I woke up to a message from Selkie, I guess I didn't have to come in for that Work Study today. In all honesty, I didn't even feel like going in the first place. I looked over to my right and saw that Momo was still asleep. I had Mikaboshi stop time so I could move without waking her up, I never realized how peaceful stopped time was until I started getting ready for school. As soon as I stepped outside of the dorms, I had Mikaboshi resume time, I walked to school by myself. I wonder what we'd be doing today?
[Two Hours Later...]
"Ah, Alyx! You're rather early, normally I'm the first one here. It's nice to see that more people are taking school more seriously!" Iida greeted.
I looked up from my notebook and slightly smiled at him. I looked back down at it as my smile quickly faded. As everyone slowly made their way into the classroom, we waited for Mr. Aizawa, the door slid open and it wasn't someone that I was expecting.
"Goooood Morning! I'm your substitute teacher, Ms. Kaoru!" Rei sang out.
I rolled my eyes and looked back down at my notebook. I already knew what was about to happen, it's the same ole' thing with her. Why do I even bother with this?
[45 Minutes Later...]
"Alright everyone, we're going to be doing some extra fun today! You all can head down to the locker rooms and get changed into your gym uniforms! There's a bus waiting outside for all of you. Leonidus, I'd like to see you right now." Rei announced.
Everyone got up and left the room, I could've sworn I heard Momo say something but I wasn't really paying attention. I packed up my things and stood in front of her desk.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Oh, I was just wanting to say hello and-" She grinned.
I turned away from her and started walking out of the classroom.
"W-Wait! I wasn't done talking yet." Rei called out.
I looked back at her before I left, "Yeah? It's not like I don't already know what you're going to say. So, just keep it to yourself, it's the same as every single time we've been in the same room."
I slid the door open and left the room. I put my hands in my pockets as I heard high heels click against the floor behind me.
"Alyx, wait! Hang on!" I heard Rei shout.
I kept walking as she finally caught up to me. I was surprised that she ran in those high heels.
"You don't normally do that, is there something wrong?" She wondered.
"Something wrong? Why would you care? Are you just gonna use it to manipulate me into doing something?" I responded.
"N-No... That's not it at all, I... Y-You..." She stumbled over her words.
"Just leave me alone, alright? I'm not in the mood." I retorted.
I looked away from her as I walked down the stairwell. I didn't hear her follow me down, maybe she went another way?
[Several Minutes Later...]
I was the last one on the bus thanks to Rei keeping me behind. I rested my head on the window of the bus, I had to grand opportunity of sitting next to Mineta, what made it even better was that I had no clue where we were going.
"So, Alyx, I heard you-" Mineta snickered.
"Yes, I did. Shut it." I interrupted.
I saw him settle back down into his seat out of the corner of my eye. I looked out of the window; the direction we were heading looked like it was... Towards the Sports Festival Stadium? Why would we be going there? I felt my phone vibrate, I pulled my phone out of my pocket, I got a text from Momo. She sent me something that looked like a bunny using her keyboard on her phone. I put my phone back into my pocket and stared out of the window once more. Why are we heading to this place...?
[A Couple Hours Later...]
We sat in the stands, it was us and Class 3-B, there were also other Pro Heroes scattered about in the stands as well. The board flickered on, were we doing some sort of training? An image of me appeared on the screen with a mystery opponent on the right side.
"Hey! It looks like we'll have a star-studded match up right off the gate folks! This one is gonna be wild!" Present Mic announced.
I got up from my seat, "Yeah, whatever."
"Good luck, Alyx!" Uraraka smiled.
"Yeah man, give whoever it is all you've got!" Kirishima beamed.
"Save your cheers for when I actually do something, idiots." I muttered.
I threw my gym top off and walked down the stairs. I passed everyone as I made my way down to the waiting room.
*THIRD PERSON*
"So, have you been here the whole time, Mr. Aizawa?" Izuku questioned.
"I have, I've been helping the others set this whole thing up. I've been meaning to do this for a while, but with what Laura showed us, I decided to act on it for real this time." He explained.
"Who exactly is Alyx going to be fighting? None of us have been told to head down to the waiting room." Momo chimed in.
