Quest One: Kill the Giant Fish!

"Those stables were terrible, but at least they were better than the rooms in the inn." I groaned.

The tree's version of the sun was brightening, causing me to have to squint my eyes. I reached into my bag to see if I had anything to eat but didn't see anything.

"Hey John, Steven, and Fang. Why do you guys look so tired?" Asked Alice, walking over to us from the inn.

"I'd rather not get into details about what we saw." I said. Alice looked at me for a moment until bursting out in laughter.

"So you got one of the trashed rooms, that sucks. Anyway, I'm hungry and I don't have enough velp to buy anything so we might as well find a quest to go on." Said Alice, wiping the tears from her eyes from laughing.

I looked at the others and shrugged. 'A quest wouldn't be to bad of an idea, except for the fact that Emma still doesn't have a weapon.' I thought to myself.

"A quest isn't a bad idea, but we're limited to what we can do since Emma here doesn't have weapon." I said.

"I'll teach her magic then, that way she won't have to use a weapon." Responded Alice.

All of a sudden Alice walked up to her and crouched down. I heard her whispering something to her but I couldn't make out what it was. All of a sudden Emma reached out her hands and shot a fireball out of them.

"What in the cinnamon toast frick was that?!" Steven yelled. Everyone looked at him for a moment and gave him a confused expression.

"What she did was a spell called 'fire ball'. Not a very creative name but it works. I also taught her how to use healing magic." Said Alice with a proud expression.

"But how did you do it so fast? It took me forever to learn my fire magic, and even then I'll make the occasional mistake." I asked. Alice gave me a cheeky smile and walked off to a board that had 'quests' written on the top of it.

"Ooh, this one looks easy. It says that at Lake Crusch there's a giant fish that's been causing trouble lately. If we kill it then we can get five hundred velp." Said Alice.

I walked up to see the paper Alice was looking for and examined it. Sure enough, it was exactly as Alice said.

"Once we kill the fish we can bring back evidence to the inn so they can give us the reward." Explained Alice.

"Hey John, before we go I got to take care of something real quick." Whispered Fang. All of a sudden he ran behind a bush and I could hear the sound of running water.

"Sorry about that, got thirsty and ran towards the water fountain over there. Ok I'm ready now." Said Fang.

I rolled my eyes and proceeded to exit the town. Though something was different about it, it seemed more alive than it did before.

"Come on guys, Lake Crusch is this way! I'd rather be back before nightfall so let's not waste any time!" Yelled Alice.
