Market

"Hey John, snap out of it. Are you going to buy these herbs or not?"

I snapped out of my daze, I looked at the shopkeeper and gave him a nervous smile. I reached into my pocket and grabbed my gold pouch, I stuck my hand in it and rustled around for a bit until I got the right amount.

"Sorry, I got lost in thought. I'm just nervous about going to the World Tree, I want to make my brothers death not in vain."

"If you want to stand a chance you should probably go form a party, that'll definitely help you out. Though, nowadays nobody wants to risk their lives for a rumor that might not even be true."

The shopkeeper grabbed some extra herbs and put it in my hand, he winked at me and walked away from his stall. I looked at my list of what I needed and saw that I only needed one thing left, a weapon.

I walked towards where the weapon stall and noticed that the shopkeeper was talking to a kid that looked like he was around my age, they seemed to be arguing about something.

"Fifty gold is way to cheap kid, the blade itself cost one hundred and fifty gold! Come back once you get enough gold."

The shopkeeper was yelling at the kid, I looked at the kid and noticed that he was on the verge of tears.

"You don't understand sir, my little sister ran into the World Tree and I need to save her! I don't know what I'd do with myself if she died!"

The shopkeeper stepped back in shock, I looked around to see that the entire market was staring. I let out a little sigh and grabbed the kid's shoulder, he looked back at me with a sad expression.

"How much gold do you need? It just so happens that I'm also heading towards the tree, so I can possibly help you with saving your sister."

I gave the kid a small smile, he wiped his eyes and smiled back. The crowd that surrounded us started to disperse now seeing that the conflict was over.

"I tried to barter but failed miserably, I only need seventy-five gold. Sorry, I know it's a lot to ask for."

The kid rubbed the back of his head, he looked down in embarrassment. I let out a small laugh, what he was asking for was pretty much nothing to me.

"It's not that big of a deal, here I'll pay for the sword you want. You just stay there and cheer up, this will take a couple of minutes."

I dropped my pouch of gold and purchased the sword the kid wanted and the one I wanted, the man gave me back by pouch and waved me goodbye.

"Here you go, now let's not waste anytime. We have a sister that needs to be saved, now let's get going!"