"Chandelier Osore will be. Although she won't be fighting him physically, she'll be doing it mentally. Being that she's an outside source, I'm hoping that she can at least give him some sort of reprieve from whatever's going on in his head." Aizawa told her.
Soon, Leonidus made his way into the arena, not bothering to look back at those who cheered him on. Chandelier made her way to the arena as well. She could see the complete emptiness and voided look in Alyx's eyes. She slowly made her way towards Leonidus, making sure not to make any gesture that she was going to attack.
"I'm not going to harm you, I'm just wanting to let you know that we're concerned about you, Leonidus. Even Kazunori's concerned, and he's only known you for about a few days now. We want to help you, but we need to know what's going on." Chandelier reassured.
Leonidus' fists trembled as he clenched them, "You wouldn't understand..."
"Then help me understand, Alyx!" She replied.
Leonidus stood there silently for a bit, tears began to fall down his face, Chandelier started to look concerned.
"Do you realize... How much I've kept to myself... Just so that I can become a hero? I don't know how much more I can take before I can finally lose it. Everyone's been giving me the same damn answers that it feels like I'm in the same dream day in and day out. Why do I have to be the one that has this happen to them?" Alyx sniffled.
Chandelier stepped forward but quickly stopped as Alyx activated his Overdrive Quirk.
"All I've been to them is a fucking wonder, something they can marvel at because they've never seen my Quirk before. Do you have any idea how many times I've been tested on just for them to understand what my Quirk is? They never hesitated once to ask if I was okay with it, neither could I say anything because I've been taught to keep my mouth shut or else I could fuck up my chance at becoming a hero, even if it's the slightest mistake. I'm just a goddamn lab rat... Something that they can look at behind bulletproof glass in an enclosure." Alyx cried.
His aura began to intensify, "I-I... I could've killed All Might, did any of them know that? I was taken advantage of by the League of Villains thanks to my Amnesia, I've killed... So many people... They had me out everyone while holding my family by the thinnest string imaginable. But did anyone reach out to me, ask if I was okay, just like I do with them? That's why I was never at the dorms half of the time, I was bound to get the same answer, plus I didn't want to put my dumbass thoughts onto them!"
"So... Why... Why did it have to be me?! I've been so fucking nice and kind to everyone on this planet, gave them at least some sort of positivity, but all I've gotten back is silence and memories of things I don't want to think about anymore! I used to stand out on the tallest building in this goddamn town and look of the edge, wishing that I could just end this fucking torment right then and there, but what would everyone rely on if I did? Who would people use as a tool next? That's all I've been, a tool for these 'heroes' and 'villains' to use at their disposal, simply because of who I am and what I am. A fucking freak! Just like Mikey told me..." He sobbed.
Chandelier opened her mouth and was ready to speak before red and black smoke surrounded Leonidus. Six gigantic Rage arms appeared out of his back, thrashing around the arena and the stadium! Leonidus fell to his knees, sobbing profusely as he held his head in his hands.
"I DON'T WANT TO FEEL LIKE THIS ANYMORE! EVERYDAY, IT'S BEEN TORMENT IN MY HEAD AND I CAN'T FUCKING TAKE IT ANYMORE! ALL I'VE HEARD IS ALL FOR ONE'S VOICE... I JUST CAN'T FUCKING DO IT NO MORE! THEY'VE USED ME AS A GODDAMN TOOL JUST TO CONDUCT EXPERIMENTS ON ME! I'M JUST A FUCKING KID YET I'VE DONE THINGS THAT THESE 'HEROES' SHOULD'VE FUCKING HANDLED, I HATE WHO I AM... I HATE MY ENTIRE GODDAMN EXISTENCE!" Leonidus sobbed.
Shota jumped down from the stands, dodging the violently swinging Rage arms as they tore through the stadium. He got to Leonidus and erased his Rage Quirk right as Mikaboshi put Leonidus to sleep. Chandelier ran over to Leonidus, catching him before he fell face first onto the ground. Kazunori hopped over the stands and ran towards the arena. Kazunori rushed to Chandelier's side as she held Alyx in her arms.
"I've got him Chan." Kazunori told her.
She let Kazunori pick Leonidus up, Chandelier looked up at the stands and at Aizawa with a scowl.
"You've got a lot of damn explaining to do, all of you." She fumed.
