Chapter Twenty-four

Truthfully, he and Mayra got along pretty well. They had more common grounds than he could've imagined. He'd rather die than admit it—but he had enjoyed their conversations. She actually knew what she was talking about and not just pretending to be all-knowledgeable and that spiked some interest within him. But Mayra had heard him speak the exact opposite about her. They were all lies. He had never meant them but he had said those words then in front of Pihu.

A part of him wondered if he did regret hurting her.

At a point, Ahaan almost missed why he had decided on getting closer to her. Revenge. His sweet revenge. Yes. He could've sworn they would've ended up as great friends but then Pihu had asked him about them and he'd had to come up with a lie—which was the truth once.

If Ahaan had planned on making Pihu jealous, why would he ever pick Mayra? Couldn't Pihu see through his lie? Sure, Mayra was pretty.
