"Alright, has everyone decided on their hero names?" Midnight asked.
"Yes, Midnight!" We responded.
One by one, we went up to the front of the class, everyone had some pretty interesting hero names! I had a hard time deciding on what to do with mine, but I finally came up with one that I liked. I walked up to the front of the class to present it to everyone.
"My hero name... Is 'The Overdrive Hero: Leonidus'! Or just 'Leonidus' for short, which ever you prefer!" I revealed.
"Ooo, that's a nice choice! I love the extension!" Midnight complimented.
I sat back down in my seat, afterwards, we were told about our internships. I talked to Annie about them as soon as I got those papers. I was interning with her, she told me that she was gonna teach me some stuff! Mr. Aizawa also told us that our internships were a week long, and that by the end of the week, we all should have a place chosen.
[Several Days Later...]
The day came for our internships, I was honestly really excited! All of us had our cases with our hero suits in them.
"This is gonna be super cool! We're actually going to be Pro Heroes for a week!" Mina exulted.
"Yeah! I can't wait to see what we're gonna be doing once we're Pros!" I grinned.
Everyone boarded their trains, I stood there and waited for mine to enter the station, hopefully it would be soon. Deku came up next to me as I waved Momo goodbye once she boarded her train.
"So, who are you interning with, Leonidus-san?" Deku asked.
"I'm interning with my sister, Fourth Gear, I talked to her about it and she told me she could reteach me some things. Who're you interning with?" I answered.
"All Might's old teacher, Gran Torino! I got the nomination the day we chose our hero names. Hopefully he can help me out with my Quirk." Deku replied.
"Well, if he taught All Might, there isn't a doubt in my mind that he could help you with your Quirk. I'm sure he could teach you quite a bit!" I smiled.
Then, my train finally pulled into the station, I waved goodbye to Deku as I entered the train. I couldn't wait to see what this week has in store for me!
[A Few Hours Later...]
I arrived at Annie's agency, it was quite the large building! I stood in front of the doors and waited for them to open. I stood there for about 10 minutes waiting for them to open.
"Can I help you?" I heard a woman's voice.
I looked over towards a buzzer thing, I pressed the red button on it before speaking.
"U-Uh... Yeah, I'm here for an internship, I'm Alyx Leonidus from U.A. High." I told her.
"Oh, Alyx! Why didn't you say so? Come right on in!" She bubbled.
The doors slid open, I walked into her agency, there were tons of people in here! It was almost like some sort of office building! It was a little intimidating to be honest.
"There you are! I was wondering where you were." Annie called out.
She came over and hugged me, "I'm glad you decided to intern with me. We've got a whole bunch of stuff to cover this week! Come on, let's get to it."
I followed her to this large room, I noticed that there were other people training in here as well. They looked like Pro Heroes that were just starting out! Annie opened up a door that led into her own training room, the doors slid shut as I entered.
"Alright, I'm gonna teach you everything you used to know about fighting!" Annie announced.
"Everything I used to know? How much did I know exactly?" I wondered.
"You were a black belt in Hapkido, Tae Kwon Doe, and Kung Fu. Trust me, you've got a lot to learn." Annie replied.
I nodded at her, "Okay, let's get started then!"
[3 Hours Later...]
"G-Geez... T-This is... Kinda hard to... Get out of!" I panted.
"Now you know what this move feels like, it's called 'Son Kara Gokki', it's not that easy to break out of unless you're wanting to break your arm. When you have your knee placed like this, it's 100% guaranteed to break an arm if they try to struggle out of it." Annie explained.
Annie took her knee off my shoulder blade and let go of my wrist. I stood back up and brushed myself off, man, this stuff was intense! Luckily, I've been getting the hang of it, it's almost as if I hadn't lost my memory in the first place. We've been running through a whole crap ton of stuff!
"Meditation time!" Annie beamed.
"Huh?" I uttered.
"In order to maintain control of your Overdrive, you'll need to better your breathing. Our Overdrive Quirk can only be used if we can maintain stable breathing, which is why underwater fighting or villains that have a Quirk that revolves around water are tough to beat. Not to mention those who have fire Quirks or some sort of smoke Quirk as well. But we can improve our Quirk so that we don't have to worry about threats like that!" Annie responded.
