Death-Saint: The Lost Halloween

Phasing through reality itself lies [REALM], a gateway between dimensions, scientists cannot locate when, or even where these inter dimensional Realms came from, however, they do know one thing…"Load up the tester." A voice rings, echoing through the non-carpeted hallway. "Right away, sir." A black haired man walks down a quartz entrance, his glasses glimmer in the lights. Opening a door, the black haired man picks up a telephone, "P.O.E. members, stations, stat." Scientists scatter around the large machine in the center of the room, men in radiation suits begin entering from the doors on the side. "Project Odium Engagement, Test 4 Phase 1. Date: October 31st, 2022." Is heard over the intercom, those inside of the containment area run to their stations. "Countdown: 10…" "9…" "8…" "7…" "6…" "5…" Gears crank, and a small beam of blue light appears, hitting the large wall in front of it, "4…" "3…" The beam begins to get bigger, and bigger until eventually… "2…" "1…" the black haired man turns towards the wall, staring at it, "FIRE!" He yells over the intercom. The members of P.O.E. in the contaminated area flick the switches at their station. Suddenly, the blue beam of light shoots through the wall, a blue ring gradually appearing around the area. The ring begins to morph and change, as if a portal has been opened. "Doctor Sawthrop, must we keep going?!"someone yells at me, "Yes, keep going!"my response gains sighs from everyone in the room. "Just a while longer," I calmly say over the microphone. A large rumble comes from the area near the portal, "Doctor Sawthrop!" The rumble continues, getting worse, I can almost feel my feet moving on their own when a large hand pops through the portal. "What the hell is that?!!" Someone yells. I turn towards the door, slamming myself into it. I hear screaming, but my body has already moved, running itself into doors, bruising this already scarred body of mine. I run, feeling the muscles in my body tense up. I finally find myself at the exit of the building. Someone must have finally pulled the switch on this…"Realm" we had created. From behind me, I feel something…heavy…I turn back and look…A cylinder beam of blue light traps the area we called home. It begins moving, making the ground underneath it disappear instantaneously. Running, I open the car door, and hop in, turn it on, and push the accelerator. I hit the highway and dart to Salem, to my true home. The blue beam continues to move, erasing all of Portland. I feel another rumble, and as I turn to look out the back window, I see the entire city fade away, every person, business, home, and street, gone. From in front of me, I see the "Welcome to Salem" sign. The blue beam still trails behind me, and I begin to cross my fingers and pray to whatever god exists. "Please, God, save me, and my foolish ways…!" As if a miracle, the blue beam changes into a gold like yellow, and begins to fade back into what was Portland, Oregon. I stop the car, and open the door—having recklessly driven without a seatbelt—, turning back to face Portland, I see red and blue lights flicker. A Police car appears over the hill. Inching closer and closer to me, the police car stops. A police officer steps out of his unit, and walks towards me. "First off, sir you were—" I interrupt him, "What the hell did I just do…" The officer raises his brow, "What in god's name are you on about?" I turn to him, and pull out the wallet I carry, "Kurt Sawthrop, P.O.E. Director and Doctor of Dimensional Physics." He laughs, "You expect me to believe you work for a government agency?" I frown, "No." I reply. "Well then, I pulled you over today to tell you that you were—" I turn around to face him again, and he's disappeared. All of a sudden, he's appeared again, as if he's phasing in and out of dimensions. I look down at my feet, and there's little freys of the ground surrounding me. "Where am I?" I say to myself. At the snap of a finger, it all disappears again, and I'm sucked back into reality. "—you were speeding." I look him dead in the eyes, "Just take me to Salem." The officer grabs his handcuffs, and turns me onto the car, the coldness of the metal sends a shiver down my spine…
