"B-but what about them?" She looked back at the other trainees on the platform. She couldn't see them clearly from the faint glow of the emergency lights.

"Hold this for me." Lawrenz ignored her question and just pushed the flashlight into her hand. She directed it to the door that he was struggling to open. The metal door was covered with thin dust, and her father was trying to lift a thick piece of a long bar that was keeping the door inaccessible.

"Where does this lead to?" She asked curiously. He grunted, and the bar finally budged, and in one forceful move, he successfully removed it and gently placed it at the side.

"You'll see. Step aside." He nudged her out of the way as he held the dusty door handle. She could almost smell the dirt, and dust flew around, dancing in the ray of light. She waved a hand in front of her to not inhale the dusty particles that would make her sneeze.