Hmm... I wonder if I would've won against Shoto during the Sports Festival then? If Deku had a hard time with him, then I think I would've as well! I sat down on the floor cross-legged while sitting up straight. As I activated my Quirk, Annie did the same in front of me, I closed my eyes and took deep breaths in and out. I felt my Overdrive surround me completely, my entire body was a mix mash of cold and hot. Although I didn't feel like I was going into a different Mode.
[Several Hours Later...]
I left Annie's agency rather sore after we finished up our training, I got a text from Hagakure saying "Ice cream?". Eh, why not? I'm pretty sure that it would be relaxing for me! I made sure to tell Annie where I was going before I left. I texted her back and she sent me the location to an ice cream place that was a little ways away. At least I know my way around this place, I've been around to quite a few places as of late. I soon arrived at this ice cream shop, I saw Hagakure waiting outside for me, she looked up and waved at me.
"Leonidus-kun!" She bubbled.
"Hey, Hagakure-san!" I beamed.
We entered the shop and waited in line, I looked up at the menu board then down at the ice cream in front of me.
"You should try their Super Sparkle Horn flavor, it comes with a unicorn sticker!" Hagakure recommended.
"It definitely sounds interesting, what's so special about the sticker?" I wondered.
She stood on her tip toes and leaned into my ear, "It's sparkly!"
"Holy hell... You've got me sold!" I giddily whispered.
We eventually made our way up to the front, we both ordered the same ice cream, all for that sparkly unicorn sticker. We sat down at a booth with our ice cream and sparkly stickers.
"So, how's your internship going? Didn't you say you were interning with Fourth Gear?" Hagakure asked.
"Yep! My sister's teaching me how to fight again, or well, more advanced techniques then the things I know now. How's you're internship going?" I nodded.
"It's interesting, I'm learning a lot about hero stuff! I knew it was gonna be hard, but I didn't think it would be THIS hard!" She replied.
We continued to talk as we ate our ice cream, I couldn't help but notice that she was looking at her phone, almost as if she was trying to take a photo or something. She eventually looked away from me and sighed.
"Is something wrong, Hagakure-san?" I wondered.
"Well... It's just that... What do I look like?" She answered.
"O-Oh, why do you ask?" I questioned.
"Because I've never actually seen myself, you know! You're the only person that can actually see me!" Hagakure beamed.
I looked at her, "Well, for starters, you've got dark blonde hair. Your eyes are a super pretty hazel color as well! In all honesty, you're pretty cute I'd say."
"You think I'm cute?!" She gushed.
"W-Well... Maybe?" I faltered.
"YOU CAN'T SAY MAYBE! IT'S EITHER YES OR NO!" She shouted.
"G-Geez! Alright then, yes!" I yelled back.
She put her hands on her cheeks and smiled, "Eeee! I just got called cute by Class 1-A's pretty boy!"
"P-P-Pretty boy? Huh?" I questioned.
"Yeah! Some of the girls and I got to talking about it, we think you're super cute! Especially Mina and... Wait, I probably shouldn't say her, but this other person really, really does too!" Hagakure beamed.
"O-Oh, wow, i-is it hot in here or is it just me? T-They really must've turned the temperature up in here!" I nervously laughed.
Hagakure leaned forward a bit while still keeping her bright smile on her face.
"So, spill it, who do you like?" She whispered.
"I guess I'm not entirely sure yet." I replied.
"Hmm... Wait, how about you just tell me about her and we can go from there!" Hagakure suggested.
I nodded at her, "Alright, well for starters, she's super smart. She's incredibly beautiful in every way possible, she's... She's just absolute perfection, you know?"
"You like Yaomomo, don't you?" She smirked.
"You hit the nail right on the head, Hagakure-san." I agreed.
"Oooo! I knew it!" Hagakure chirped.
She rambled off about planning dates and "cute couple stuff" that she read online. Good grief...
[The Three Days Later...]
"You ready to go out on patrol, Leonidus?" Annie wondered.
