Beyond Earth

"Where are Enny and Faye?" I asked as I gently pulled her away from me and she wiped away the tears that escaped from the corners of her eyes before furrowing her brows in confusion.

"That's what I just asked you." Her voice was barely audible.

"I should be the one asking you. You were with Enny," I stated as I grabbed her shoulder with one hand since I was holding the rifle in the other hand.

"We got separated in the Baybell while being chased by a horde. The both of them climbed a fire escape to a building's roof but Laleh and I got away," Tara announced as she stepped away from Zeke. "We later went back to the fire escape they climbed but we didn't find them on the roof. We haven't seen them since but we sort of found their trail and were following it before we lost it."

"What trail? How? Where?" I asked in a rush just as Laleh walked over to my mum who tightly wrapped her arms around her.
