Glasses were crushed from the transparent cabinets that housed the suits and helmets. The white marbled floor was leaking with stained blood from the fallen hunters.
She glanced at the metal door that was lying on the floor. It was the only available thing that could shield her out of there without getting shot. There were other gunshots out of the room; it was loud enough even with the still ongoing alarm. It echoed through walls and corners.
Carmen took a deep breath and focused the remaining magic energy she had to give her super strength. It doesn't come naturally to her, unlike Melisca. In one yank, she grabbed the door handle and made it a barrier in front of her. It towered over her by more than a foot. And the weight of it was never a joke. Her jaw was set hard to maintain the flow of her magic in her arm that was keeping the door upright.
