Chapter 11: Realisation of the dawn

Roshi observes the screen. $1000 dollars for a beginners mission huh? Hmmm. Roshi scoured the list, on missions with more money involved, it seemed that there was a tag. Thaw, Crackle, Frost.

"I see you have spotted the rank system Roshi. Let me explain. When You immediately enter the fighter league, you are a frost. After completing a certain amount of missions, you can go up the ranks.The ranks are:

Frost

Thaw

Spark

Crackle

Flame

Inferno

Wildfire.

Ranking up can give you different privileges in the TFL, for example, if you are thawed and above, you can enter a tournament sponsored by a big guild in the league."

"A guild you say?"Roshi questioned, eyes glazed over with hesitance.

"Basically a group of phantoms (People of TFL) who come together in an organization with similar goals. I'll give you examples on a later date. If there is one that aligns with your goals it is quite a good idea to join it. It can increase the safety of both you and those around you."

Roshi grabs his notebook and takes notes profusely.

"So, how could I explain the income coming in? Wouldn't I need to inform my family at some point?"

"Ambiguity is a beautiful thing my friend. Before at least reaching spark, I'd advise not to inform the ones that are close to you much. I have already partly informed your parents on the current situation that will be facing you. Some parents before yours did not want you to be involved in a potentially dangerous field of work, but it seems that the trio stays together through thick and thin."

Roshi replied with quiet concentration.

"Your rank can also be increased by your raw power. In particular facilities there are orbs with which you test your raw resonance exposition."

"Looks like a good way to make a quick buck. I'm in." Roshi said while simultaneously making an account.

"Will this be enough to gain her freedom?" Roshi whispered quietly.

Hirokoshi looked at him with a sympathetic face.

Yue looked the screen up and down. Artifact to increase strength. A ring that can kickstart ki in you?

" I thought that there was no way to gain more than one energy type"

" Well, as you know, each planet in the galaxy has a different energy type, with different skills, pluses and minuses. Normally, people are born with only one type. However, there are some objects infused with the power of the orbs, that can give you power from other planets."

"Orbs huh. I assume that they are spheres which hold the power of the planet they are on."

"Correct. Now that you have observed this, and you are partly aware of the dangers, what is your choice."

Yue had already started to make an account.

"So, you have all chosen this path. Interesting. Well. No time to dily dally. It's time to chose the first mission. But, that's after ten hours of training for three months. I hope you're ready."
