Misunderstanding

For the past five minutes, Alice had been casting ice on my back to cool it off. I really did want to be the one to kill that monster and now I'm paying for my greediness. I still got that kill though so I'd say it was worth it.

"I totally killed that monster." Alice said.

I turned my head and gave her a confused look, "what? I totally killed that monster first."

Right when I finished talking, Alice casted even more ice on my back causing me to yelp in pain. As I swung my head in pain, I saw a glimpse of two figures standing right next to us.

"I didn't realize you were into this sort of thing, John." Ichiro said with a horrified Akio standing behind him.

I had somehow found myself in quite the predicament. Before I could even try to explain my situation, the ground below us began to shake violently. Small geysers shot out all around the water and steam began to shoot up from the middle of the room.

"I'll explain what you just saw later. Right now I think we need to focus on whatever is about to rise up from that water." I said, using Genki as balance to pick myself up.

"I'm not judging." Ichiro said, his eyes full of judgement.

I could hear Alice snicker behind me which was enough to make my face turn red from embarrassment.

A blue serpent suddenly shot out from the water, creating huge waves which covered us in water. The serpent shook its tail and stared at us with malicious intent. If it weren't for Akio tugging the back of my cloak, I would have just stayed frozen.

"Well that's a big snake." Ichiro said, activating his aura.

"Way to point out the obvious." Alice said, also activating her aura.

The snake let out a loud hiss which was enough to make Akio and I activate our aura and get into a fighting stance.
