A Catch

"You're kidding me, there actually wasn't a catch? This house was so cheap yet it looks so nice." I said with astonishment.

I walked to the door and put the key inside the lock. I twisted the key and opened the door slowly, expecting something bad to happen. Instead, all I got was an empty room.

"Does this count as a catch? I mean, we got the house for cheap so I'd expect us to be missing something. I'm not complaining though, all we need to do is buy furniture." I said.

Everyone entered the building and walked around. The only room that was partially furnished was the kitchen. I passed the kitchen and walked towards what would be the living room.

"Hey guys, I'm gonna check out what the upstairs look like." I said. I walked up the stairs looking around to see if something was off.

At the top of the stairs there was a hallway with a chair at the end of it. On that chair sat a doll with its head turned. I looked at her for a moment until walked back down the stairs slowly.

"What's up there John? You weren't up there long so I'm guessing there wasn't anything?" Asked Steven sitting on the floor.

"No, there was something. I don't want to act too hastily but there's a creepy looking doll up there. Stay together in groups tonight to be safe, I'd rather not get murdered in my sleep by a doll." I said.

Everyone looked at me for a moment and decided to head towards the stairs to see what I was talking about. When they reached the top I could here them saying something.

"Hey John, there's nothing here. You sure you didn't just imagine it?" Asked Fang.

I turned my head towards where Fangs voice came from but thought I saw something in the corner of my eye. I turned to see what I believed I saw but saw nothing.

"Something isn't right here. I know for a fact that I saw a doll upstairs and yet everyone is saying that they don't see anything." I said.

I let out a small sigh and sat on the floor, leaning against the wall. As I sat there I heard a small clacking noise, causing me to look around and see what was making the noise.

"What are you doing in my home?" A small voice came from behind me. 'There's a wall behind me, why is there a voice coming from it?' I thought to myself.

A small knocking noise came from the window. I turned my head and saw a small girl holding a doll looking right at me. My eyes widened, I jumped up from my spot and kept my eyes on her.

"John, everything ok down there? We heard a knocking noise. You better not be trying to scare us." Said Alice.

I turned my head towards her voice for a moment until immediately turning my head back towards the window, the girl was gone.

"Goddammit, there was a catch!"
