Darknorth

Winterfell, 289 AC. Jorah Mormont's POV.

"Aha!" A loud laughed boom at the feast with the Starks, many Lords of Northern House are present. Jorah was quiet, not really enjoying the festivities. Maege, on the other hand, was booming with smiles. She's engaged with drinking contest with Lord Jon "Greatjon" Umber. Still, she's losing, but she's happy.

Lord Stark on the high table, was wearing an amused smile. Despite all know that they were going to war, Lord Stark wasn't worried, as Northern Army will not be on the Frontlines, except on the siege of Pyke. Jorah thought he had low chances in encountering Lord Drumm in battle.

Lord Karstark was boasting about his heir, Harrion Karstark, when Maege slammed the table, shouting, "Your heir will never be better than my eldest daughter."

Lord Karstark slammed the table in response, shouting, "Oh? You're daughter will never strong like my heir. A man my heir is, your daughter is no competition."

"Just a boy. My daughter is a woman grown, nine name days, but killed her first man when five name days. Have your heir killed?" Maege laughed, very drunk.

Lord Karstark did not have any response to that, his children will always be in safety when wilding raids happen in Karhold. He eyed Maege, saying, "Then, your daughter should've been in here. Let the Lords see if she were really blessed by the Old gods, if she does have the power of winter come."

"She may be a child, but she'll be more of a Northerner than your children, but that's what she is, a child. No child should know war so young." Maega gave a small laugh, before downing her cup and sitting down.

Now the commotion was over, Ned Stark sighed, "My Lords, My Lady, His Grace, King Robert Baratheon have ordered the realm to join him, in stopping Balon Greyjoy's folly of a rebellion. I know we had a long summer, but Winter is coming, it always come. We must end this rebellion, and prepare when winter comes. Our barns must be filled with grains, our livestock must bear offspring of their own, and our house must have spare logs for warmth."

He continued, "We do not have time fighting Southern wars, but we have swore an oath to the King, we must fight but we must end it quickly. Are the Lords and Ladies of the North with me?"

The hall boomed with banging of tables, horn cups spilling ale and water, and people cheering. Eddard Stark nodded, very much glad his wife, Catelyn, had gone to bed with his heir, Robb, and daughter, Sansa. Jon, on the other hand, must be hanging outside the training yard, butchering a practice dummy. Eddard sighed.

Bear Island, 289 AC, Alisa Mormont POV.

Now, that she is the Lady Paramount of Bear Island, Alisa can integrate her plan. First would be building her dream castle, hmm, let us call it Darknorth. She felt her hands envelope with her power, rising from within was the cold winter itself.

On the mother mountain, a Great Keep, a half of a mountain in size, rose up. A harsh winter wind envelope the Island, but Alisa quickly contained the hassle wind. She another wild motion with her hand, twenty tower formed around the Great Keep, and between each towers was a thick castle wall rose from the mountain.

But, Alisa wasn't satisfied yet. She gave another swipe of hand, The Great Keep arose once more, a tower, larger in width, rose above the Keep, shadowing all the twenty towers. This castle was much large as a football stadium, along with its high wall in high vantage point, due to the largest mountain.

Then again, Alisa wasn't satisfied. Another wall with small tower turrets rose by the feet of the mountain, she was thinking to plan another town for Bear Island, while the old town by the coast can be turned into another great port town for Bear Island. The Old Keep can be demolish to turn into a army academy, able to defend both the townpeople and the Bay of Ice for raiders.

This feat had the people of Bear Island to quickly integrate with the big changes. They started cutting down the enormous amount of trees, to be turned into logs, then they had begun making the foundation of a new town. Alisa also ordered some man and woman to a new mine, and taking stone, clay and limestone to grind. This will change the run down building of the town to a new and much more comfortable living house for the people. Alisa can't really be doing all the work. This had been the activity for 5 moon's turn.

And now that the war is here, it is another opportunity for trading Seafood. Not by the sea, but by land, specifically the North. The North still had many people starving due to its large land, but almost barren. Summer may be here, and many are hopeful from the harvest, but almost a tenth of the land of the North, including the New and Old Gifts, are fertile for farming. Because Alisa ordered the Sea Creature and the Kraken to migrate the sea life to the Bay of Ice, Bear Island had the largest monopoly in the west coast of the North, meaning, the sole Seafood traders, along with amounts and amounts of enormous harvest each time, throughout the North.

Bear Island was quickly getting rich, and now, they must use the wealth wisely. By building large foundation and much planned for future generations, they can further solidify the prosperity of its people and land.

But fishing business wasn't going to be enough, land crops must be another asset of Alisa, therefore she ordered to till the land around the mountain, where a natural water tower rest, and started a new farmlands. She introduced the seed drill innovations, the crop rotation cycle to further promote fertility of the land, pollinator insect that enhances the benefits, constant manure from the animals and most of all, connecting the natural water tower from the mountain to regulate water throughout the farmlands. The farmers are skeptical, but they obeyed in the end. For a moon's turn, did they realize the five-fold harvest.

This gave a raised recognition of the people to Alisa. And the opportune moment happen, she ordered to create a Standing Army, now that their most soldier have been deployed in the rebellion. Men and women can join, only ages of six and ten name days and above can join. Erik will officiate their training, while Alisa gave another set of strength training. For her Navy Fleet, she'll have to wait for Jorah to convince Shipwrights and Shipbuilders, along with Sailors with great experience.

As for the mines, her gut is still convinced that she should hold off mining the minerals. But her gut will always be one of her greatest asset, they were never wrong.
