Chapter 19

Nobody's POV

Odin stared at his wife, as she explained what had happened. He looked down ashamed; an emotion he rarely showed to anyone including his own family. He had treated the young Midgardian so crudely and passed a rather rude judgement on her without even bothering to get to understand and know his future daughter in law.

"My dear where is the girl now?" he asked Frigga, trying to hide his emotions, though his beloved wife knew him extremely well.

"Loki took her to the infirmary to help with the healing process. I am sure your son and his beloved would appreciate your gratitude." She kissed his cheek softly before leaving to alert the guards that the King had awoken.

Odin sat on his bed pondering how to approach the situation, he was grateful to the mortal girl for saving him from death. He smiled at himself as he decided to reward her for her deeds. She was already about to be a princess, perhaps he could make her a goddess and give her immortality. Odin thought harder as he dressed and began to make his way towards the infirmary where Loki and the young lady who had helped him were.

Loki's POV

I had finally made it to the infirmary with (Y/n). The royal nurse saw us arrive and immediately took us to a room where I gently laid her on the bed.

"My prince, what has happened to your lady?" the nurse asked getting everything set up to begin healing (Y/n)

"Lady (Y/n) used her own magic and possibly a bit of her life force to help save the Allfather," I began explaining trying to hide the worry and sadness in my voice.

The nurse nodded and began to heal my darling. I sat at her side for what seemed like hours. I hadn't even noticed Odin approach us.

"How is she doing, Loki?" I heard him ask from behind me. I suddenly stood up slightly startled and angered by his presences. This was his fault. He was the reason (Y/n) was here. I wanted to ask why he was here but, I resisted and answered his question, "she is resting, Father. She gave you a portion of her life to help save you. I am unsure how long it will take for her to wake." I hung my head looking back at (Y/n). Odin stepped closer his hand on my shoulder; something he hadn't done since Thor and I were children. It startled me and I had to keep from jumping.

"I am most certain your bride-to-be is going to be fine. I am extremely grateful for her saving my life. Is there anything your lady would like as a reward for her heroic deed?" he asked me, trying to offer comfort, though I knew he hadn't been this fatherly towards me in a long time. I looked at him trying to hide the shock in my face. The way he was acting almost felt unnatural, it felt like he should be berating me, not comforting me.

I sighed and took my seat next to (Y/n). I took a deep breath before responding, "she knows that as my fiancé we are to have a wedding here on Asgard and the law says that Midgardians are forbidden from the realm unless it is for the peace treaty renewal. She would enjoy getting to spend one of the most important days in her life with her family and friends at her side." I looked up at Odin, wondering if he would grant her this request or laugh at me for thinking he was sincere.

Odin chuckled, "I have an even better idea my son. I cannot make exceptions to the law, but I will allow you and your fiancé to get married on Midgard as well as the wedding here on Asgard." I looked at him shocked, I never knew Odin had such a sensitive side except for when mother was involved.

"I'm sure she would be most happy to hear that. I would like to get a hold of her family and make the arrangements, but…" I trailed off, looking back towards my beloved not wanting to leave her alone.

"Go, prepare the surprise for your fiancé, I will keep guard and notify you the moment she comes to." I shifted my weight at his offer, I didn't really trust him to be alone with her. But there was nothing he could really do with the head nurse watching over (Y/n)... I bowed slightly, accepting his offer before walking off towards our suite where the mirror Stark constructed for her was

As I was walking I couldn't help but think about how odd and different that interaction with Odin was. It was almost as if he cared… Almost as if I had finally shown him that I was a worthy son. 'Maybe.'

Meanwhile back on Earth (Avengers Tower)

Tony's POV

I was sitting in my lab going over some statistics to better the new improved and might I add un-hackable iron legion.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y, give me the rundown on this wireless connection we need to make sure it is not only secure as Fury's hold on all things secret but will also work through the comms." I spoke to my new AI. Since J.A.R.V.I.S was now known and the robot-humanoid Vision.

"Yes, boss. Running diagnostics now." Her Irish voice spoke from nowhere in particular. It felt as though the scan was taking forever so I decided to head upstairs and get some whiskey to pass the time. A few hours had passed by Nat, birdbrain and cap had gotten called out on a recognizance mission so I was home alone.

Sure is quiet without the kid around I thought to myself as I took a sip of my drink.

"Boss, in coming call from Asgard" F.R.I.D.A.Y announced. "Thanks Friday I'll take the call here and keep running the diagnostic test." She confirmed orders as one of the many holographic screens popped up.

I smiled expecting to see (Y/n), it had been months since she had left since time worked differently between worlds.

"Hello, Stark" replied the one person or rather god I never thought would contact me.

