to fucking fight! I'm gonna die! If I don't fight, I'll die!"

Kadosha dashes and slams the durian into Zizin's face instantly knocking him down then continues to hit him more.

Blood and his body jump after every hit until in the blink of an eye the durian is hit by something, it slams into Kadosha's face causing him to stumble back.

Kadosha: Ow! What the heck?

The fruit splats on the ground, Zizin's tentacles are now out and they're protecting his face.

Kadosha: That's a little gross.

Zizin stands, the tentacles detach from his face.

"They protected me."

Kadosha spawns another durian.

"Fight, it is a natural human instinct. I can do it! It's my only chance of surviving!"

Kadosha swings the fruit, a tentacle slaps it back and Zizin charges up a punch which he successfully lands on Kadosha.

"I hit him!"

Kadosha kicks Zizin in the leg then spawns a large pickle which swiftly slams into his chin.

Kadosha: Gotcha!

Kadosha slams another durian into his knee, knocking Zizin down on his stomach.

"How do I avoid attacks!? Fuck! Everything hurts!"

Kadosha goes over to where Zizin's legs are while tossing his durian up and down.

Kadosha: Those tentacles are small, they can't stop my attacks from over here. How impractical!

Kadosha lifts his durian, readying for a big slam. Zizin promptly but clumsily rises and runs away, Kadosha stares.

Zizin stops at the barricade.

"I need to think. When do I attack, when do I avoid his?"

Kadosha dashes.

"There's no way to know! I can't think!"

Zizin bolts away from the wall, avoiding Kadosha who continues chasing him.

"My leg! It huuuuuuuuurts!.. Aren't I supposed to get some sort of adrenaline rush by now!?"

A tentacle quickly slaps Zizin's cheek, his eyes turn big. He quickly turns, lowers his head and posture, and runs towards Kadosha head first. The tentacles punch the durian back into his face.

"... I have to believe in my skills!"

The fruit hits the floor, Kadosha's face is all punctured like Zizin's, his anger and blood are seeping through.

Kadosha: You're starting to get on my bad side!

Zizin lifts his head and Kadosha summons a giant pumpkin that he holds over his head with both of his arms.

Kadosha: When I'm done with you, I'm gonna use you as fertilizer!

Kadosha heaves the pumpkin, Zizin's tentacles hide behind his head, and Zizin is worried now.

Zizin: Hey! Tentacles!

"How- how do I avoid this? Holy shit, I'm dead. I'm so dead!"

The pumpkin slams into Zizin and to Kadosha's surprise, it bounces back towards him at an insane speed while Zizin crashes to the ground.

The pumpkin slams into Kadosha, it breaks on impact and pushes him all the way to a barricade.

Kadosha: Hah, that was scary.

Zizin lays on the ground, his tentacles are mushed on the floor.

"My chest, something broke. A lot of things broke… I made myself bouncy, hoping I wouldn't feel any damage, but it doesn't work like that. I'm a fucking idiot. If a trampoline could feel pain, it would!.. At least I hit the guy, I think."

Kadosha stands over Zizin and grins.

Kadosha: You ready? I'm gonna crush you into a pulp, and put you under a tree, hopefully, it uses you as nutrients. At least your death won't be completely useless, right? Useless Guardian.

He removes his foot, Zizin is dazed.

Kadosha: You're a guardian… Guardian Zizin… I knew it from the start.

Kadosha puts his hands into his pockets.

Kadosha: You know, I have respect for guardians even if they did fail me. They're strong and are meant to be symbols of determination to us. You are a stain to that symbol.

Kadosha scratches his neck.

Kadosha: No one's ever seen you fight or help, so what is your purpose as a guardian? There are many theories about you, Zizin lied about his skills, he works undercover, he works in different countries, but the most popular theory and known fact is that you are completely useless.

Zizin looks away from the sky and to Kadosha.

Kadosha: You're quite brave, allowing the government to put your skills on the guardian info site.

Kadosha observes his nails.

Kadosha: You'd think your fighting would be peerless or at least good to accommodate for the absent and pathetic use of your skills, but nope! You are as useless as everyone believes you are.

Kadosha steps on Zizin's chest and summons a durian.

Kadosha: Today, I'm gonna finally get rid of you and hopefully the guardians will replace you with someone better, someone who will really represent them well!

Zizin: F-Fuck you, man! It's not my fault I'm like this!

Kadosha stares curiously, and Zizin starts crying.

Zizin: If I was born with good skills, I would do stuff! I would be a good guardian!

Kadosha: Skills aren't an excuse, you can still learn to fight. Hasn't anyone told you this? Or you can't even do that?

Zizin: I can't fight. I tried to learn, and I couldn't. I just couldn't.

Kadosha sighs and shakes his head.

Kadosha: Truly a waste of a human. The tree I'm going to use you for will contribute more to this world than you ever did.

He swings the durian, and a barricade at the end of the alleyway is suddenly dismantled. It flies and crashes into Kadosha, narrowly missing Zizin.

Zeph's monster squeezes through the alleyway, and Zeph and Mausho are on its back. Zizin's face lights up.

Zizin: I'm so glad you guys are here!

Zeph grabs him and holds him close.

Mausho: What's up, man?

The barricade is on Kadosha, he is attempting to get out from under it.

"I'm dipping, I can't handle Guardian Zeph… Ah, I didn't get to kill Zizin. Darnit."

Kadosha stands and wipes his pants, Zeph's monster zooms by, bites down on him, and rips him to shreds.

Zeph: So what happened to you?

Zizin: I- I got into my first deadly fight.

They exit the alleyway and turn.

Mausho: How did it go?

Zizin: Almost died, you guys saved my life.

Mausho: Oh.

Zeph: ... At least you lived long enough to have us find you.

Mausho looks behind him.

Mausho: Tell me more about this fight when we get back home!

Yutsu jogs into the alleyway, he looks at all the flesh and then notices the orb piece behind the trash.

"Wow, it wasn't found here?"

Yutsu picks the piece up and continues moving.
