Spooky Season! A Haunted School Dance!

[10 Months Before Las Vegas]

"BOO!" Kaminari scared the hell out of me as I left my room.

"HOLY SHIT!!" I yelled.

Kaminari was laughing his head off while I was trying to catch my breath.

"Dude, I've never seen you jump like that!" Kaminari chuckled.

"Probably because nobody ever thinks about scaring me!" I replied.

We went downstairs and noticed that everyone was gathered around talking about something.

"Hey! What's goin' on?" I asked.

"There were a bunch of flyers around school today talking about some sort of Halloween Dance." Shoji told me.

"AND there's a duo costume competition too!" Uraraka added.

A duo costume competition? Who would I even go with? What would I even wear?

"So, we've decided to draw names to see who we'd partner with. It should make things interesting." Shoto spoke up.

In the middle of the kitchen table was a bowl with everyone's name on it, we all took turns drawing out names from the bowl.

"GOD FUCKING DAMN IT!! NO! FUCK THAT!" Bakugo shouted as he read his slip of paper.

"Who'd you get, Bakugo?" Kirishima asked.

It looked like Bakugo was steaming with anger!

"I GOT THAT DAMN NERD!!" Bakugo roared.

Deku looked at his slip of paper, "Well, I got you, Kacchan! So-"

"FUUUCK!!!" Bakugo screamed.

Everyone was trying not to laugh! As I pulled out my piece of paper, I read it then I looked up.

"Oh! Momo!" I called out.

I showed her my paper, "Looks like we're partners! Unless you chose whoever's on yours."

She opened up her slip of paper and looked down in disgust, "Yeah... I think I'll be with you."

I looked down at her paper, she pulled Mineta's name! Mineta hopped up on a chair and looked at the paper lying on the table.

"You bastard! If it wasn't for your charming good loo- I MEAN- MY sheer perfection...!" He quickly restated.

"Good grief... I'm pretty sure someone'll go with you, Mineta." I reassured him.

[One Hour Later...]

Momo and I were in my room coming up with ideas for the costumes. Although we had a week until the dance, it's better to be early than late!

Momo tapped a pencil on her notebook, "Hmm... What about being Cats and Dogs? I think that would be rather adorable."

I sat there for a few seconds thinking, that could've been a good idea, but I'm not sure.

"Well, that kinda feels a bit... Not generic... But too simple, you know?" I replied.

She looked back down at the paper, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

We sat there in deep thought until I thought of an idea! I pulled out my phone and showed Momo what I wanted her to make.

"Well, as long as you promise to get rid of it. I don't want to take the easy route on this competition." Momo told me.

I nodded my head, I looked away as she started creating the costume. It only took about a minute or so for it to be complete. I went into the bathroom to put it on, it looked identical to the picture! I rushed back into my room and started striking poses.

"Evil doers beware! The Great Saiyaman is here!" I exclaimed while posing.

Momo covered her mouth and laughed, "Oh my goodness!"

I took off the helmet, "Well, I think it'd be cool! There's another outfit as well that goes with mine!"

"Well I think you look cute- I mean cool! Like, you look rather cool!" Momo quickly corrected.

"Well, if I looked cute in it, that's all you had to say!" I laughed.

Momo's face went red, "T-That's not what I meant at all!"

"Well, would you want to wear this?" I grinned.

I showed her the other outfit, she actually really liked it! I was honestly surprised, I thought it would take us hours to figure out what to wear.

[The Next Day...]

Momo and I went to this high-class, fancy tailor to get our costumes made. We stopped a couple feet away from the tailor.

"Alyx, hold my hand." Momo spoke up.

"W-What?" I stuttered.

She pointed to a sign, "Couples get half off on their purchases. Plus I get a discount already since the owner knows my family."

I nodded my head and grabbed her hand. We walked into the store, it smelled like fabric and new shoes.

"Ah! Ms. Yaoyorozu! It's a pleasure to see you again!" The woman smiled.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Shirogane!" Momo replied.

Mrs. Shirogane gasped in excitement as she looked down, "Is he... Your boyfriend?! How cute!"

I nodded my head, "Yep! We're here to get some costumes tailored."

"I see, what exactly are you two looking for?" She asked.