"Hey, Reindeer Games never thought I would hear from you. Either something terrible happened to your girlfriend or you just feel like bugging me from your world just because you're bored." I replied my voice void of any emotions.

Honestly when is this guy gonna get it through his thick skull that I really don't like him any farther than I could throw him. I thought as I waited for his response.

"Well I could annoy you but it would make my darling unhappy so I shall try to play nice. As for your question pertaining to her she is currently healing. " he replied almost sounding bored.

"What happened to her? I swear Reindeer Games if I find out you hurt her I will find a way to Asgard and I will kick your magical ass." I growled glaring at him.

"I didn't injure her. When we returned home to Asgard we learned Odin had fallen ill and was in as we call it 'odinsleep'. Mother was quite distraught. My darling (y/n) offered to help revive or rather heal Odin. In doing so she gave him a portion of her life force." He spoke almost sounding proud, yet there were emotions he was trying to hide, worry… sadness.. perhaps.

"And you have called me why?" I asked trying not to sound annoyed at talking to him more than I normally would have. "There has to be more of a reason than to tell me she saved your father from near death."

He rolled his eyes obviously he wasn't amused at my annoyance. "Odin as you are well aware has forbidden humans from Asgard, but… as a gift to my beloved for healing him, he has agreed to let us have a wedding on Midgard with her friends and family. I was hoping you could help me plan the wedding as a pleasant surprise for her." He finished speaking and waited rather impatiently for my response.

To say I was beyond shock was an understatement. I was not only shocked but truly touched at his gesture.

"You want me, the guy you hate most on Earth apart from Fury to help you plan a surprise wedding?" I repeat his question thinking I had misheard him.

"Yes Stark please try and keep up" he spoke trying not to growl with annoyance.

I thought for a few moments. As much as I can't stand him, he does treat (n/n) well. Plus she has always been like a daughter to me. I weighed the options then answered "I'm only doing this for (y/n) because she's been like a daughter to me since we rescued her." Loki nodded and actually thanked me.

"So first thing first, where do you want to take her for the honeymoon?" I asked, already pulling up websites and getting ready to make reservations for them. Loki supplied all the answers.

"She keeps saying she wants to take me to some world called Disney, Is that even a real planet?" He asked, I shook my head.

"Reindeer Games, she means Disney world. it's an amusement park, it's the perfect place for mischievous couples" I told him trying not to laugh as his concept of Disney world. Now obviously the men are wearing gold and emerald green. What colors for the bridal party? "

"(first f/c) and (second F/c)" he said adding "and her favorite flowers should be in the bouquet" I nodded, ordering the colors and picking out a few styles of dresses for Nat, pepper and Hill to choose from. "Let me guess death by chocolate cake for your wedding cake done in both of your colors?" I knew they both had a strong love for chocolate and smirked when his eyes lit up at the mention of it.

Half an hour had passed before a guard had interrupted Loki. He gave me a rushed goodbye, before leaving quickly. I didn't take offense as it obviously had to do with the kid. I finished making the rest of the reservation making sure the venues understood the reservation couldn't be canceled until 3 years from now just to be sure I wouldn't be stabbed if this wedding didn't go as planned.

As soon as the rest of the avengers had gotten back to the tower I filled them in on our new mission, they eagerly jumped right in to help. (Y/n) would definitely be surprised.

Loki's POV

While Odin watched over my darling (Y/n), I used her special mirror Stark had created for her. I want to surprise her with a special wedding with her family and friends on Midgard and there was only one person who could help; Yet he was the last person I would ever contact if it wasn't important.

"Hello, Stark" I greeted him rather calmly and gentlemanlike.

"Hey, Reindeer Games never thought I would hear from you. Either something terrible happened to your girlfriend or you just feel like bugging me from your world just because you're bored." he replied, voice void of any emotions.

"Well I could annoy you but it would make my darling unhappy so I shall try to play nice. As for your question pertaining to her she is currently healing. " I replied, almost sounding bored.

"What happened to her? I swear Reindeer Games if I find out you hurt her I will find a way to Asgard and I will kick your magical ass." Stark growled glaring at me.

"I didn't injure her. When we returned home to Asgard we learned Odin had fallen ill and was in as we call it 'Odinsleep'. Mother was quite distraught. My darling (y/n) offered to help revive or rather heal Odin. In doing so she gave him a portion of her life force." I spoke almost sounding proud, yet there were emotions I was trying to hide, worry… sadness.. perhaps.

"And you have called me why?" Stark asked, trying not to sound annoyed at having to talk to me more then both of us would have liked. "There has to be more of a reason than to tell me she saved your father from near death."

