Leilah almost sighed out loud when the lawyer said that, She got herself ready and left the room determined to avoid any contact with either her parents or the Sandstones for now. They could discuss the custody matters later, but for now, she just wished to avoid trouble and have a peaceful day.


But there was no chance of that happening as he parents caught up to her and called out,


"Where do you think you're going?" Her mother said with venom, and Leilah wondered why this woman even pretended to have an ounce of motherly love for her children.


"I was heading back home," Leilah responded cooly knowing that her plans were clearly busted and she was not going to succeed in slipping away peacefully this time.