We showed her the pictures of the costumes we wanted, she scribbled down some stuff on a notepad, took our measurements, and calculated out the total on a calculator.

"So, with everything needed, you two are looking at roughly... ¥27,311.86!" Mrs. Shirogane estimated.

Momo and I pulled out a combined ¥30,000 to pay for the fee.

Mrs. Shirogane nodded with delight, "Wonderful! We'll get on it right away!"

We thanked her and left the shop.

"Wow, for a second there I thought we weren't going to get that couples discount! We handled that pretty well." Momo mentioned.

"Yeah! I honestly thought she'd see right through us!" I chuckled.

[The Day of the Halloween Dance...]

The day arrived! Mrs. Shirogane mailed our costumes to us and we checked them out in my room.

"Woah, these looks identical to the pictures!" I noted.

The dance was in a couple of hours so we had pretty much all the time in the world to get ready. I'm really excited to see what everyone else was doing! We tried our costumes on just to see of they'd fit. I walked out of the bathroom with my "Great Saiyaman" costume. It actually fit quite well, I honestly might use this as my hero costume someday!

"Hey! How do I look?" I heard Momo ask.

I turned around to look at her.

"W-Woah... Your costume looks incredible!" I beamed.

I was thinking about saying "wow, you look beautiful!" or "you look amazing, Momo!" but I figured that would've made things awkward. We went downstairs and saw everyone else getting ready. Deku & Bakugo were both insane looking ghosts, Kirishima & Mina were zombie dogs, Uraraka & Tokoyami were an astronaut and an alien, Tsu & Shoji were frogs, Kaminari & Jiro were a fly and a fly swatter, Ojiro & Hagakure were knights, Shoto & Mineta were pasta noodles, Koda & Sato were scarecrows, and Sero & Iida were these cool looking dragons! Aoyama, on the other hand, didn't draw from the bowl. He "wanted his light to shine the brightest."

"You all look great!" I projected in an All Might-like voice.

"Wow! You and Yaoyorozu look cool!" Tsu complimented.

"Thank you!" Momo responded.

We all walked to Gym Gamma, I was super excited for this dance! People were already inside, music was playing, and people were talking or dancing. It was pretty packed in here!

[One Hour Later...]

"ALLLLLLLLLRIGHT my ghouls! It's time to slooooow things down a bit!" Present Mic announced.

Slow dance music started to play and Kaminari elbowed me.

"Hey! Go ask Yaoyorozu to dance with you!" Kaminari exclaimed.

"W-What?! I would but I-" Mina tried to push me towards Momo.

"No excuses! It's just slow dancing!" Mina told me.

I sighed at her, "Alright, I'll do it."

Kaminari told me to say some cheesy pick up line, but I honestly wasn't going to use it. I made my way over to Momo who was looking at the crowd of slow dancers. I stood in front of her and took off my costume's helmet. I stuck my hand out and she grabbed it.

"I've been searching for a sidekick, and you look like my type!" I smiled at her as I said it in my All Might-like voice.

Momo shook her head and laughed, "You really are dedicated to this, aren't you?"

She put her hand on mine and I took her onto the dance floor. I put my hands on her waist and she put her arms around my neck. We were swaying left and right slowly.

"I'm gonna be honest, I really just copied what everyone else was doing. I seriously didn't know how to do this until now." I admitted with a bit of a laugh.

Momo was looking to the side, "Well, you're doing great so fa-"

Momo and I finally made eye contact. It felt exactly like that moment when she had me over for dinner. Everything around us seemingly slowed down and all I could see was her. We both were blushing, what could I even say? We got closer and closer to each other and we closed our eyes, right as we actually kissed, I heard Kaminari yell.

"OOOOOH SHIT! HE DID IT!" Kaminari screamed.

Momo and I opened our eyes and realized what just happened, our faces immediately went red and we turned towards Kaminari, Mina, Kirishima, and Uraraka.

"WHA- I- DA- WAIT!" I stuttered.

"K-KAMINARI I- WE-" Momo stuttered as well.

"It seems as if you and Yaoyorozu are a thing. I was correct after all." Shoto announced.

Shoto startled me as I didn't think that a giant macaroni noodle was standing right next to me.

"G-GEEZ!" I shouted.

Momo turned and looked at me, and I was holding my right arm.

