"If you think you can use that Genmochi's power then don't even bother. There hasn't been a confirmed user in centuries so I doubt some random kid like you can wield it." Metalbeard sighed.
He began to stretch his back and I could here clearly hear his bones being popped. Just how long had he been sitting there for his back to pop like that?
"I suppose you two are here to save your friends? There's no point in hiding it. I can see it in your eyes." Metalbeard said before letting out a massive yawn.
"What did you do with them?" I asked, pointing my new weapon at Metalbeard.
Metalbeard let out a tired sigh, "do you even know what kind of weapon you're holding? Of course not, you probably only ever used swords before."
He completely avoided my question. He wasn't wrong though. I had only ever used swords before so using a something like this felt weird. It looked like a spear but it had clear differences from one so I had no idea what to call it. I don't even know why I decided to pick it up either, it just felt right. Now isn't the time to think about this though.
"Tell me where our friends are!" I shouted once more.
"They're in the room behind me. You won't be able to get there though unless you defeat me." Metalbeard said, unsheathing his cutlass.
Figures as much. I stepped in front of Emma as a way to protect her and signaled her to fall back. I know that she wanted to fight too but I just couldn't let her.
"Do you even know how to use that weapon?" Metalbeard asked, his face now completely serious.
The air in the room had completely changed. I was about to take a step back out of shock but managed to stop myself.
"I work well under pressure so I'm sure I'll learn quickly."
