Introduction

Present Time…

Okay, enough of the reminiscence and let's get a move on. That day was one of the worst in my entire 17 years of existence and was trying so hard not to recall that often but if you're still wondering what happen afterwards, it was epic. I made the wisest and most heroic decision in my life, I ran. After ensuring that the other Pokémon were safely gone, I tuck Shaymin on my jacket packet, got on my feet and ran my butt off. Well of course she was on my tail until everything went cliché. Others from my clan found me and she was smart enough to realize she was obviously outnumbered. But ever since that incident, a day hasn't passed that I didn't stopped for a moment and wonder what could've happened to Shielah that made her want to join the evil clan Havoc.

I got home safely that day with Shaymin in tow. The tricky part is no one from our clan knew or seen him except from our clan founder. As if on cue, a knock on the door caught my attention.

"Jess." A familiar voice from behind the door said.

I checked the time again; it's now four in the morning. This is a very early visit. I didn't answer immediately because I know that will annoy him.

"Jessaise, I know you're awake so open the door this instance." He said a pitch louder.

I walk towards the door. As it flew open, a man with black tousled hair, night black eyes and a ragged-in-a-good-kinda-way looks came into view. He was in traveling clothes so I assume he's going to a trip but he looked too spent to be freshly out of bed. So he must've gotten home.

"Imposing you're Clan Founder Power huh, Leyn?" I said too coolly.

"Well, good morning to you as well. Can I come in? I have matters to discuss with you." He answered, his eyes travelled around the room and settled momentarily on Shaymin who was still sleeping.

Well, he's not up for my smart mouth which means this is serious mode. I step aside and let him pass through, closing the door after him. He picks a chair nearby and settles it near the bed, near Shaymin. Just like me, he truly adores this Pokémon. I sat on the bed opposite him.

"So, what brings you here?" I asked. He looks uncertain for a moment but it quickly vanished as he begun to speak.

"When was the last time you accepted a job request?" he asked in return.

"Hmm, it's been a while; let me see, I think about four or more weeks ago. Why?"

"Here, check this one out." Leyn said handing me two sheets of paper stapled together. I held it in front of me and read.

"Omega Regional Live Battle Tournament" I raised an eyebrow. "And what am I supposed to do with this?"

"Isn't it obvious I'm sending you there? It is an Omega region's major event so we have to make sure it proceeds and ends smoothly." He replied.

My mind continued reading. The yearly Omega Regional Tournament is back and is more fun filled and exciting as we set the stage for the toughest, strongest and smartest trainer together with their Pokémon in the beautiful and snowy landscapes of Redhem Town.

"Redhem Town?" I blurted out. "That's like at the farthest north end of this region. Can't somebody else go? I mean, if I go, nobody will look after Shaymin while I'm away..." I mumbled but he cut me midsentence.

"Well that brings me to my second point. See, it's almost already been a month and Shaymin as well has become a prisoner here. I truly believe it will be good for it to breathe some fresh air and have a change of scenery. Don't give me that how-about-it's-safety reason because you and I both know you're more than capable of protecting it."

Wow, right on the mark. I shift my gaze to the sleeping green fluffy ball on my bed and reconsider. It must've been bored here since it mostly stays in my room.

"It will be fun." Leyn urged on. "Treat it as a vacation or if you wanted to, you can even enter the tournament. They've prepared a generous prize for the trainer who will emerge victorious. And lastly, I heard that Toxicity has a plan against the event. We all know what the founder of that clan is capable of, especially you since you are both members of the Government Elite Force."

"Hmmm, if you put it that way I guess… And besides, I get the feeling I won't be able to change your mind on this one. So much for my democracy here in OmegaPh." I replied.

Leyn has already stood up and was heading out the door. He gave Shaymin one more glance and continued walking then stopping by the open door.

"And by the way, in case you haven't read it yet, the event starts the day after tomorrow morning so judging by how far Redhem Town from Memorial City is, you ought to be leaving by sunrise." He said.

"Whatever. So eager on kicking me out eh?" I shouted. I heard him chuckled but he was already out and the door closes behind him.

What could go wrong?

Like a chant, I repeated it on mind as I board the bus to Westport City. It's already been a month and there was no sign of Havoc so I'm quite hoping that there is no harm coming from them until I finish this job request, especially now that I'm dragging their target out on the open. But I'm not totally convinced.

It was a sunny Sunday and as Leyn instructed, I left Memorial City as soon as the sun sprouted from the horizon and it has been four uneventful hours since then and I'll do everything to keep it at that. There are only four people on board; me, a girl in the front most seat and a couple in the middle part of the bus. I chose to sit at the back for the sole purpose that nobody will see Shaymin as I put it out of its hiding place. I knew it will be uncomfy in the pocket so as soon as it was free it began to hop round and round my lap before settling on poking at the partially open windows. The way where mostly forest and grass fields so the view was mostly trees and everything green and it looks so happy gazing outside. After a few more moments the sign of the city came into view. It was a huge arc embossed with the words Bluehill City. Just right after this town is Westport so I'm kinda getting more and more jumpy. The next thing I know we were right at the entrance of the city. Where going for a stopover here. Everyone shuffles out of their seats and I did the same tucking Shaymin back on my packet. I have one hour before the bus leaves to Westport so I decided to roam the town.

Bluehill City is the second largest town in Omega, just next to Memorial City. The most famous landmark here is the Bluehill Museum. It seemed to be a busy day in town cause a lot of people where outside.

"Wanna see some prehistoric Pokémon huh Shaymin?" I asked, brushing its furs.

"Shay…" it answered as it pokes its head out began clapping.

"You say it's not such a bad idea? Let's go there then."

The museum was just two corners away from the entrance so it didn't take time and I was at the front of its door. But before I could even touch the knob, it busted open and a boy on trainer clothes came thrashing forward bumping onto me. We were both knocked backwards. I quickly check if Shaymin got hurt but it seemed to be fine and more worried about me so I just gave it a reassuring smile.

"Hey, what's with the hurry?"I asked as I get myself back on my feet.

"I'm so sorry. I'm just really in haste now I didn't see you coming." The boy said.

The voice was familiar so I did a double take.

"Noel?" I said.

The boy was still shaking dust of his pants but looked up as he finally recognizes me.

"Jess, what are you doing here? You accepted a job request here?" he asked.

Noel is one of our Clan's junior member and they usually don't go on job requests alone so I'm actually surprised to see him here.

"No, well yeah, but not here. How about you? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Oh my. I almost forgot. I gotta run to the Bluehill Gym. They said the leader has come back. I have to challenge him now. Who knows when he might leave again." He answered as he begun to jog.

"Well, the best of luck then." I said.

"Thank you. I might need it. See you around then. Gotta get that Warrior Badge." He said then took off leaving me staring at him. Just after several steps, he took a u turn back to where I stand. "Hmm…May I ask you something Jess?"

"Ask away." I answered.

"Where is Bluehill Gym located?"

I burst out laughing.

"So intent on the battle when you don't even know where the gym is. Let me just accompany you." I suggested.

The gym was a huge single story building painted in white. There were two spears crossed above the door and people actually thought the leader here specializes in fighting type. But he doesn't. I remember the time when I challenge this gym but that would be too long if I tell it today.

"Are you prepared?" I asked Noel.

"Well of course. Me and Dewott is going to get that badge for sure." He answered.

"I don't think being overconfident will help. The leader here has a very odd battle style." I reminded him but he was already opening the door.

"I challenge you to a battle!" Noel shouted.