"Sooo.... That was interesting." I sighed.

Momo nodded her head in agreement.

"Yeah, that was. But honestly," Momo leaned towards my ear, "It seems like 'The Great Saiyaman's' a pretty good kisser."

I felt my face burn up and I tensed up.

"R-Really?" I asked.

Momo laughed and winked, "Come on, let's head back to everyone else, shall we?"

Man, this has been one hell of a dance! I'd imagine that we'd be hearing about who won the costume contest soon.

"This has actually been really fun!" Shoji chuckled.

"Yeah! Everyone has some pretty cool looking costumes, too!" Ojiro added.

We all got blinded by a light, we blocked the ray of light, "Oh? Am I too dazzling for you? ★"

"W-What are you wearing, Aoyama?" Uraraka wondered.

"A winning costume, that's what!" Aoyama responded.

I shook my head, "Good grief..."

[Several Minutes Later...]

"Dude! Someone spiked the punch!" Kirishima told me.

I looked down at my cup, I hadn't even touched my first drink and someone already spiked the damn punch bowl? I looked over and saw kids stumbling around the gym. My eyes widened as I saw that Momo was among them. I quickly walked over to her to make sure she was okay. She almost fell backwards, luckily I caught her!

"Hey, are you alright?" I asked.

"Neeever been *hiccup* better!" Momo slurred and laughed.

I looked over and noticed that Kaminari was brain dead and doing his usual face and thumbs up combo, Deku was spinning in circles on the ground, and Bakugo was having a screaming match with Monoma. Momo put her hand onto my helmet and smacked it lightly a few times.

"C-Can I... See that?" She asked.

I gave her my helmet and not even 3 seconds later, she threw up in it, "H-Here... You gooo..."

I held onto my helmet without dumping the contents, "Let's just take you back home."

I had to set my helmet down on the floor, and I swept her off of her feet and carried her. Hopefully they figure out who spiked the punch, it seemed like most of them were plastered! Momo adjusted herself and she rested her head on my shoulder.

"I-I'm sorry... F-For embarrassing you..." Momo started to cry.

"You didn't embarrass me, Momo. Trust me, you would've known if you did." I reassured her.

She was quiet for a few seconds, then with tears still in her eyes, she looked at me.

"D-Did... Did we win?" She asked.

"Win what?" I asked her.

She laughed and leaned closer to me, "T-That cost... Costume suit thing?"

"Yeah, we did." I looked down at her and she smiled at me.

Momo put her head over my shoulder and threw up. I guess I'll be washing the cape tonight too... We got inside the dorms, I set her on the couch and I took off the cape and top part of my suit. All that was pretty much still clean was the black bodysuit that I was still wearing. I put my costume into the sink and Air Freshened the hell out of it. I cleaned it as best as I could and I let it out to air dry. I walked back over to Momo who was trying to stay awake, I picked her back up and we walked upstairs to her room. I opened her door and I helped her get out of her costume.

"Is there anything specific you wear to bed or does nothing really matter at this point?" I asked.

She shook her head, I helped her get into her bed and I was going to leave her room before I heard her say something.

"C-Could you... Could you stay here for a little bit?" Momo requested.

I shrugged my shoulders, "Sure, why not?"

She patted her bed and I laid down the side she pat. The silence was honestly really tiring, and I closed my eyes for a brief second, which turned out to be 5 hours. I looked over and noticed that Momo was asleep. I rubbed my eyes and got up from her bed. I slowly closed her bedroom door, I went downstairs into the common area. I checked the time, it was 2:20 AM. I heard someone come downstairs, I turned around and saw a very exhausted Shoto.

"Hey." I quietly greeted.

"You missed it, Bakugo got drunk. It was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen." Shoto responded.

"Really? Did they figure out who spiked the punch?" I asked him.

He shook his head. I honestly wonder who did it? I looked over at my costume and noticed my helmet was next to it. I looked inside of it, and it was clean. My cape and top were still a bit damp, though. After I said goodnight to Shoto, I walked back upstairs and went into my room. I got dressed for bed and noticed a small silver trophy with candy in it. It looks like Momo and I did win, although it was second place! After everything that happened today, there's one thing I learned, I really think I've got feelings for Momo!
