Introduction

Unknown P.O.V

I feel pathetic sitting here in between bushes like a commoner and watching them from afar...

This hill was situated perfectly above the palace overlooking them.

All of this was supposed to be mine!

If only they could tell us who the oldest twin was, I wouldn't have to go this far.

We almost found out. We headed south towards the Forest of Mystique, there we would take about a half day trek up steep hill tops leading to the very top of the Flame Mountain - said to grant any wish asked.

I still remembered that day, it was the most thrilling thing that idiot and I ever did, and we did a lot together. The day we reached the mountain was our birthday, another thing we shared amongst everything else already. The entire family knew what he was going to wish for "The kingdom's everlasting peace and prosperity."

Pathetic, really.

Ha...

I wanted to know who the eldest was between us. We were of age, and this was the first time in our families generation that there are twins. They decided they'll make their decision once we were eighteen. I couldn't wait that long.

I felt I should get that opportunity. He was to weak, too soft hearted and that are not qualities a powerful leader should have.

You need to keep the people in an iron grip, there shouldn't be any space for gentleness only strength, unity couldn't waver.

The riches, the land, the power, the everything is supposed to go the one most fit to have them.

Me.

I was strong, so I joined the army so did he.

I could hunt, so could he.

I  fell  in love, but she didn't love me back instead she chose him over me.

I treated those how they were supposed to be, the royals with royalty and the peasants like what they were, he helped everyone and thought they were supposed to be treated equally.

It's been five years since I've seen them all. I heard they got married and he became king.

"Time is running out for all of 'em master. Look at them, filthy dogs, all living together in a damned fairytale -" say's Roderick.

A rogue Englishman I picked along the journey, after being banished and all.

He became my right - hand man.

Robbing everyone we came across until we had enough to start a tavern business "Wench and Rogue's Den." on the nothern side of the kingdom, the Slaydin harbour.

"Yes Rod, almost time. They'll all be wiped out and we'll build up this moronic kingdom from the start! You and I will be more richer than the den has ever made us. We'll have wenches, rum, gin and all at our fingertips!" I said loudly to him.

I walked and Rod came after a few seconds, back over to our horses just below the hill.

I had a lot of work ahead of me I thought to myself.

Planning, planning...

Roderick and I mounted our horses and rode off into the distance.

"I'll be back soon, and that time with an army." I say into the nothingness that surrounded Roderick and I.

As I turned to look back at the place that was once my home...

This city was one of unimaginable beauty...

Strong, thick and well structured ivory colored brick walls line the empire's dusty red-brown  perimeter.

The many gardens all around the palace were situated near the walls and have a wide variety of indigenous and rare plant vines cascading, swirling and twisting down and out over the high fortress.

Annual flooding from the Sa-hi river provides the kingdom with fertile grounds for growing many crops and essential food supplies for the growing kingdom.

Intricate detail and brick work can be seen on the castles exterior expressing it's owner's immense wealth, and it's artists, sculptures and architects skill and delicate precision.

This kingdom was not a huge one, but it's expanse is big enough to house more then a thousand of it's local people and trade merchants.

With being so isolated from the world, Ascalon had some of the greatest craftsmen, engineers, architects, farmers, philosophers, inventors and so much more.

This city was advancing and beating their neighbors in all aspects and it's people were proud and honoured to be staying here with their trusted and respected monarchy.

In Ascalon the monarchy and it's people are strong together, and respect one another weather they be poor or the royals themselves.

The guards and people both do their part in keeping public balance and peace throughout.

Here there is very little crime and everyone has a stable and suitable living.

A fairytale living of sorts.

Long ago just off the banks of the great Sa-hi River, in the ocean-like sand desert, to the far East of the world, between hot, gold sand dunes and breezy winds that make it cooler than most places in this misunderstood baron-like landscape lies Ascalon.

The sky is bright, pretty, the visible stars are still scattered wildly yet in perfect order; pinks, purples and an evident dark blue  are dancing and intwining with each other across the vast expance of an horizon. Being slightly closer to the Arctic desert, once in a Blue moon, the city gets to witness the extremely undescribable beauty of the northern lights. A beautiful colour anomaly displayed on the night...

In other words dusk has approached the dreamlike desert city and it's inhabitants.

In the early hours of the morning, the sun rises in the east, shining brightly and in a time of autumn a fresh crisp breeze blows through. Cooling the hot dunes.

Eagles and other birds circle, survey and scan their territory. Mother birds fetching, delivering and feeding their baby chicks worms. In the nearby farms chickens' loud five 'o' clock chirping awakens the sleeping city. Merchants, people, travellers  and the palace all start their day.

Over in the palace, the rising Suns light pours in from all angles in the castle. Bustling maids and guards are either completing their shifts or finishing off other things.

Many years ago this lively and vibrant city was claimed and established by the mighty and highly respected Sultan Elazar and his best friend Farouk, the captain of the guard. Both great and memorable warriors.

After the war times would cool off the army would return home to their families before returning to the battlefield field. Luckily for Ascalon, they were protected by their own strongest and most successful army in the current lands.

Like them, little Prince Elijah and Saadiqah, Farouk's daughter, became the best of friends, like their Fathers.

Despite their young age, the little children met during a combat meeting when they were just three years old. Their parents having currently their future roles in the kingdom.

Elijah the future Sultan ( King).

Saadiqah the future Advisor.

While their parents are busy debating they play on their own in the play room. "Toy," Baby Saadiqah demanded of the little Prince and he reluctantly replies,"Here."

During this time Ascalon is in it's usual state of peace and prosperity.