I rolled my eyes, obviously not amused at Stark's annoyance. "Odin as you are well aware has forbidden humans from Asgard, but… as a gift to my beloved for healing him, he has agreed to let us have a wedding on Midgard with her friends and family. I was hoping you could help me plan the wedding as a pleasant surprise for her." I finished speaking and waited rather impatiently for his response.

"You want me, the guy you hate most on Earth apart from Fury to help you plan a surprise wedding?" he repeated thinking he had misheard me.

"Yes Stark please try and keep up" I spoke trying not to growl with annoyance.

There was a moment of silence as I watched him contemplate how he would respond "I'm only doing this for (y/n) because she's been like a daughter to me since we rescued her." I nodded and genuinely thanked him.

"So first thing first, where do you want to take her for the honeymoon?" Stark asked

"She keeps saying she wants to take me to some world called Disney, Is that even a real planet?" I asked, Stark shook his head obviously trying not to give a sarcastic response.

"Reindeer Games, she means Disney world. it's an amusement park, it's the perfect place for mischievous couples" he explained trying not to laugh as my concept of Disney World. Now obviously the men are wearing gold and emerald green. What colors for the bridal party? "

Everyone knew (y/n) and I both had a strong love for chocolate and smirked when my eyes lit up at the mention of it.

Half an hour had passed before a guard had interrupted our planning. I gave Stark a rushed goodbye, before leaving quickly. My darling was awake and I had to make sure she was safe and Odin didn't ruin the surprise.

Back on Asgard

Normal Pov

You had finished healing the Allfather when you suddenly collapsed, Loki had caught you just as you lost consciousness. You felt yourself being carried before being placed on a soft surface. Minutes, hours maybe even weeks had passed, being unconscious gave you a complete loss of a sense of time. After what felt like ages had passed you slowly opened your eyes looking around the room. You were in an infirmary, you looked to your side and was shocked at who greeted you. You had been expecting Loki at your bedside and yet the Allfather was watching after you.

You tried to sit up quickly to acknowledge him properly, he simply placed a hand gently on your shoulder "My dear, you do not need to move so quickly," he spoke softly to you helping you to sit up on the bed making sure you didn't fall.

"Allfather, what brings you to my bedside?" you asked him trying not to offend the king.

"I wanted to express my gratitude for you saving my life. I am sorry I never gave you a proper chance and judged you before getting to know you the way Loki and my Queen have," he told you. Nodding you looked about the room for Loki.

"Speaking of Loki where is he?" Odin simply smiled, before responding.

"He is preparing a gift for you my dear, I shall have a guard announce that you are awake." He summoned a guard and within minutes you were in Loki's arms as he held you close making sure you were ok. You giggled, repeatedly telling your silly trickster that you were perfectly fine.

"I must go and alert the servants, Loki's birthday is in 3 days which means your wedding must take place soon. Again, I thank you most humbly for saving my life" Odin bowed his head to you before he returned to his kingly duties.

Once Odin was out of the room you turned your attention to Loki curious as to what he was planning for you. "Odin said you were working on a gift for me, may I ask what it is?" You softly asked but Loki simply shook his head.

"If I tell you, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it? I know you hate surprises, but I promise you will love this one. Also, I believe it's time that I tell you about a wedding on Asgard." You huffed but nodded,

"Before you explain, can we please go to your room, I absolutely hate hospitals," you laughed trying to lighten the mood. Loki picked you up and teleported you to his room.

Loki's Pov

Once we were safely in my chambers and (Y/n) was resting on the bed comfortably I began to explain a marriage on Asgard.

"Darling, have you noticed the strange tattoo like swirls on mothers left arm?" I asked her gently, trying to explain in a way she would be able to understand.

She nodded replying, "I have, I wondered what it was but I was too shy to ask, I didn't want to seem rude." I smiled at my loving sweetheart.

"Well, those marks are a result of a soul binding. When a couple marries on Asgard they recite a vow and bind their souls to each other," I paused looking over at (Y/n) to make sure she nodded waiting for me to finish, "when the vow is spoken, not only are their souls bound together, but they also share a life force and if they have magic it is shared between them as well. Meaning when we marry you will be able to not only use your magic but mine as well, and you will be able to live as long as I do."

"It sounds like soulmate stuff, but I love you so much Loki, I would be honored to be soul bound to you. Does it hurt?" she asked softly, trying to wrap her mind around all the information. I shook my head and pulled her into my embrace. "No my darling, it will tingle and you will feel a bit overwhelmed when you gain all my magic and knowledge but it will not hurt you." I smiled, placing a kiss on her forehead as she yawned and fell asleep still needing to rest a bit more before the ceremony the next day.
