You Can't Be Serious

They weren't sure what was more surprising, her devilish grin or what she was suggesting.

"You can't be serious!" Hunter exclaimed

"It's crazy!" Crystal yelled

Even as everyone protested Diana stood there unfazed just waiting until she had a chance to speak.

"What if your parents catch you?" Hollie screeched her violet eyes swirling with concern.

"Let them," Diana replied starring out the window, her smile gone.

"How would you even get in?" King Brian added "it's invitation only."

"We don't need an invitation," Diana replied eyes focussed on the horizon.

"What do you mean?" Maddy asked sceptical.

"We don't need an invitation," Diana answered and it only took a minute for Liam and Hollie to cotton on.

"You can't be serious," Liam explained "they're dangerous and not even you can predict what traps have been set in there."

"I never thought I'd say this but I agree with the idiot prince, it's to dangerous even you could get lost." Hollie exclaimed eyes consumed with worry.

"What are you talking about?" Queen Valeria interjected.

"Every palace as you know has secret passages and Diana's planning to use Malum's to sneak in and infiltrate the ball," Hollie explained.

"But what's the problem then?"Crystal asked confused.

"Yeah and why go to the ball and not straight to the dungeon? Do the passages not lead there?" Maddy added confused.

"I'm assuming the problem is that with one wrong turn you're lost and a lot of the tunnels lead to dead ends and others lead far out into Malum's lands some even lead to the other kingdoms. So if you get lost or if there are traps laid-" Alex spoke but before he could finish Liam cut him off.

"There's a high chance you'll go to the wrong place, get injured, lost or worse," Liam exclaimed.

"You're being dramatic, those passages are easy to navigate and answering your question Maddy the passage for the dungeon is locked from the inside of the dungeon you can't access it from the passages and it's the most easy to get lost in."Diana explained.

"How do you even know your way through the passages?" King Brian asked skeptically.

"I don't think it matters," Diana replied her back turned as she looked out the window.

"And why are you only taking Maddie and Crystal?!" Liam exclaimed paying no attention to the previous question.

"It's easier to sneak in, in a small group and besides the girls will be able to blend in and get information more easily," Diana replied. "Now if you'll excuse me I have something to deal with."

"What could be more important than this?" Kylo exclaimed.

"You'll find out," Diana replied pushing open the window, rein blowing in as soon as the latch was undone, Diana let out a sharp whistle and before anyone could say anything she leaped to the window.

"She hasn't changed a bit," Hollie sighed.

"You'll be escorted to a room," King Brian explained turning to Hollie but instead of the reaction they were all expecting Hollie was looking at King Brian bewildered. "What?"

"You're not going to get mad or demand someone to go after her?" She exclaimed.

As King Brian explained the others chuckled amused smiles painting their lips "There's no point she does it all the time everyone's used to it by now. Although I wonder what it is that caused her to run off this time."

Riding through the nearby woods and ignoring the dirt roads, Diana battled against the wind and rein which threatened to knock her off Luna's bare back. Her fingers gripping at Luna's reins as they rode deeper into the forest as they broke the tree line they came across a clearing where a small army of Nobili's knights stopped in their tracks. They all stared at her astounded.

"Are you all mute or does one of you know how to speak?" Diana's blatant tone raised above the roars of the wind, her hair blowing in all directions as the rein decorated her silver hair with raindrops.

"I am the captain of these knights," the one at the front spoke his shoulders broad and his face stern. "Who are you?"

"I don't see why that matters," Diana replied "I'm here to tell you to turn around and leave."

"And if we don't?" the captain challenged

"Then not all of you will be leaving here alive,"

"Are you threatening us?" the army laughed as their captain spoke "What can one girl do against an army?"

"Wold you like to find out?" Diana replied her tone neutral.

Meanwhile a horse was galloping through the trees towards Diana there was no way he'd just let her run off and deal with this alone after all, how would that be fair to her? She isn't just a weapon who should have to fight whenever an enemy came she shouldn't be left alone he refuses to allow it. She deserves more.

When the raven haired stranger arrived he saw an intense battle raged as a girl on horseback slashed through the small army of nights. 'She is truly unbelievable,' he thought to himself as he rode onto the battlefield stopping an attacker from sneaking up on Diana.

"You should be more careful," he scolded as they slashed through their opponents.

"Why? I know you'll be there and if your not I'll just have to deal with it." Diana replied stabbing a solider through the heart.

"Your unbelievable," he sighed but soon they were separated as they fought the army. They both barely missed being slashed by sharp blades as they fought but a bolt of lightning in the distance scared the horses on both sides and as one reared up, it kicked Diana square in the chest. The impact sending her flying off Lunas back and into a tree, a loud thump filling the clearing, as her sword stuck in the ground. Her back scraped against the old oak tree, as she slipped to the ground, head lolled to the side as her back rested against the tree.

As another bolt of lightning struck Luna ran off into the forest, the soldiers horses running back towards Nobilis the soldiers were helpless, even Alex struggled to control Solis as the rein poured down from the sky's open jaws. Once Solis was settled Alex jumped off and ran to Diana who was lying limp on the ground, he gently checked for a pulse and was releaved when he felt it strong beneath his fingers.

"You foolish girl," he sighed holding her close as he rose to his feet thunder rumbled and lightning crackled through the sky sending Solis running in the same direction as Luna. "SOLIS!!!" he called but she didn't return and the storm was only growing worse and looking back now they were further from the palace than he had thought.

Back at the palace everyone nervously a waited their return. "Do you think they're alright?" Liam asked as they watched bolts of lightning hitting the ground.

"Of course they are," Hollie snapped as she came to join them by the window "I don't know about that Alexander but I know Diana a silly storm won't get in her way. I'm surprised your doubting her." Hollie added with a sneer as she glared at Liam.

"I never said I was doubting her," Liam retorted glaring right back at her.

"Ok you two calm down," Crystal interjected cutting them off before they could continue barking at each other.

"But I wonder where they ran off too," Queen Valeria sighed leaning against her husbands side.

"Hopefully they're safe," King Brian replied.
