Mabel's Journal for Ivy: Entry 1

False Human: Ivy Jenkins:

*Spent her first 38 years before showing any signs of any draconic characteristics.

°The first draconic trait she showed was her ability to adjust to dragons and different situations easily, despite her peculiar situation.

°It was found out later that dragon eggs hatch quickly in her presence.

°The second trait was being able to speak and listen to dragons through her mind, this is what causes her eyes to change color and her pupils to restrict. She learned to change her eyes without having to speak. She cannot speak mentally to newly hatched dragons. Much like how humans can't speak to newborns, but some other dragons can still communicate with them.

° The third trait was becoming possessive and aggressive like a dragon protecting it's hoard.

°The fourth trait was her growing horns. This was a very painful event.

°The fifth was her inhuman abilities in speed, strength, scense of smell, eyesight,, and hearing,, though she didn't immediately notice.

°The sixth trait was the ability to sleep for days on end.

°The seventh trait was her growing scales.

°At some point she became able to control her own body tempurature.

°She is also able to differentiate different dragon species eggs.

Scales:

Ivy's scales are nearly indestructible. Only she seems to be able to remove or mar them. Much like her scales her skin is nearly indestructible, but is able to be cut by her scales.

Her scales are a dark greenish-blue color, which helps with night time camouflage.

Her scales also cover most of her major arteries, so she will not bleed out if an intense battle occurs.

Her scales are thick and hard, but have yet to shed. The current hypothesis is that since she is an adult, and no longer is growing; she will not shed.

Behavior and Dominance

Though not thoroughly studied it appears that all dragons seem to submit to her. Initially it was believed that only the dragons she reared who thought of her as a mother would obey her; but when new adult dragons were introduced they obeyed her as well. Even hatchlings that she had little contact with, or were raised by other dragon ladies, obeyed her. Not only do dragons listen to her directly face to face, but they report to her from far away. Such as if one of the other dragons catches an intruder. Since her horns seem to have no purpose other than aesthetics, they may act as a crown of sorts.

If a dragon (or anything really) does something she doesn't approve of she simply growls, and they submit. Her dominant nature doesn't seem to effect humans for now, at least the ones who aren't terrified of her.

She doesn't seem to wish to do harm to those whom trespass her "territory", but she has the ability to maim or kill those who harm her dragons or loved ones. Though she has not yet done so on purpose.