"Listen, we can talk la-" Aizawa tried to respond.
"Later? You wanna talk later? This kid just poured what he's really been keeping in his head and all you can tell me is that 'we'll talk later'? Nice, real nice. Come on Kazu, let's go." Chandelier interrupted.
Chandelier made her way out of the arena. Kazunori smirked as she walked past him.
"You should make her angry more, shit's pretty rare to see! Also, one more note... Whatever any of you have done to him, if I find out exactly what, I'm gonna fuckin' rip you all to shreds." He remarked.
Kazunori turned around and followed Chandelier out of the arena. The two made their way down the street towards Musutafu.
"Why didn't we take the bus? It would've been easier, you know." Kazunori wondered.
Chandelier pulled out her phone, "After everything that I've just heard, sending him back with them would only make things worse. We can't let him go through that again."
"Sooo... What in the fuck are we gonna do? Another thing, why in the hell aren't they following us?" Kazunori asked.
"We're staying at a hotel for now, he needs a break from everything. Also, the direction we took was towards Recovery Girl's office, so I'm sure they think we dropped him off there." She explained.
"Kidnapping? Definitely not what I was expecting we'd be doing, but alright!" Kazunori cackled.
[Several Hours Later...]
*LEONIDUS P.O.V.*
I woke up staring at the ceiling of my room? I sat up and realized that I wasn't in my dorm room, but I was in a hotel room.
"Hey, it's nice to see that you're awake!" Chandelier bubbled.
"Chandelier...? Kazunori...? Where are we?" I questioned.
"Obviously a hotel, it's not that hard to see that, Leonidus." Kazunori replied.
"And neither is it hard to be nice, Kazunori. Listen, we figured you'd like to have a break from things, so we figured you'd like to hang with us for a while." Chandelier added.
I rubbed my eyes and yawned, "Oh, okay, that's cool. I was thinking about heading into the Seventh Plane for two years, but this might be a better alternative."
Kazunori got up to go get something for us to eat. I looked down at the palms of my hands.
(I.R.P.: Listen to "Memories of Bah" from Dragon Ball Super: Broly)
"So, how are you feeling?" Chandelier asked.
"I guess I'm feeling okay. I still don't know if any amount of venting or breaking down will help. Everything that I've seen and done... I can't forget about it no matter how hard I try. I don't know if I'll ever shake this feeling of despair I have." I spoke softly.
"Why don't you try and turn that despair into something you can put out? You know, like power?" She suggested.
Her words made me remember what Mirio told us back during our First-Year, how he turned every experience he had into power, no matter what it was. Overdrive started to lightly glow from the palms of my hands.
"That's the thing, I'm not sure how to. Someone told me that they did just that, but I was always wondering one thing, how could someone do that? Maybe I'm just overthinking the entire thing. But I never understood how someone could turn pain into a positive thing." I replied.
"Unless you're Midnight?" Chandelier joked.
"Yeah, unless you're Midnight." I lightly chuckled.
I sat cross legged and faced her, "So, Kazunori, is he always that way? I don't care, I know someone who used to act like that, I just want to know."
"Kazu? He's always been like that, not to me however. He's a sweetheart and he means well, but I guess he's rather protective of me, not that I'm complaining. I'd rather have him barking up a tree for no reason than for him to be completely inattentive to the things around him." She answered.
"Hm, I see." I nodded.
I looked over at my phone as it lit up. I saw that I had about over 20 different message notifications an about 30 or so missed calls!
"It's not right what they did to you, Alyx." Chandelier spoke up.
I looked up at her as she stared at me. Her eyes displayed a genuine concern, something I've never really seen before.
"There's not a single thing in the world that I can do or say that will make things better for you. I'm not going to pretend that I understand what you've felt and experienced, neither am I going to tell you that everything's okay. But what you did today, that was the best thing you could've done for yourself, letting everything out like that isn't easy. I'm sure it opened up a lot of eyes as well." She continued.
"Thank you, you're the first person to say something like that to me. Judging by the way you said it, I could tell you actually meant it. Thank you, thank you so much." I softly smiled.
I honestly felt comfortable and content for once. I didn't have to hide behind an emotional curtain anymore, Chandelier and Kazunori made that obvious. Maybe it would be best if I stayed with them for a while.
