A New Blade

"These goblins are nothing, this quest is a breeze." I said with a big grin. Another goblin ran up to me but before it could strike I cut it in half.

As usual, the body disappeared but this time it left a sword that was around the same size as the one I was using.

"Hey Steven, check this out! The goblin dropped a sword, want it?" I asked. I picked up the sword and showed it to him. He shook his head and continued looking for goblins.

'Guess I'll keep it.' I thought. I put the blade inside of my belt and continued looking for goblins.

"Hey guys, I think we killed all of them. We can now return to home and receive our prize." Said Fang wagging his tail.

"Hey wait, did we ever learn the name of the town we've been staying at? We've been doing quests for at least a month and we still need to reach the second floor." Said Steven.

"Pretty sure it's called Juniper Town, I'm pretty sure I saw a sign saying it's name but I don't remember." Answered Fang.

I put my sword back into my sheath and left the cave we were in. As I left the cave I heard something whisper to me. I looked down at where it came from and saw that it was coming from the new blade I had just picked up.

"Oh hell no, I am not about to have a cursed weapon. Bubbles give me your hammer, I'm breaking this sword before it causes a whole arc." I said.

Bubbles gave me a funny look before shrugging and giving me the hammer. I threw the whispering weapon on the ground and readied the hammer.

I smashed the hammer against the sword and saw the weapon break into small pieces. I lifted the hammer up but then realized that the blade was coming back together.

"Anybody know a close body of lava I can throw this sword in? Body of water would work too but preferably lava." I asked.

"Lake Blossom is to our north, we could use that if you're ok with that?" Answered Fang.

The blade all of a sudden started to glow, I watched it carefully as it exploded and saw what looked like a human emerge.

The human had a female body with bright blonde hair and blue eyes. She wore a light blue dress and had a sword that looked like the one she came from on her hip.

"It feels so nice to be out of that thing. How long's it been, thirty years? Man, it's been a while. Anyway, thanks for freeing me human. As a way of thanking you I will accompany you and your party. But first, let me tell you my name-." I cut her off.

"Probably not a good idea to join us, first thing I thought when I heard whispering was 'kill it with fire!'" I said. The girl gave me a puzzled look and shrugged.

"Wouldn't be a first time. Anyway, my name's April, nice to meet you."
