Chapter 35: The Royal Wedding

The crowds of people watched Elizabella pass them as they opted to drive on land versus to hover above in the sky. This way, the people were able to see her clearly pass by as she waved demurely to the passing people.

The crowds joyfully waved, hooted and shouted as she would pass them, while media coverage was all over the passing points in higher altitudes to report on where she was. Foreign media also joined in on the fun as they too were dressed for the occasion and commented on the passing future Crown Princess.

The whole world was glued to their screens as they watched her pass, some not caring what time it was in their respective time zones. Everyone watching was visibly excited over this marriage.

When she finally arrived to the ceremony location, people were crowding the sides of the grand steps leading to the church and even on the sidewalk, making security personal barricade the way to get closer to the future princess.

Elizabella elegantly got off the vehicle as someone opened the door for her as a few royal ladies came and helped her off with her long train and quickly got out of the way for everyone to see her properly. The crowds were in awe and the reporters quickly snapped their photos and commented on her look with the information that the palace had given them for them to report on.

She shyly looked at everyone there as she was led up the steps to her waiting uncle, who everyone thought was her father, and inside the grand church. As the double doors opened, people could see inside the guests standing up and looking her way as small and silent drones hovered over their heads and one even seemed to lead her and her father inside to the alter.

The old ornate organ played as she quietly and elegantly took her steps down the aisle with a shy smile on her face with a natural blush, making her look like a girl in love. The Crown Prince stood at the front watching quietly as he gazed her with a soft smile while Zander stood next to him. The Queen, Dowager Queen were sitting on stage watching her approach the alter.

What was surprising to see, sitting in between the two of them, in a throne was the King himself. However, no one seemed to notice his quiet demeanor as he sat majestically on his throne, seemingly paying attention to his future daughter-in-law. His gaze seemed to only focus on her as she approached, never giving the impression that he felt like he wanted to faint while he tried to maintain his even breathing, making the two grand ladies sitting to either side of him, very nervous.

Eventually, Elizabella was presented by her father to the waiting Crown Prince, who took her hand and turned to look at the Minister, while her father went to stand next to his wife and sons who had been standing at the front row.

Outside the venue, the masses watched in front of their screens as the wedding commenced in eager anticipation. They witnessed the couple finally meeting at the alter and holding hands while the ceremony started.

Many people commented on the wedding dress and how dashing the two young princes looked in their formal military attire. Since this was the Crown Prince's wedding, the ceremony was made in splendid fashion. Even though he had never served in the military, he was allowed to wear the formal attire alongside his cousin, Prince Zander.

The people watched the choir singing and how everyone that they could see attending the wedding were dressed in the finest clothes. Many people watching outside took note of the fashions that they saw so that they could imitate it later and who was able to attend.

The ceremony continued with the Minister addressing the couple and telling them the solemnity of their marriage and the sanctity of what it means. Then they proceeded with the exchange of rings, which Prince Zander held and gave them to Prince Maxen. The rings were exchanged, as the crowds watched on with bated breaths, waiting for the final remarks as the Minister continued on with his closing statement.

"By the power vested in me by the Kingdom of Glear, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Crown Prince and Crown Princess. You may now kiss the bride."

With these words of the Minister, the young royal couple shared their first public kiss, though some may call it a peck but it was excused as they were still young and should not know too much of these things. The crowds applauded as the Minister yelled very loudly over their applauding, "I present to you the newly married Crown Royal couple."

The couple turned to look at the guests with shy smiles as the organ began to play and they began to walk to towards the exit together, while the guests continued to stand and applaud.

The large double doors opened, finally the waiting crowds could see the new married royals and joyfully threw confetti and flower petals over the couple. Behind the large church, fireworks began to go off, making everyone fully aware that they were officially married.

The joyful noise was heard far and wide as everyone flooded the streets with their own fireworks and confetti thrown around them. The newly weds were led to a waiting vehicle that was different from the one that had brought her to the church as this one was gold plated. They both got in and took a turn around the large town for all to see before heading back to the Palace.

The King, Queen and Dowager Queen had already made their way to the Palace and waited patiently with the royal guests in the reception room that was grandly decorated for the occasion.

When they finally made it to the reception room, they were announced loudly by a servant and loud joyful shouts were heard as more confetti and flower petals were thrown at the entrance by standing guests. They were led to the head table were the royal leaders sat waiting for them to come and sit in the center.

Once they sat down, feasting began, not just in the Palace but outside in the streets as well. The Royal Family had organized special gatherings for the public where they would be served the same foods that the Palace would be consuming that day. This way, everyone felt like they were really part of the wedding festivities.

Reporters were not allowed inside the reception, but the Palace had allowed special drones to record what was happening inside, further allowing the common people to feel like they were inside the Palace as well. This was in an attempt to make the people like the new royal couple more, in case the King passes suddenly due to his poor health that the masses were still not made aware of.

The large tiered wedding cake was eventually sliced by the couple and took the first bite together, before servants appeared in droves with trays of already cut pieces and presented to the guests in the Palace, as well as the special gathering spots for the common people.

Lastly, the Royal Family, including all the extended families that were present, made their way to the balcony that overlooked to the crowds of people outside and waved. The waiting crowds cheered as they saw the family wave. Again, no one noticed that the King needed assistance to stand since his Shadow Guards helped him stand from his shadow.

As everything proceeded as planned, Elizabella finally noticed the King's countenance and realized that he had been silent throughout the whole ordeal. She even remembered that she had yet to be formally introduced to her new father-in-law, which she had found odd. Yet, all she could do at this time was continue with the play and smile while waved to the masses.