"Patrol? I mean, yeah, of course! I'm a little sore from all the training though, but I should be okay!" I beamed.
"Good! We're only walking around town, you're going to see what it's like to be a Pro Hero, this is just the minor things we do. But those minor things can make a big difference in the long run!" She replied.
We left her agency to go out on this patrol, I have to say, I never would've thought I'd be doing this right now. Especially after everything that I heard happened in Hosu City, that must've been one hell of a time for Endeavor and the other heroes! Right as we left, there was already a disturbance going on.
"See those guys over there? Things like that are what we also keep an eye on, just because it might be a simple crime like Disturbing the Peace, it doesn't mean it needs to go unchecked." Annie informed me.
I watched as she walked up to the group of people that were harassing the shop owner.
"Alright now, shove off! Go do something better with your time that isn't harassing someone." Annie told them.
"Aw, what's a little girl like you gonna do abou-" A man wondered.
Annie interrupted him by grabbing the collar of his shirt and lifting him up high. The man's eyes widened with surprise and a bit of fear.
"Did you just say 'little'? Trust me, I've got more muscle than what you could dream of, sweetheart. I suggest you all get out of here before justice is served." Annie retorted.
Annie set the man down and the group quickly dispersed. I walked over to her as the shop owner thanked her.
"That was relatively easy. How tall are you again? I kind of don't remember." I remarked.
"I'm as tall as Mirko is, Leonidus." Annie responded.
I blinked a few times with visible cluelessness and confusion. Was she thinking that I was like Deku or something? I don't know this stuff off the top of my head!
"5'3", Leonidus, I'm 5'3"." She sighed.
"Well, don't get all Ms. Grumpypants with me because I suffer from Amnesia. How do you think I feel when I don't remember things that I should know?" I muttered.
Annie smacked me on the back of the head, "That's a point for being an ass!"
"Ow! P-Points? What are you keeping score on? How was I being an ass?" I yelped.
"Just shut up and let's get going, we don't have all day for this!" Annie replied.
We continued our patrol around town, not a lot of people were out today, and I honestly don't blame them. After what's happened in Hosu, I'd imagine people are wondering where and when it'll happen next. Annie taught me more about hero things, to be honest, it sounded like a lot of work! Getting hundreds of calls per minute, dozens of crimes occurring in multiple regions, and much more. At least the crime rate is somewhat down! Although I would imagine that's not gonna be the case here soon.
[Several Hours Later...]
Annie dismissed me from my studies as she had calls to attend to, I couldn't really go with her being that some could be dealing with real villains. As I was walking down the street, I heard a pipe drop on the ground in the alleyway next to me. I started to walk into the alleyway only to be pounced on my someone.
"What are you doing out here all by yourself? Did you come to see lil' ole' me?" Himiko gushed.
"N-No! If you're gonna stab me, at least give me a fair shot back!" I shouted.
"Oh, relax, handsome. I'm not gonna stab ya! Yet... Maybe? I dunno! The possibilities are endless, Leonidus-kun!" She giggled.
She hopped off me and I stood up. I brushed myself off before talking.
"So, what exactly are you doing here? I know I shouldn't be saying this to you of all people, but it's kind of dangerous to be out here at night. I guess I kind of learned that as well." I asked.
"I guess live here! Also, I'd like to ask you the same thing, but I already know." Himiko beamed.
I lowered an eyebrow, "You... Live here? In this alleyway? I don't mean to be rude but are you homeless?"
She got closer to me and backed me into a wall, at this point, I did NOT like where this was going...
"You know, now that I'm closer... You're the first person that I don't feel like stabbing, or even want to remotely stab. There's something about you that I just can't put my finger on, or my knife. But maybe something else...?" Himiko wondered.
"That didn't really answer my-" I tried to reply.
She got closer to me and kissed me. Himiko looked back at me and smiled.
"That's what it was! I've never felt a rush like that before! You felt it too, right? Your blood boiling with anticipation, you're a damn good kisser, I bet your blood tastes super sweet!" Himiko gushed.
From down the alleyway, I heard someone's voice, "Hey, Toga, what's going on?"
"What? You've never made love with someone in an alleyway before, Dabi?" She shouted to him.
