Past Life and Training

Bear Island, 283 AC, Alisa Mormont POV.

Alisa just formed a very quick friendship with the bear family, but then, she decided to actually take care of them. She made a gesture to the bears to follow her, and behold, they did. She know that in her past life, her village were known to be inclined with danger beasts, another reason for their supreme and inhumane strength.

The people in Bear Island were shocked, mostly scared, from the bear of their Lady Alisa. And what is much more shocking was, she was riding the mother bear while in her arms are bear cubs. Lady Alisa gesture to the bear with a pointing direction to the Keep of House Mormont.

The bear followed. Alisa then muttered, "Where should I put you and your cubs, Joy?"

The bear bellowed a small roar, as saying 'I don't know'.

"Hm, then we can share a room! I don't have that many things in room, but how can you fit through the door? That's a problem. Another choice would be the stables, but you'll scare the mares and destrier we have, and it will be cold for you and the cubs." Alisa rambles, without noticing the bewildered stares of the people. When they were close at the Keep, family guards of Mormonts are definitely scared and confused at the same time. Scared at f*cking beast of a bear and confused why Lady Alisa is talking to them.

Alisa gave her focus to the guards, saying, "Are the stables empty?" Which the guards nodded, though giving caution to the behemoth beside their Lady. Then she looked at the mother bear, "Sorry, but stables for now, alright? I'll find some fish for you, so behave in the mean while." The bear gave a small growl.

Then, Alisa was about to fish some more to the river lake when her Lord cousin, Jorah came out, along with her mother, Maege. The two looked amazed and cautious at the same time. Maege spoke first, "Alisa, what is going on?"

Alisa gave a raised eyebrow, not knowing what is wrong, saying, "What is going on? I'm giving Joy and her cubs shelter, and some fish after I come back." She look really confused with the looks they were giving her now.

"What kind a name is a Joy?- That doesn't matter now, why did you bring a dangerous animal in our home." Jorah said, not giving Alisa a glance, but still cautiously staring at the mother bear. "You cannot bring a dangerous animal in our home, they could hurt someone."

Alisa gave a 'really' look at her cousin, before saying, "Bear is our House's sigil. And Joy will not hurt anyone, she's a gentle mother of three cubs, alright?" The people was somewhat accepted her reason. It is true, after all.

Maege have seen everything, her daughter gave a counter argument that shut her nephew, her daughter turned this dangerous bear as gentle creature to the minds of the people present. But still, who would name this beast as Joy?

Alisa gave small goodbye, saying, "I'll come back after bringing Joy's fish, then I'll come for our Maester's lesson of boring history." Then, she left after.

Maege was somewhat proud of her daughter, only three name days but independent on her guards, not that anyone would harm her, our people are the most gentle people in Westeros. Now, she tamed a bear, which is their family sigil. She is proud of her daughter.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the lesson's with the Maester, Alisa appeared the fighting yard, finding his Lord cousin fighting their Master-at-arms, Erik. Erik is an old man, veteran of Ninepenny War and Robert's Rebellion. Old bones was too much noticeable in his form, but he can give an advice or two, finding flaws. The Rebellion just ended few moons back, now, all Northern Houses lost many from the war, especially the Bear Island. Their home is one of the poorest from the poorest Kingdom of Westeros.

Jorah is evidently, a great swordsman, definitely got his talents from his father, Jeor Mormont. He'll be a great Lord, if he took serious care from the paper works he had given to his Aunt Maege. Clearly, all management work aren't Jorah's thing.

Jorah noticed his cousin approach, saying with slight smile, "You got your Joy bear their fish?"

"Aye, she was very 'joyful' from the fishes. You should give them some, too." Alisa smirked, although looking an intelligent three name days old little girl. She pick a wooden training sword, slight nostalgia from her long rapier. One day, she'll get her rapier back. She walked to Jorah and Erik, saying, "Can I train too?"

Jorah and Erik chuckled, the latter saying, "Aye, she's the She-bear's daughter, alright." He pick another wooden sword for himself, patting the snow bed, "Come here, show me your grip."

Alisa smiled, easily positioning her wooden sword from her previous' experience. Erik looked amazed but he did not show it from his face. He decided to praise her instead, "You have firm grip. The first step your grip, then footwork." Erik gave a slow slash, forwarding his right foot.

Alisa responded with a block, along with her right foot backward. After feeling the numbing vibration of the block, despite being slow, she slowly gave recognition of her past life's experience. She gave a counter, low stabbed due to her small stature. Her opponent responded with dodge and slow slash to her head. Alisa dodged by ducking, she felt her mind buzz with excitement, responding with kick to the knee.

Erik, still underestimating Alisa, did not see the kick coming, resulting with stumbling and lowering himself to half a knee, but Alisa wasn't finished, pointing her wooden sword point on Erik's neck, saying, "Dead?"

Jorah was shocked from the sideline, very shocked. Aunt must be informed by her daughter's feat.

Erik was stunned from the development, not really expecting to be beaten by a child. Seems old age is catching up to his body. He chuckled, "Aye, you're really the She-bear's daughter." He stood up and continued, "This time, we're going on a very fast pace, you hear?"

Alisa nodded, readying herself to another bout.
