'I want to do that again!' Cali whooped.

'Same here.' Violet laughed until she realised who she'd agreed with, then they both went quiet.

Melia waddled over to me. 'Let me see the tablet.'

I pointed at Cali. 'You still got it?'

She pretended to take offence. 'I never lose things.'

Her dad coughed to cover up a laugh of his own, then began scrolling, until he found the map of the Engineering deck. 'I can't even tell where we are.'

Cali tapped on the screen twice. 'We're the blinking dot.'

Melia just handed the device back.

'Let's head... Whoah!' The old Professor was knocked back on his heels, and I felt the need to apologise.

'At least we know it's working.' The snake was three times taller than Cali, and when it slithered by, it left black scorch marks all over the place.

'It's a good thing, Stephen isn't here to see this,' Violet noted. 'He'd be mad as hell.'

'I can just dismiss it if you'd prefer?'