He walked forward and I got a much clearer look of him. His body had skin graphs, his hair was jet black, and he had piercing blue eyes.
"I'm just surprised he's not bleeding out on the ground right now. Is he your boyfriend or something?" Dabi hinted.
Toga gasped and blushed, "Dabi...! Of course he is, right?"
I had one of two options, Option One: Break away from Himiko and hope and pray to god that it's just Dabi here. Or Option Two: Bullshit my way out of this and hope and pray to God that I don't end up face down in a ditch somewhere. He was a little intimidating...
"Y-Yeah! That's right!" I lied.
Dabi looked me up and down, "Wait a minute... I know you. You're that kid that took down that giant almost a month back. I saw what you did during the Sports Festival, you've got an interesting Quirk, kid. Toga, let him in."
She held my hand and we walked to the door. Himiko unlocked it and we all walked inside. I expected it to be some sort of an apartment, not some sort of bar room! Himiko and I sat down in a booth, she placed her hand on the table. She signaled for me to put my hand in hers, which I did.
"This is great! I wish you could meet Shiggy, I think he'd love you!" Himiko smiled.
"Yeah, I bet he would!" I laughed.
I needed to find a way out of here but I wasn't sure what to do! I pulled out my phone and looked at the time, it was only 4:00. So, at least Mom wouldn't get mad at me for being late. I decided to display my charm in order to get out of here.
"Well, I'm gonna have to head home now, darling." I told her.
"Aww... You can't stay a little longer? Why not forever? Pleaaaase boo bear?" Himiko pleaded.
Right before I could do anything, the door opened, and the scariest looking thing I've ever seen entered the bar through a portal. Was that... Shiggy?! To my dismay, he looked over in my direction.
"Who're you?" He asked.
His voice was unsettling, almost bone chilling. I didn't know what to say but Himiko perked up.
"Shiggy! This here's my new bundle of joy!" She chirped.
"And... You haven't stabbed him yet? That's impressive, what's your name, kid?" He asked me.
I stood up from the booth and so did Himiko, "A-Alyx Leonidus, sir."
He removed the hands that had decorated his body. His face, it gave off nothing but pain and despair. At this point I knew none of my plans were going to work, not only was I outnumbered, but I could very well be teleported back here thanks to that bartender guy.
"Since I can tell you'll be staying here for a while, luckily, you can use one of the spare rooms. Or, if you're feeling daring, you can sleep in Toga's with her. Or not, I couldn't give a damn what you two do, as long as you aren't noisy." Shiggy addressed.
Himiko smiled at him, "Thank you Shiggy! Come on, let's go!"
She led me to her room, which shockingly, looked pretty normal. She laid down on her bed and rapidly patted her thighs.
"Come on, come on!" She grinned.
I walked over to her and laid down on her thighs. You know, if I had just minded my own business, maybe I wouldn't be sitting in a bar turned home with a girl that tried to kill me and her extremely intimidating friends. I felt her comb her fingers through my hair.
"You know, I still don't want to stab you. I don't know why, but you're just so... Different." Toga cooed.
"T-Thank you! Sorry if I'm not saying much, I'm just trying to take this all in." I nervously laughed.
I sat up and pulled out my phone, I wasn't going to get out of here anytime soon, so I had to come up with something that would make sense to my mother. I texted her that I was spending the night at Kaminari's, which after a bit, she replied with, "OK. Be safe!"
"Whatcha doin'?" Himiko wondered.
She rested her chin on my shoulder and put her arms around me.
"Just texting my parents, I told them that I won't be home tonight." I replied.
I could tell that she started to get giddy with excitement. Himiko somehow got in front of me and sat in my lap. She smiled and I saw those familiar sharp teeth once more.
"S-So... What exactly is your Quirk, Himiko?" I questioned.
"I ingest people's blood and I can disguise myself as them! Pretty cool, huh?" Toga grinned.
"Yeah, that does sound interesting." I agreed.
She held one of my hands, "Your Quirk is pretty, I like the color, although I prefer red. I think it makes everyone look better."
I laid down as Himiko sat up, I honestly really felt like I shouldn't be here, not one single bit.
