Chapter 26

"Do you think they're discussing our 'own good' out there," Adam asked as he sat up from his bed.

"I think that they think they're doing what's good for us," Sarah responded, "whether they're right or not remains to be seen."

Adam chuckled and sat down on her bed, his weight dipping the mattress.

"I asked Austin not to tell my parents, they don't need to worry about all this"

"True, they're probably in the middle of the ocean somewhere. With their cruise." Sarah said, smiling as she remembered Adam's eccentric parents.

"I've never been more glad for their lifestyle," Adam said with a wry smile his tone belying the gravity of their situation. Sarah looked at him her heart swirling with worry, she was about to tell him something when Elias came into the room, his eyes locking on Sarah. He walked toward her and took her hand in his.

"Do you feel okay to be moving around like this?" He asked Adam who now stood beside the bed a sheepish grin on his face.
